the hotel was great just didn't like the location to the strip in Vegas. There was a shuttle but it didn't run 24 hours. The food prices were a bit too high for our budget

Great location. Off the busy strip but totally close enough to be enjoyable due to excellent shuttle service. Pool hours too short, lifeguard short staffed. Had to wait one hour for pool to open. Great hotel. Had a real good stay. Would highly recommend.

Less than ideal setup for business persons to do any work in the room. No desk and limited internet accessibility. I had a wobbly table in my room, not suitable for a comfortable work space. Many hotels in Vegas do a better job

Picked the wrong hotel. Found the Venetian to have better poker, cash and tournaments. Although, the Rio was sponsoring the WSOP.

all suite hotel one hour long line for check in at 3 pm King Bed had no spread (don't know if it was intentional or not)--they might say it was a "duvet" of sorts--didn't like the location of room (constant "elevator" type noise which recurred throughout the evening). This was probably because they knew I was a Priceline customer.Another guest told me he had a one hour wait to check in at 3pm. I checked in later but was thankful I was not there at 3pm. This should never happen even in today's economy.

the positives are that the staff are all friendly--often smiling and greeting us. the room is big and spacious (although one reviewer said it was like a bigger hall--i agree). the room decor was fine, not too out-dated or gaudy. the rio sort of feels like a motel 6 trying to do up itself. the facial tissue and toilet paper are rough (my allergies got my nose running, so i was not pleased about that). the sheets are rough, certainly not the high count egyptian. the bathroom is alright, has some granite (but still see that motel 6 base). i heard the plumbing of neighboring showers and toilets--especially before the checkout time. i heard people out in the hallway during the midnight hours. there is no complimentary internet or coffee maker in the room. at least the internet should seem like a given these days. the restaurants seem blah. didn't feel compelled to eat there. i went when the weekend had sunny weather. by noon the pool lounges were all taken up. i think the pool is open to the public. they should reserve it for just guest and have outsiders pay. and the "beach" area is so small and crowded. i am from california, so i don't really need to have a beach feature. next time, i'll spend a bit more for luxury and go to the bellagio (small room, but a large bathroom to die for) or venetian.

Paid for a smoking room 4 months in advance, It took 4days stay to finally get a smoking room. Food and Drink prices are Sky High.Breakfest will cost average 28$ per person and not worth $8. Bring alot of money! Not much to do at this casino at all. Place is crawling with prostitutes.

Rooms great size and for family Just felt atmosphere at check in and information in rooms etc was a little lacking and they could do more to encourage guests to see own shows and access facilities on site - their appeared to be little incentive to stay on site Gym Excellent but thought pricing just for using GYm was high - maybe that is a fanchise within property

Check in was quick, but the front staff are kind of rude. They don't seem to care about you at all. The Players Card desk staff are the same, actually even more miserable. The rooms are fairly large, our phone didn't work very well. They were clean, and the housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping the room clean in an orderly manner. Roomservice was pretty good, arrived faster than they said it would. Prices were fair. Very disappointed in the table games. I couldn't find a table for less than $10 minimum. Looked everywhere for a 50 cent roulette table, and could only find it in the Video Roulette (which turned out to be a BLAST!) The casino staff are very friendly. The waiters and waitresses all must sing and dance every few minutes on little stages throughout the casino. THIS IS NOT A CASINO TO BRING YOUR SMALL CHILDREN TO! I was shocked and sort of disgusted at the amount of parents that paraded their kids through the smokey casino, only to sit and watch the VERY over-sexed shows. The show that happens at night was ok, the dancers ride in carnival themed "carts" on a track in the ceiling. They throw beads down at the spectators below. It is an incredibly "sexy" show, and I wouldn't ever let my small kids (or teenage boys!) watch it! Overall, we had a great time. We spent a lot of time at this hotel during our stay because it was a laid back atmosphere, and the bar near the back (by the shops) has some FANTASTIC bartenders that make very good drinks! The casino staff offered great service, everyone else though - not so much! Have stayed at: Mirage, Bally's, Paris, Strat. Would stay at Rio again.

