The Residence Inn at marriott in Alexandria Va. was close to the historic area and many shops and dining venues.
Date of Stay:
June, 2009
Staff noticed my cane and provided a room by elevator.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
We stayed in a spacious 2-bedroom suite for a 1-night stay. We were pleased to find that the hotel is just about finished with its renovations (according to a note posted in the elevator, they only have the 3rd floor and the lobby area to go).
Date of Stay:
April, 2008
The location is perfect for visitng DC. The Metro is a few blocks away and a 20 minute ride to the monument area of DC. Arlington is one of the stops on the way into DC. The Metro was very safe and easy to use. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We didn't use many of the extras, but the laundry facilities we did use are in a large room with comfortable waiting area. They have a free breakfast with everything you could want and afternoon wine available. We returned to Alexandria for our evening meals and there is an excellent selection of restaurants nearby. We spent a day in Alexandria. It has historical sites and is a very charming town with river walkway. Lots of shopping and beautifully renovated historical homes on cobbled roads. Shuttle is available to take you to and from your activities. I will do it all the same when I return to DC. We tried hard, but couldn't see it all in four days and it left us hoping to return to see more.

Very comfortable, with a wonderful location a short walk to Old Town and the harbor, or to the train into Washington.

We used to live in the area and this makes a great base for seeing both the museums and monuments in DC and getting around northern VA. Metro, Old Town Alexandria, and the wonderful Whole Foods market are all within very easy walking distance. Very easy to get to and from National airport via the metro. Not having a restaurant on site is no hardship at all as Old Town is so close with great restaurants in a variety of price ranges. Have recommended this hotel to friends and family members who have all had great experiences and plan to return; so do we.

The staff and the rooms were clean and great continental breakfast. Parking was expensive. This was a great experience and clean rooms. Great staff and great continental breakfast.

I would highly recommend the Marriott on Duke Street if you plan a trip to Old Town Alexandria or even to D.C. as it is only 2 blocks from the Metro and 2 stops from Regan Airport. It was very clean and good value for the . I had a two room suite complete with kitchen. The hotel has a great breakfast with great variety. They also serve a light dinner Monday-Thursday which I didn't know about and was a nice surprise. I was able to walk everywhere in the Old town area and to the Metro for trips into D.C. and to the airport. Only 2 blocks away is a Whole Food market which has great food to eat! I had a very plesant stay here. Also an extra ...they offered 4 daily papers, the Post, Times, Wall Street Journal, and the USA Today for free!

Great buffet breakfast, room was well appointed, great location for my needs. No wireless internet access, some hallways had an odor.

Parking is $15 per day, but the only concern. The room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. we would definitely consider this hotel for a return trip!

Nice size rooms and comfortable beds. If you were on the side by Duke St. the noise from the street was loud early in the morning.

Excellent, functional rooms and space. Needs a Jacuzzi. Overall, a super hotel with great service, reasonable rates and good location. I recommend it highly to anyone visiting Alexandria or the greater DC area.

It's all great. I loved Residence Inns. They have plenty of space for children and are great with breakfast and evening snacks. No airport shuttle. Loved it. Great hotel and area. Close to shops and Metro.

The availability of parking and the usefulness of computers in lobby with local area info. The hotel staff was not very helpful at check in when asked about recommendations for eating and nightlife. They gave us wrong info. The overall stay at the hotel was great. The size of the room far exceeded what we expected, and the kitchen area was great. The usefulness of the lobby computers with local info was great, but the hotel staff wasn't very helpful or friendly when asked for recommendations for dinning and nightlife. They gave us the wrong info. The location is good, close to public transportation and parking is available at hotel, just not close to nightlife so it requires a short walk or taxi ride. Also not close to late night eats after drinking, and hotel market was much overpriced.

I really liked that it had a full kitchen. I also enjoyed the spaciousness and the separate rooms. The mattress was too firm. This hotel seemed to be located in a very safe part of town. It is two blocks to the metro and the shuttle will take you to Old Town Alexandria. For walkers its a nice walk. Most of the staff was courteous and helpful. One staff member seemed to give out incorrect information.

I loved that it was within walking distance of the metro. No dvd player in the room. We were very pleased with our stay at the Residence Inn. The breakfast they offered was excellent! And the evening social hour was great as well. They were very quick to respond when we called and asked for more towels. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

Great location, great evening cocktail food and breakfast. parking was a nightmare and very costly. Great location and the staff is very helpful. The cocktail hour food was actually a full dinner and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We will go back.

Awesome breakfast, buffet and friendly staff. We were greeted by the staff at the front desk. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with a wide range of breakfast food. The hotel was a short walk to downtown Alexandria.
Date of Stay:
May, 2008
Free Internet connection and friendly housekeeping staff. Unprofessional front desk girl was hired who could not perform her job properly.
Date of Stay:
December, 2007
We loved it all. Great room, great breakfast too. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and we have traveled a lot in many countries.
