Loved the decor. They moved us to a room with a great view. The beds were heavenly and the service super. We had an outstanding dinner in their restaurant.

My family loved this hotel stay. The front desk greeted us courteously and gave us vouchers for the delicious buffet b'fast (which was part of our rate on Orbitz). The bedding is heavenly. We slept wonderfully the night before our cruise departed. We stored our luggage with the bellman (10 pieces) and gave them a $10 USD tip while we took the Big Bus all around Vancouver for a few hours before heading to the cruise terminal.

It has a beautiful view and the room was newly remodeled. The smell in the parking garage was not good. The quality of the hotel room is beyond our expectation! We got a very good deal from Priceline, but always bear in mind parking is hardly inexpensive or free for the hotels in downtown Vancouver.

This hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks from Canada Place, well within walking distance so you need not purchase a hotel transfer, or get a taxi to get you there. It has great curb appeal and the lobby has an opulence of a 5-Star hotel. However, that's kind of where it ends. On our initial trip to our room, there was a place in our hall where it appeared that either a room-service plate had dumped some of it's contents on the floor or someone had vomited. Since the room attendants were in the process of cleaning rooms I assumed that it would be cleaned when the rooms had all been serviced. However, it was never cleaned, and was still present when we left to check-out the next day. The walls are paper-thin; I am a heavy sleeper and I was awakened in the middle of the night several times by doors slamming closed, and by a child in a room near ours. The pool is small, and the pool area could use some sound-catching materials to deaden the noise...we spent only 15 minutes down in the hot tub because of the echoing, and consistent noise from the others in the pool area. At some point in it's history, our room had renovations done on the bathroom, and the workmanship on the trim was shoddy and not well finished. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the flat screen TV was nice, however, I feel that I had over spent on my one night stay.

This is a great location close to Canada Place. We were also able to walk around Stanley Park. If I go back, I would rent a bike (there are several rentals close by)and ride around the park for a few hours. Vancouver is expensive and this hotel was no exception, but the rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. If you are leaving on a cruise, I would still take a taxi to Canada Place. That way the driver will take you right to the baggage drop off(it's a longer walk than you think). The wait to get on the ship was long, so we were able to leave and come back a few hours later without our bags to worry about. The hotel will also keep your bags for you until you need to leave.

the service was excellent! The rooms were clean and well maintained with good views. Overall a great value for money since the location is simply great (right across the walk to Stanley park across the bay)

My wife and I regularly stay in the Coal Harbour area of Downtown Vancouver when we come to check on our investment properties. The Renaissance offers a pretty good value for the money, especially considering other prices in this area. On our last stay, they were undergoing renovations, however the staff was extremely helpful (as usual) and made sure to overcome any construction inconveniences.

Clean, convenient and comfy. We had a great king-sized bed that overlooked the city- which isn't a bad thing. The pillows, sheets and blankets were just made for sleazing around. The location was perfect too. You can walk anywhere that merits interest. We even took a short walk on over to Stanley Park, rented bikes and rode all the way around the park. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at.

The Renaissance was surprisingly grand in the common areas. Staff couldn't have been more courteous and helpful. My room was huge -- a single with a king-sized bed -- with the only slight drawback being that the room's decor was a bit worn. I appreciated: 1. The location. The hotel is right by the water so has views north to the mountains. It is within walking distance of the Robson Street shops, Chinatown, Yaletown, and Stanley Park, if you're so inclined. If you'd rather take a bus, the buses run on the the street in front of the hotel or one block over. The SkyTrain is a couple of blocks from the hotel. Nice! 2. Safe deposit for your passport. Fully equipped, if a bit cramped, gym. Pool, hot tub, and dry sauna. And all the health facilities are open 24 hours a day. 3. Get the the $8 daypass if you're going to take public transportation. It'll get you on every mode. One thing to note is that Vancouver's downtown is surprisingly deserted in the evenings. Perhaps this is a winter phenomenon but there's almost no activity, even on New Year's Eve.

Great location, good amenities. Early morning body boot camp was very loud at 5:30 am and could be heard from my room.

Loved everything about this hotel! Located right on the harbor for what would be an excellent view (if not for the high rise going up right in front of the hotel). Still, the view is great. The room was clean and decent sized, bed was comfortable, and I never heard a peep out of any other guests. Friendly staff, and excellent food at the restaurant make this hotel the perfect Vancouver experience. And you can't beat the price!

In choosing a hotel the service and comfort are the most important things too me and this hotel surpassed that. What's not to like? I think this by far the best hotel I have been to. The staff is amazing and the service is great. There is nothing much too say.

"The hotel staff is very professional. They appreciate your business and treat you as a valued client. Make sure you make your preference for a non-smoking room known while you are checking in, that was the only blemish, however the hotel found me a non smoking room. The pool, hot tub and sauna area is very nice, and there is a full exercise and shower area. Enjoy, and try the scallop salad, excellent. Easy walk to Robson St - the shopping area."

We really enjoyed our three nights at the Renaissance Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great hotel for kids. The indoor pool and play structure was wonderful for my five and two year old. The park near by was nice to take the kids to. We would have loved a view of the water but the downtown view was just as nice. Coffee in the room with the morning paper at the door was a nice touch. Would recommend the hotel for both couples or families.

I enjoyed the Hotel accomodations very much. The staff were polite and helpful with all the questions I had about local features and even special requests.
