What are your breakfast options?

We offer complimentary hot buffet breakfast to guests of the hotel. Hours are weekdays 6:30am-9:30am and weekends 7:00am-10:00am.

Where can we dine?

There is no on-site a-la-carte restaurant. However, on weekday evening the hotel offers a guest social located in the Hearth Room. There are a number of superb restaurants around the hotel, from seafood, Italian, Greek, Thai, Chinese, Canadian/North, French, BBQ to bar and pubs. Prices range from low to high and are approximately a 1-5 minute walk.

Have you renovated recently?

The hotel was built in 2004 and completed renovations on all of the guest suites and fitness centre in February 2011. All guest suites have been updated with granite counter tops in the kitchens, new beds, armchairs, chaise lounge sofas, LCD televisions, wall art, paint, carpet and vinyl. The lobby and breakfast area will be renovated in December 2011.

What traveller type is most suited?

The Residence Inn by Marriott is an all-suite hotel. All of our suites consist of fully equipped kitchen and are 30-50% larger than regular hotel rooms. Our complimentary amenities such as complimentary hot breakfast buffet, high-speed internet and complimentary grocery shopping service makes us suitable for business, leisure, extended stay, families and singles.

What transport is available to get around?

The hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Halifax which makes it a very convenient location and walking distance to get to the Halifax Waterfront, World Trade and Convention Centre, Halifax Citadel, major attractions and business offices.

Neptune Theater is located directly behind the hotel on Argyle Street. Great shopping is on Spring Garden Road which is two blocks away (3 minute walk). The Citadel National Historic Site is approximately 3 blocks away (6-8 minute walk). The Metro Centre for sporting and entertainment events is 2 blocks from the hotel and a 5 minute walk. The Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre for conferences and events is 2 blocks away and a 5 minute walk. The waterfront boardwalk where travelers have access to shopping, restaurants, sightseeing tours and boat tours is 5 blocks away (8 minute walk). The Halifax Seaport Farmers Market is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by a variety of restaurants and night life.

There are many family friendly places near the hotel. The Discovery Centre is just 2 blocks away from the hotel; there are many museums close to the hotel, for example Maritime Museum, Natural History Museum and etc.

There are also many family friendly tours available at the Halifax Harbour front which is just a few blocks from the hotel, for example the Harbour Hopper Tour and the Theodore Tugboat. There is also a movie theatre and a few parks close to the hotel.
