In the midst of the fascinating Spreewald idyll, surrounded by close timber forest, meadows and flowing, the hotel Waldhotel Eiche lies lonely and a little bit enchanted. A green oak sheet belongs to the logo of the hotel, which can lookback on a long tradition. Built as a small reeds-roofed blockhouse in 1756 whatwas usual for the Spreewald at that time, it is said that the "Old Fritz" should have stopped off there some years later visiting "his" colonists in Burg's today's local part Burg- Kolonie.