The Rio was a fun experience with a spacious room and friendly staff. The casino floor waitresses were prompt and very friendly and wore awesome sexy outfits. The free Show in the Sky at the Masquerade Village was vibrant and fun and for $12.95 you could ride the floats with the performers. Engaging them in talk was fun and they were very outgoing and the lighting tech [...] was a hoot. Definitely worth the $12.95, but see the show from the floor and balcony as well. The Flair bartenders were awesome as well, n the M village. The table personnel were friendly and willing to instruct a non-player(me) in the incredible game of craps. I was completely at ease and will play craps for the 1st time next time in Vegas (Thanks guys). Not saying you see them all the time, but seeing Matt Damon, Charles Barkley, and meeting Ben Afleck (sp)was an added bonus as they came in early one morning to play high stakes. Only two drawbacks, the personnel at the All-American Bistro were great for several visits except one slow/forgetful and did I say slow waitress; waited placed the order, waited, got a beer, waited was re-greeted by and asked what I would like to order (must have forgotten about the beer and my earlier order, waited eventually received food, waited paid, waited and then went to bar to see where waitress had run off with my credit card; would walked out, but she had my credit card. Wasn't that busy either. The food was great, but pray that you don't get that waitress. Secondly, the Rio is off the strip, not far, but far enough to have to take their free shuttle. The drivers are great, but they only have two shuttles and the last runs at 1 am. Sort of put a crimp into late plans on the strip, but cabs are an option. Also it would be nice if they had a shuttle that would run down to old vegas. Be sure to see the fountains at Bellagio at night, show every 15 minutes, awesome. It was uncrowded, no reason to venture out! Wish it had flat screen TVs For the price I paid it was an Incredible Deal! A quality hotel at a motel 6 price!

The hotel it self was just okay we had a water leak in the room that came from the storage room next door it took 3 days to finally get it dryed up it was right by the bed so when you steped out of the bed you got your feet wet. We called maintence they came up the first night and just checked it, still wet the 2nd night they came up again, still didn't do anything. On the 3rd day we called they finally brought up a big fan to dry the floor after 3 days of being wet. Then we had to ask for wash clothes 3 times, finally they brought them up at 11pm after the 3rd call. Thank you

The casino was dark and claustrophobic. The World carnival buffet was lacking in flavor. The prices of everything in the gift shop were outrageous. It was very easy to get lost in the shuffle. Rooms were nice and spacious and employees were friendly.

We were in Vegas on a short trip. I was not really sure about staying off of the strip but I figured what the heck. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was just awesome. Large, clean and nicely furnished. We didn't wait very long to check in and the gentleman checking us in was extremely professional. Booking shows through the Rio was a breeze. They were very helpful in letting us know what was showing not only at the Rio but at other casinos. Pool was closed for the season I assume so I have no comments about and we didn't go to Vegas for the pools. Shuttle wait was not long. Overall I was pleased for the Rio. I would like to see a restaurant with full menu open all night at the Rio. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I chose this hotel for a reunion with friends from all over the country. Although it is not on "the strip" they had a convenient (free) shuttle bus to two locations on the strip. The rooms are extremely large and comfortable. I did have one plumbing problem and needed to change rooms but it worked out ok, except for the fact that my new room was all the way down a VERY long hallway which got to be annoying since there was a lot of coming and going. The pools were a highlight of the hotel although one time they were closed for a private party. Another highlight is the club on the roof with breathtaking views of the area. The front desk gave us free passes so remember to ask for that. I was not impressed with the casino or the dining. All of the restaurants are overpriced and the breakfast buffet had blah food and bad service. The casino area seemed a bit tacky but I wasn't really there to gamble. All in all I would recommend this hotel for the rooms, pool, and nightclub.

Friendly staff. Location & confusing layout. Excellent stay, great value for your money. If you plan on fine dining, expect to spend some money. Only other choice is the cafe with very reasonable prices and a lot of food. Sea food buffet is not recommended due to very high price ($40 per person) and too much ordinary sea food selections.
