Our stay at Rimba was a pleasure! The Orangutans were simply amazing, and I can't imagine a better way to see them, or a better place to stay. The lodge was apparently built for the Great Apes Conference a few years ago, where Louis Leakey's three Great Ape researchers (Dian Fossey, Jane Goodall and Birute Galdikas) met to discuss their research. It continues as a really nice little hotel, surrounded by the jungle, but with enough comfort to make the stay easy. Getting there took a while, and was a bit of an adventure in itself, showing just how remote it really is! The food was good, varied and tasty. And the tours that they organised for us to see the Orangutans were excellent. We also saw 4 other types of monkeys in the wild, as well as the temple monkeys that live in and around the lodge itself! Highly recommend this place, and their sister lodge in Bali!
