Hey, this place welcomes pets! We thought that was great. But the price to be paid was an unrelenting cat urine stench that permeated the entire main building, especially the lobby. We arrived after dinner on a 95-degree day, and our room was sweltering. Took about an hour to cool it down. The carpet and the furnishings were at least 15 to 20 years old, and had really taken a serious beating. The kitchen was pretty much nonfunctional, and the countertops were chipped, cracked, falling apart. Don't know how long it had been since that bedspread had been laundered... Ugh.

It was a nice place with a good hot free breakfast. The hotel is made like apartment building and is at least 20 years old and needs a little work on upkeep. I liked this hotel because it is feels like you are staying in an apartment. The food was good and the people were friendly. The free breakfast was excellent! The hotel is a little run down because of age but was nice for the price. The beds need a memory foam top to make them softer but they are not as bad as some I have slept on. I enjoyed my stay.

I only slept at the hotel arriving at night and leaving in the morning. The suites were in buildings and mine was a little hard to find late at night. It was kind of seedy, not dirty but didn't look perfectly clean either. Maybe just a little run down. And kind of noisy from neighboring rooms. But the buffet breakfast was cooked beautifully and served graciously.

The A/C was cold. I double paid, lost $200.00. My room had pet poop on the floor, took over 4hrs to clean it up, the showers trap was clogged (I cleaned it out myself), I was double charged! I paid for my room in cash and was also charged on my credit card! I didn't have my receipt so they pocketed my $200.00!

We were in town for the motorcycle at Barber Motorsports Park. The hotel was perfectly placed between the airport and the park. We couldn't ask for friendlier service. The hotel is a little dated, but well kept. The issues I saw was that the pool was closed, the floors above our room squeaked terribly, and the kitchenette was only partially usable. There were no dishes and the dishwasher was bolted closed. It didn't really affect our experience and overall is was a great deal.

The Rime Garden Inn was OK. More like an apartment complex than a traditional hotel. The room was very large with two televisions. It was an older well used facility. Not very close to downtown. I would opt for some of the other options in Birmingham in the future. I doubt very seriously that I would stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprised at our accomidations. We got our money's worth and then some. Clean, much larger than we expected (kitchen, dining room and living room with balcony) We especially enjoyed the complementary buffet (hot) breakfast. Service was great.

upon unlocking the door & stepping inside you are hit in face with a stong musty/moldy type odor, the furniture even reeked of it!as soon as you turn on the lights the cockroaches started scambling back to their spots, one was almost as big as my thumb. we don't live in those conditions at home and we werent staying in there!our party checked right back out in less than 45 minutes!no more for us at the rime inn!

The Rime Carden Inn and Suites was a enjoyable stay. The staff was excellent. I was not familiar with the Birmingham area, the staff was excellent with giving me directions on numerous occasions. The breakfast was great! It was not merely a continental breakfast. The Inn's dining area was clean and relaxing. I ejoyed my suite, which was an apartment, quiet, non smoking, and neat. If I needed anything, the staff was able to, and did give, in a very friendly manner, my requests, no matter if it was information, fresh items or directions to the different places I needed to attend while staying there. The staff would go out of their way to assist me with every request. The location is good, quiet and not too far from downtown Birmingham, shopping areas, the airport, restaurants and places of interest. As you can tell I truly enjoyed my stay at Rime Garden and would recommend it to anyone visiting Birmingham.

The Rime Garden Inn is an old condo complex. It has yet to be refurbished. There were a couple of light fixtures in our room that were literally falling from the ceiling. The ceiling over the bathtub was so soft, you could poke a finger through easily. The room is a suite, however, there were no utensils, or means of using the stove or any facilities. The dishwasher was disconnected, this I understand, however, to have a full kitchen at your disposal, without the proper tools, is a waste. We had a large family directly above us, I swear, they were stampeding around the room just because they could. Very poor insulation. On a positive note, the shuttle service was above and beyond the expected. He was wonderful. I probably would stay again for the deeply discounted rate, but, never full price.

my only setback was that the living room area in our suite had a very weak floor #509. so i was always conscious when walking around in that area. other than that i liked the hotel and would stay there again seeing as how my travels as a bishop will take me to birmingham on a more regular basis. the closet clothes stand fell after putting 3 suits (men) and my wife's clothes.

The check in was awful. I had called ahead to make sure that I woud be given a smoking room. The clerk assured me on Wed before my arrival Fri that it was done. When I arrived I was early by 1.5 hrs, however they were unprepared for my room. One staff member went to check to see if the room was available and never came back. I sat there for 1.5 hrs until I complained and another staff member which seemed to be a supervisor check for availability of another smoking room. It was available and I checked in. One day (Monday)they never came to clean the room at all. They never changed the sheets, and there was no dinner available at the hotel on Sunday (Mon-Sat only). I found the staff to be business friendly only without a real genuine sense that they cared. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.
