Our room was large, despite paying their lowest rate. Room was bright and had nice view. Bathroom was clean. Everything was good except check-out time of 10 am. I would expect (and would have preferred) later check-out. Upon request, they reluctantly extended it to 10:30. I would return again.

March 09Hotel was very clean and well presented. I did arrive rather late and there wasn't anyone at the reception desk for quite a while and no way of attracting anyone's attention. Although once there was someone on the desk they were very helpful and efficient. Car parking was an issue - there are minimal spaces available. As I arrived so late I was able to park on double yellow lines across from the hotel as was told by the manager that there wouldn't be any 'check's on Sundays. There is a car park down the road which is chargeable but not really ideal if you have allot of luggage! Check out time was far too early! Half 10! Hotel room was great - very big and had a decked balcony with sea view!! Very clean and tidy!

One complaint would be the check-in, departure times. Too late and too early respectively! With no room to leave luggage while we waited 3 hours to check-in, we were offered space under the piano to leave our bag. Very early check-out was also extremely inconvenient. Breakfast times were between 8.30am - 9.15am! Just three quarters of an hour to eat in and HATED the shot glasses for orange juice! Why???!!! Although not the hotels fault we had terrible noise from the room next door, playing music until after 2am. Reception were kind enough to tell them to turn it off but once they had left the music resumed with added abuse being shouted through our door and walls. We feared that to call reception again could result in extreme trouble and so chose to lie awake instead. With the 10am check-out next day, we had to skip breakfast in favour of an extra half hours sleep, taking our total sleeping hours that night to just 3 hours! On checking out we explained what happened to the gentleman on reception but just received a sympathetic 'sorry'. No offer of a part refund for our troubles which disappointed us greatly as the night had totally ruined an otherwise lovely stay in a lovely room. Having said all that we would possibly return in the future but i think we would avoid weekends next time, which is a shame.

Arrived at the hotel at the same time as a coach load of elderly visitors - which didn't help the check in process. That said, the hotel had things all sorted. Customer service was good - despite my booking not coming through. They sorted things out very quickly. Cleanliness was good and bathroom was of a good size as was the bedroom. Corridors were creaky. Decor was a little dated but the bed was comfy. Breakfast was served in a very limited time slot. Was in a good location to drop down to the sea front and the views from the hotel were good.

We stayed in August and our room had balcony with the view of sea . The room was very clean but the shower was not powerful enough. Breakfast was nice and people were friendly. Good parking space . I would stay there again , but i wish it was priced more reasonabley

I really enjoyed my stay and was greated with great charm buy Joan on Reception.The room was light, bright and had a view and a balcony looking over Torquay. I was treated very well and was even given a lift to a friend's house by the hotel chef.Despite my satisfaction I find it ludicrous that the hotel maintains such a restrictive time schedule for breakfast.Times for breakfast are 8.30 to 9.15am.This is just silly and should be extended immediately.

WE were very lucky with our room, it overlooked the sea, was newly decorated to a very high standard. We had 3 single beds in our room and still had plenty of space! However, be careful not all rooms are decorated or have such nice views, we had 5 rooms booked in our party and some of the other rooms were not as good as ours.The lady on reception was very helpful and courteous and Alastair on the bar was very accomodating!!I didn't try breakfast, but I believe it was nice but basic. I did however object to being charged £10.00 to 5 small cups of tea mid morning!! The parking is free. Also, it is just a 5 minute walk to the sea front and 10 mins to the shops, or £4.00 in a taxi. I would recommend this hotel if you're visiting Torquay for the weekend.

I found the hotel easy to locate and only 5 to 10 minutes walk via a footpath at the bottom of the garden, to the seafront.The hotel was clean and the staff friendly though some features of the hotel were a little dated but it was charming and had plenty of activities for my 10 year old grand-daughter. The car parking was a bit restricted to 7 bays though it seemed no worse than any of the surrounding hotels.

The front door step is dangerous when wet, my father slipped over and hurt himself, there was no warning off the problem. The bath panel was broken in the room this should have been repaired before allowing guest to use the room and one funny way they have is at breakfast if you order fish they charge £1.00 extra which is taken before serving you?
