I was lead to believe by my booking on cheap tickets that I had reserved a room with two beds but when I got there, the only normal rooms available were kings. They upgraded me to a very nice spacious suite with two double beds for no extra charge even though it was a busy graduation weekend. Excellent service.

Free upgrade to a suite. Hotel Savery is my favorite place to stay in downtown Des Moines. The convenience to the downtown district, the history of this hotel and the great pool and ladies locker room are always a favorite, but the staff is what makes Savery Hotel unique. They bend over backward to make your stay beyond our expectations. We'll go back again and again.

My husband and I stayed in the "king sized suite" on the night of our wedding and assumed this room would have a king sized bed. We were suprised to find that the room actually had a double bed. The bed was not only smaller than we wanted but was also very uncomfortable. The bathroom was also extremely small and didn't appear to be very clean. It was lterally one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen. Since we didn't check in until after our wedding reception we weren't able to switch to a room with a bigger bed and the hotel staff didn't do much to remedy the situation. They advised they would have the hotel manager call us which never happened. For the money they charge I would have rather stayed at Hotel Fort Des Moines or the Marriott, as both of those hotels have better parking and are also closer to some of the downtown restaurants.

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend. Its hard to find and when we finally got into our room it was just a room. It was so small we couldn't belive it. We had a room that the bed took up most of the space. A bathroom was connected to the room. The water would turn cold in the shower. It was a fancy looking room, but too small for what we paid for it. The only good thing was we got free valet survice for our stay and it was close to the Wells Fargo Center where the Rodeo was that we were down there for. I would not choose to stay in this hotel again I would rather stay at the Super 8 and get a room that I probably would pay less for. We paid 262 for two nights. Way to much for this small room.

Very cool hotel. Well kept, very nice staff. I had an awesome corner room, comfortable bed, couldn't really hear others in the hotel. It was very close to Court Avenue with great restaruants and bars. I loved this hotel!!

Nice clean white soft sheets, duvet, & pillows. Housekeeping was a bit noisy very early (before 8 am), but I enjoyed the comfy bed anyway.

The Renaissance Savery Hotel,in DES MOINES,IA is always a pleasure to stay at. Its location, so close to the Civic Center, is very desirable. This was our second stay with them. Our last stay was on a weekend night. Our one king room was small but comfortable. We were very pleased with the hotel except that the dining room was closed part of the time to accommodate a wedding reception in the evening. This was inconvenient. We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded our room. This room with 2 double beds was much bigger with a desk, couch, and 2 bathrooms. They have a parking garage nearby, but do not valid parking. The parking fee is yours to pay.

Convenient, hotel employees were all very nice and helpful. Our room had a terrible view, ac didn't work but they gave us a fan. We loved staying in this hotel. It was very convenient to where we needed to be. Our biggest complaint was that the room only had double beds. Plus when we called about our air conditioning the engineer came right away and told us that this room's air never worked well.Even with that it was a very nice experience.

The room is small, but has good connection with internet. The hotel location is very good, almost at the center of Des Moines. The hotel is connected to the glass sky walk so that you do not have to walk outside.

The bed had a down comforter, many pillows and fresh linens. The hotel staff treated us very well. The amenities were exceptional for the price. The bedding was fabulous! Down comforter, clean smelling linens and many pillows. The decor was updated and trendy.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable and the decorating was quite impressive. However, we brought our laptop and were unable to use it, the maintenance man was not able to help either, so we were told to use the tv/computer keyboard, but were unable to get it to work. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable, and we would definitely stay there when we return. The location of the hotel was perfect for our visit.

location is downtown and close to bars. The hotel was clean and staff was helpful. We didn't leave the room for the day until 1:30 in the afternoon and the room was still cleaned, a lesser hotel would has skipped us altogether.

This was a great place to stay for what we needed to do. We were booked next to the mechanical room which was a bit noisy. The hotel is older and very nicely remodled for comfort and the beds were great, pillowtop and lots of pillows supplied. The staff were riendly and eager to please. The concierge was helpful and pleasant also.

Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. This hotel has had ongoing construction/renovation for years a little messy.

Great location, beautiful rooms w/ 2 bathrooms, pool and spa fun for children. Lovely hotel in great location for being in central Des Moines. Rooms very spacious because hotel is a remodeled historic hotel, so rooms were made from 2 small rooms of the old hotel. As a result each room that I've stayed in has 2 baths. Service and staff excellent, well mannered and courteous. I had my grandchildren with me. When my 3 year old grandson woke up in the morning, he opened his eyes and said, "Whoa! I love sleeping in a store (meaning hotel)". Then he closed his eyes and snuggled down under the covers again.
