A great hotel. The location was perfect in regards to the baseball stadium. Staff was very nice and helpful. Just had to step out and walk across the bridge. Room was very clean and shower was good. I would have expected an HD TV in the room though. I also would have like to have a room with a view of the stadium / river. Breakfast was pricey, but many places are within walking distance. Also, don't expect to park at the hotel - you have to park a block or two away. No big deal, just would have liked to known that ahead of time.

Location of hotel. No gripes, everything was great. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It proximity to many eateries and other shops was ideal. The room was beautiful. Very high ceilings and a beautiful view of other buildings in the Pittsburgh skyline. The beds were comfortable and the room were very inviting. Parking across the street was a measley $5 for 24 hours, how can you beat that?

I came with a friend in early January and the stay at the hotel was amazing. Great room, valet, guest services, restaurant and location. It was an easy walk to the T and the theater. This hotel made you feel as though you were someone special!

I stayed at the Renaissance on business and it was one of my best hotel experiences in recent memory. The staff bent over backwards to make sure I had a nice stay. My room was gorgeous and perfectly appointed for the business traveller. My only complaint is that it was so lovely, that I hated to leave it to go to meetings.

The ups are the great location of the hotel and the beauty of the lobby and rooms. We could walk to most everything we wanted to see and do, and the river walks are just lovely. Lots of nice restaurants and bars are around. The room was comfy and inviting, and the bathroom was large and nicely appointed. The hotel is close to the football and baseball fields, which makes the area noisy and crowded if there is a game, which was OK with us. We were very satisfied with all this. We had a problem, however, with our reservation. We made the reservation two months beforehand, and when we got to the hotel, the staff said they couldn't find it. It took 30 minutes of phone calls with Orbitz to find out that our reservation was indeed confirmed, but the staff just couldn't seem to find it. It was very frustrating, but, fine, mistakes happen. However, our real frustration was with the staff's apparent lack of interest in helping us and welcoming us, even after it was clear the error was on their end. I felt like they were just hoping this cranky couple would go away. That started the trip off on a very bad foot, and it ended with another misstep. We got the bill when we were leaving, and it said we took stuff from the minibar. This was impossible, as we declined the minibar key when we were finally able to check in. The lady at the desk was most helpful in having this charge deleted, I must add. So the hotel itself is very nice, but we were definitely turned off by the apparent incompetence of the staff. I would not return to this hotel because of this. I wish other visitors better luck than we had.

Loved the location for my trip. Didn't like the fire alarm going off.

THE NIGHT DESK CLERK WAS IN HER EARLY 20'S, AND VERY SNIPPY. tHE DOORMAN DIDN'T OPEN DOORS, EITHER TO THE HOTEL OR TO THE CAR WHEN I LEFT OFF MY 90 YEAR OLD MOTHER.

Was greeted very well. Refered to me as 'Mr.' and gave me very good directions to my room. Told me the room was beautiful, witch it was but the attendant said it had a great view. There was half a window in the room and it looked onto the roof units and a brick building right next to it, no view of the city.

Beautiful old hotel. My husband and I stay here often. Continued from what I did not like. The notes were in the room/registration (I called/needed roll away). I was told one would be there when I got back from my evening activities. Arrived - no roll away bed. I called down to the desk - there were none left. So - three of us slept in one bed! Unacceptable. Staff apologized - but not given complimentary breakfast or anything at all. I stay here frequently with my husband. Staff are great - this was a disappointment.

This Hotel is absolutely exquisite - everything from the service to the gorgeous rooms and excellent restaurant on the first level of the Hotel. The location is very good, as well, being close to the stadiums, Benedum and Heinz Halls, and downtown shopping.

I was one of 8 rooms for a family event. The staff was very helpful, especially with the family that kept kosher and had 2 small children. The bartender was very helpful, suggesting I change my order when I ordered a dish that others hadn't liked. The sheets were amazing. SOFT SOFT SOFT!! Several of us commented on them. I wish the bathtub had been a little deeper, I really wanted a bubble bath.

We usually stay at mid-priced hotels but decided to go for something a little nicer this time. Clean, comfortable, quiet, great location, pleasant staff. Would definitely stay there again next time we're in Pittsburgh. Very convenient to football and baseball stadiums. Only complaint: server didn't come back to offer me more OJ when we tried their breakfast buffet one morning.

Nice hotel. Friendly. Understated. Nice rooms. Clean. Not much going on in the resturant.

I liked the intrinsic quality of the hotel and its fixtures. The technology (TV, radio) seemed a bit out of date. The hotel was very enjoyable. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. You could tell it was a quality place from the doors, the decoration, the fixtures in the bathroom, etc. Great experience.
