Rome reviewWe stayed in room 4 which had a pleasant view along the cobbled street leading to the Campo de Fiori. The room was fairly small but very clean, well appointed and contained everything we needed. The hotel location is excellent, with all major attractions within a 15 / 20 minute walk. However, be prepared for the steps leading to the hotel and also the noise when the early morning markets are being set up on the Campo de Fiori. The market stalls sell everything from fresh fruit, veg, salami to clothes etc and by night the area is the hub due to the various pavement cafes and bars. The more theatrical Piazza Navona is 2 minutes walk away, across a main road. Restaurants on the Piazza charge a premium due to the location but head up the cobbled alleyways toward the Vatican City and prices become more reasonable. Expect to pay 5 euro for a medium beer (400ml) and the same for a glass of wine. All things considered we loved the city and will certainly be going back.

The room was on the 2nd floor of a building therefore you needed to be able to climb stairs, but we were prepared for that and it wasn't a problem. The room was clean and tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. Tiny shower room, but excellent shower and the size of the shower room wasn't a problem. Excellent location for any time of the day-shops, cafes and restaurants nearby which stayed open into the evening. Campo de Fiori, a small cobbled square was just a few metres up the road which had a great atmosphere-friendly and lively. Also, easy to walk to all the sights in central Rome. Luigi was very helpful and made the stay relaxed and easy. Definitely a bonus to be based in this part of Rome

Hotel is in a great location very close to Piazza Navona and close to the Pantheon, and within easy walking distance to The Roman Forum, Palentine, Coliseum, as well as St Peter's, the Vatican and Castle St Angelo. So all the major acttractions are fairly close by. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous and provided help when required. The room was a little small but very nice, the only drawback being that there was no external window, our room was next to reception so was a little noisy after 8.30am and there were also no tea making facilities sadly. But none of this detracted from the overall feel. The steps are rather steep into the hotel so not suitable for families or less able bodied people but again this didn't effect us. The breakfasts at local cafe's were in an Italian style with a choice of croissants, orange juice and coffee or hot chocolate so could be seen as a little basic but they filled us up until lunch so no complaints. Gerri's bar on the sunday was a lot nicer and more friendly than the cafe round the corner which is for every other day apart from sunday. But the cafe round the corner opened very early so was ideal for the day we left. All in all a very nice family run hotel which we'd definately use again and recommend.

B&B Navona First has at rooms located in at least two different buildings. The residenze we stayed in was located in a quiet street, very close to Piazza Novona, a great neighbourhood. Just around the corner there where nice little restaurants and cafe's, shops and pubs. A big plus for having a communal kitchen, and free internet. The breakfast was the normal coffee, juice and croissant in a cafe around the corner. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The first night we stayed in a very nice, comfortable but smaller attic room (with no window, but an AC), but we were moved to a bigger room for the following nights (with a window, and AC). I would definately stay there again, and I have alreaddy recommended the place to my friends, although I would request a room with a window just because I'm more comfortable with that. The B&B offer transport too and from the airport, we booked transport when we were leaving, and where surprised over the standard of the transport. We expected to be picked up in a normal taxi, but instead a very fancy car with a driver dressed in a suit picked us up. The transport to the airport was very comfortable, well worth the money.

A small hotel in a fantastic location. It's the location and the cleanliness of the hotel which would make me return. The room was small but we weren't in it much but it was bright and modern with air con and a small fridge. We did buy some wine to drink in the room but unfortunately no glasses were provided and when we tried to access the communal kitchen to get some we found that it was locked after 8.00pm so no access after that! Shower room was very small and compact but shower excellent-- washbasin is in the bedroom. Stairs to our room (which was one of the lowest) were very steep would be difficult for anyone with small children.

This hotel was a bit of a find. I checked on Laterooms and it seemed like the ideal location and the price was extremely reasonable. I was taking my brother, sister and mother to Rome and it was their first time, I have been a couple of times before so knew the area that would be great from a location sense and easy for us to get around. The location is ideal, you can walk comfortably to all the key locations, it is about 20 mins from everything, whether it is the Coliseum, Vatican City, Trastevere, shopping area Via Del Corsa, Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, it allowed us to spend a day in each area and walk back to the hotel in the evening. It is very close to the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. The only down side to the location is that most if not all of the restaurants are there for the tourists so you will end up paying higher than normal prices for mediocre food. One word of advice is research the restaurants before going otherwise you will just end up going to the local ones and probably think that the food in Rome is not great! With regards to bars – Campo di Forno is about 5 mins away where you will find a great out door market selling fresh fruit and in the evening transforms to a square full off bars mixed with both resident Italians and tourists once again the prices are higher than most places, but the vibe is fantastic. Now onto the hotel itself, they have two different buildings, one is the one which you will see as the address and the building is on Vicolo Della Cancelleria which is on a quieter street and has less rooms– this is where we stayed. The room easily accommodated the four of us, however if you need more room than a Bedroom and bathroom it may feel small. There were two levels within the room, this was achieved by the fact that the room height was so great that they have fitted a make shift mezzanine level that had two more beds on it but you can stand up there quite comfortably – I will stress that it is quite hard to climb up and d

Fantastic location, very near Piazza Navona & Pantheon. Very close to many restaurants. Could walk to all major sights within 15-20 minutes. Lovely room, tastefully decorated & newly refurbished. Communal kitchen & computer with free internet. Have already recommended this to friends and family. A real gem!

The hotel stated it was a bed and breakfast and although breakfast was included at a nearby cafe, it left a lot to be desired.a coffee or tea, small fruit juice and a pastry. Th pastries were served on a paper napkin, no preserves were offered and the staff were less than friendly in the coffee shop. The location of the hotel however was excellent and a short walk to all the sights.
