Date of Stay: April, 2009

Stayed there on several separate occasions (work related). I will say that if you are in a pinch, it is a decent place to stay. BUT...if you spend a week at a time like I do, the following will begin to annoy you: 1. The prostitutes roving throughout (mostly the casino) who will not leave you alone. 2. The neighborhood is "not-so-good" once you leave the walls (compound) of the hotel. Be very careful at night. 3. The rooms and recreational area of the hotel show signs of aging without recent renovations. 4. The food at the hotel's bar/restaurant it horrible and overpriced. Do not pay for the breakfast UNLESS it comes free with your room. Simply walk out the back gate to the restaurant across the street. Better food at half the price....and the El Presidente is colder! The staff was very polite. All in all, you have to keep in mind where you are. Santo Domingo is 3rd world and they do not take a whole lot of pride keeping their city clean from garbage and crime. Don't waste your time trying to get out to Boca Chica for a day in the sun. You have to travel farther such as Punta Cana. Bocha Chica is pretty run down.

The hotel was nice. The pool needs some work to be done. They make very good pina coladas. The staff was very nice. A little expensive though for the breakfast. I would definitely return.

Ubication. Pool out of service, we use Sol Melia's Pool. Expensive hotel. Beautiful, but expensive if you want to eat in the restaurants or room service.

I was on business at this hotel with a collegue. Half of the casino's slot machines don't work. It was annoying and really makes it difficult to enjoy your stay. The hotel needs some serious renovation. The staff was nice, but I was not impressed and will not have my company book there again.

I felt that is was like two hotels in one. they have somes rooms apart from the main building which is a lot less quality make sure you ask for the main building the other rooms looks like a guess roon in the backyard.

it is just a nice place to be in. The place needs a Jacuzzi. The staff is always helpful and friendly the location is great and no one bothered us I am handicapped and did not get the room I requested near the parking and doors but I did not ask for it in my reservation so that was my bad.

The hotel was decent, nothing to blow you away but it was clean and staff was friendly. I was hoping for a midnite sanke bar but the food was adequate. Location was good with easy accesss to major highway..

i stayed there, this past December and it was an alright stay. we had the regular room and the beds and the overall appearance was good. we had an issue with the a/c and the sent main. to fix it but there was nothing he could do. then they wanted to change our room, but we had already unpacked and it would be a huge inconvenience for us to pack and unpack again. the breakfast was amazing and the views were really nice too. the pool closed early and they were basically kicking us out because there was no lifeguard on duty.

My hotel stay was OK. The toilet in the bathroom was obnoxiously loud and there was no fan in there for when we showered. Other than that I thought the room was great. Pros: Not too far away from the Colonial Square in Santo Domingo. Close the to Bon ice cream parlor. You can gamble at the hotel or the other hotels next to this one. Cons: They charge an arm and a leg for food. They charge an arm and a leg for cabs. They charge an arm and a leg for tour guides. There is a meringue club that will keep you up on Wedensday nights whether you're at the club or trying to sleep. The casino staff are the least happy people I have ever seen.

Check in was super fast and check out. The bathrooms looked bad the beds were hard. It was an excellent hotel. Very safe secure and relaxed an oasis in a busy place. If you expect perfection and a cheap price then you’re not going to like this or any other place.

This hotel is very expensive for its services. The hotel is old and rooms are nasty, found room full of hairs and dirty. Hotel staff is rude very. This hotel use to be my number 1 choice not anymore. I booked 3 nights and check out early on my first night.

"the deluxe rooms are plain and simple. no activities what so every,everything is super expensive and not worth.i had a leak in the bathroom which was never taken care of.the staff was sucks. they overcharged me in many things. it is the least best hotel any body could ever stay in."

Customer service. Housekeeping. The hotel was nice, clean, and great customer service. The 2 things I didn't like about the hotel were: 1. Housekeeping was done way too late, sometimes even 4:00 pm. 2. Unfortunately you could hear everything in the hallways from your room; so anyone who would go to their room talking in the middle of the night or out of their room talking early in the morning would end up waking you up.
