The room and bathroom were somewhat on the small side. The closet was almost non-existent. Robes were provided, and there was a separate tub and shower. Not in this one. I know robes are a luxury, and everyone can survive with a tub/shower combo, but when you're paying this much money, you expect a little luxury. Overall, it was a nice experience. The staff were extremely courteous. Room service was prompt.

Location, view and decor. The Riverview was doing some renovations the last time we stayed there. It looks great and is so nice and clean. No smoking building is a plus.

I have stayed at this hotel for three trips over the past two months. The rooms/beds are very comfortable, housekeeping has done a quality job, and I have had excellent response from the hotel staff. The downsides of this hotel are room service options outside of breakfast are extremely limited, and there are few local eateries available after 5pm within walking distance of the hotel. There are also train tracks with regular traffic within sight of the hotel. I do not always sleep soundly, so the noise of the train has been enough to wake me several times during the night. Very convenient location if you have business close to downtown or are catching a cruise out of the port, though.

I had called the Hotel at least twice and had e-mailed them once requesting a room on a lower floor and a refrigerator for my Wife,s medications. Upon check in, the desk attendant acted like he had never seen or heard of our request and gave us a room on the 17th floor. There was no fridge in the room and we had to request that again. most of the staff appeared very un interested in us or the other guests. Twice during our stay the maid did not service the room for that day. Once they called and wanted to do it at almost 10 PM. The elevators seemed to have issues and you could wait for several minutes for one. (there are 4) The restaurant was expensive and not Family Friendly at all. I would not like to stay there again.

The location was good in Mobile with museums and other places within walking distance. Unfortunately no place to eat downtown that we could find near the hotel. The restaurant that was recommended to us by the hotel concierge was terrible. The restaurant was called Eds Seafood Shed. Worst place I have eaten in a while. This was NOT located at the hotel but close to the USS Alabama battleship park. Hotel parking was $12 and next door so not a long walk but I really grow tired of hotels charging parking fees.

We had a corner room which had a beautiful view, the windows with the view was my favorite part of the hotel. There were not many restaurants around; however, this was because it was made grass at the time. We absolutely loved our stay at the Riverview plaza! We could not have been more pleased or impressed with our room. We will definitely be going back and hope to get that same room (or another room with that same setup, i.e. Corner room with awesome view). My fiancé proposed to me in that room, and because of how great this room was, it has contributed to me having such a special memory, and I thank Riverview plaza for that.

This was a nice hotel. I was there for a convention. Great View of Mobile Bay and rather plush accomodations. However, the food from room service tasted awful, but the servers were extremely courteous. Another downside was that most of the servers were foreign, but I guess that comes with the service industry these days.

Stay there for lots of good reasons but make sure you get a load of the carpet on your 'deck'. The restaurant needs some work - the menu is rather ambitious for Mobile and the service needs work. There are too many other good places to eat in Mobile.

While front desk staff was very friendly, this hotel was a complete disaster. Many people in our group had problems with their reservations, elevators were out, management was unresponsive, and housekeeping quality was subpar. I travel fairly frequently and this hotel was a disappointment. We had to ride service elevators with dirty laundry.

I found the hotel staff to be very accommodating to my every need. Although the hotel is undergoing a renovation, I had a great experience. I was fortunate to placed in a renovated room. The mattress was plush and the room colors were bright and cheerful

"the view was outstanding. the front dest was friendly. the bellman was helpful. everyone appeared to enjoy there job which made you feel really welcome. the holtel was uner contruction. and you had to pay to park, however before you do look for street parking !"
