The suites are nice, clean, and a seperated bedroom offers solitude while cooking and watching tv in the other room. We walked all over Portland with ease even though the trolly car practicully stopped at the front door of the hotel. The river walk was beautiful with cafe's and quaint shops and full service restaurants along the way. Again other than paying 21 dollars( mabey 10 or 12 )for over nite parking our expiernce was very very positive.

We really enjoyed the hotel and the room was very spacious and kid friendly. Also, the hot breakfast was a nice option and much better than the normal breakfast served by other hotels. Great family place and good location.

Hotel is new and very clean. Access is difficult and signage is terrible, not the usual red Marriott signage. It is White on top of 9th story hotel that is painted llight gray. ... and entrance is at the dead end of street, If you can fiind it, its a very nice location. Furniture style is "ugly" contempory, but they have the wondefull Marriott Bediding!!! Breafast was good and high quality We would definately stay there again.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Riverplace twice now. The two bedroom suite is perfect for parents with kids and has some space to spread out a bit. The full breakfast is great and the hotel staff have been very kind and helpful both times.

I liked everything about the hotel; everything. The rooms were very spacious and airy; there was a very nicely equipped kitchen for those that wanted to use it; the staff was amazing and knowledgeable as were the people cleaning the hotel and lobby. The wait staff for the breakfasts were terrific also.

First things first - this hotel is located directly next to the I-5 flyover, so if you are looking for dead quiet, make sure you get a room on the northeast side of the building! That said, my 6th floor room was about 100 yards from the lower level flyover. It was not noisy, but there was a low level rumble and some vibration, however, with the A/C running, it was only minimally noticeable. I am a light sleeper, and it did not keep me awake. A hotel downtown would certainly be noisier. The good news is it is a very short walk to the riverfront McCall park, a great place to sit in the early morning with a coffee and a newspaper, or a good walk up to the Hawthorne Bridge. It is also located at the last streetcar stop in Fareless Square. A very quick trip to the Saturday Farmers Market at PSU and the Safeway (about 4 stops away) and the Pearl District. The trip in from the airport was about 90 minutes by MAX and Streetcar. The staff is terrific, early check in was not a problem, and the breakfast was great, especially for families. There are several nearby restaurants on the Waterfront - Stanford's, McCormick & Schmick, a handfull of pizza and sushi places. I am a frequent traveller to Portland, and this was a great place to stay. I will definitely return!

Even though the room was a suite it was a tad bit small. You have to maneuver around the bedroom furniture to get to the bathroom. Parking is too expensive but all of Portland is like that. The staff was helpful and friendly. There was a somewhat variety of breakfast foods, but not too tasty overall. It was clean. The location was some ways away from downtown, but manageable given the public transportation. There is a restaurant walking distance from the hotel and it is open until maybe 11 or 12 at night. Food is too expensive, but decent.

We were lucky to have stayed here through Priceline. What a great place! Beautiful too. The rooms were spacious, clean, and new. We were treated great by all staff, continental breakfast was amazing.. a huge huge buffet! and great eating area. Paid 20 for parking but I felt my car was safe and so were we.

Upon arriving at the Residence Inn at River Place in Portland we were greeted with a friendly face and helpful attitude. My daughter (12) very much enjoyed interacting with him and he was very kind. This first encounter set the tone for our entire stay. The accomodations were quite nice as it wass large and roomy with more features than we expected. The trolly stopping at the Hotel made communting to whereever we wanted to go a enjoyable stress free activitiy. The morning breajfast with the outher guest was also an enjoyable time as there were other families with children and it was an informal yet very rich experience. I can not say enough about the friendliness of every one we met. We will definetly be back

Nice hotel. Banfield right there but still quiet. Clean. Pool nice and warm. Only drawback was the 1 bedroom suite had one king bed. I specified 3 people when booking so we had to sleep like sardines in the bed.

Expensive parking. We were pleasantly surprised by great service of the hotel staff from arrival to checkout. Hotel was modern and rooms were comfortable and clean. Kitchens were well furnished with full cutlery.

"I chose this property based on its proximity to the waterfront park for the Brewers Festival. The light rail followed by a ride on the trolly car got me to the hotel from the airport. I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and was happy to learn that every Wednesday a local restaurant caters a free dinner, beer and wine to the hotel guests. After a long flight, it?s nice to hear the words free meal and beer. Clean rooms, great staff, and free daily breakfast. It felt like home. I?ll stay again."
