San Marco 4868
Venice, Italy

Description:
Excellent property ideal for who seeks a homely atmosphere and a cordial professionalism proper of a family run business. (CQ 03/08) The building is a typical venetian palace, originally a wing of the old monastery of the San Salvador church. This new, small, delightful hotel benefits of a privileged position being situated in a quiet side street immediately off the main way to Rialto Bridge or San Mark's square, approximately 200 metres in both directions. The main street is named Mercerie and, all along, there are some of the most exclusive shops in town, with many of the big label names. Most of the major attractions, as much as the bars and restaurants, are just few minutes walking distance. The closest boat stop from the train station is Rialto and from the Venice airport is Vallaresso or San Zaccaria.

Hotel situated in a very little narrow street No vew from our room but very quiet and near the historic center of Venice 3 minutes from St Marc and 2 for the Rialto bridge... Breakfast very simple compared price of our room (150 Eros) Employees English speaking and some French

Very clean and neat place. Room very small though. Nice, clean and well sized bathroom. Breakfast nice, but a little tedious. The only thing that was disappointing was that the front desk was left unattended at times, with only a note being left telling customers to take their key to enter their rooms! This was a little unsafe, as anyone could have access to the rooms.

The hotel is very centrally located, making it very easy to do all sightseeing. We stayed in the annex. It was very quiet and clean. Breakfast was basic but ample.

A very small but nice hotel and indeed close to Rialtobridge (please bear in mind that you need a good map to find it!) There were only two more guests so it was also very quiet. Personnel is very friendly. Breakfast was modest but ok (although the coffee wasn't freshly made on the 2nd day..) Pricing is a bit high in my opinion but it's certainly a good hotel to consider booking.

We stayed at the san marco in sept 08 for my wife's birthday and we loved it. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they arranged flowers for my wife, made us up a breakfast bag for the morning we left. The location is perfect, very close to the rialto bridge. When we go back we will stay there again.

We were lucky enough to have been given the Junior suite on our first night (although this was an error). Junior suite had a balcony which overlooked a canal. We had to move to a smaller room on our second night which was a bother, but the smaller room was lovely as well (no view though). Location was excellent - between St Marks and the Rialto Bridge. With the directions provided we were easily able to find the hotel - very close to the Rialto bridge. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was minimal but sufficient for me. My daughter was a bit more fussy.

We stayed for two nights at the place. The facility is recently modernized so everything is very clean. The staffs arevery helpful and speak very good English. The location is very close to St. Marco which enabled us to go back to the room to change clothes, drop backpacks, etc. several time a day. The bedroom is kind of small but it does not matter to us since we did not spend much time in the room anyway. Like all Europe hotels, the bed is a full-size bed by American standard and is kind of small for two persons. The breakfast is OK. The only thing that it can be improved is the breakfast time. It should start earlier than 8:00 am.

This was my second stay in Venice, and by far the nicest. The staff here are extremely nice and the bathroom was beautiful with a whirlpool spa bath. Breakfast was the usual continental, with a large range of spreads and whole fruit. It's a very easy, short walk from the rialto stop on the water bus. I would definitely recommend this hotel. So close to all major attractions and transport.

Having stayed at equivalently-priced places during our stay, we were really delighted. We were given great directions, the location in San Marco couldn't have been more central, the decor was beautiful, the breakfast ample, and there was air-conditioning, to top it off.
