We were able to get into our room about 1pm and chill before we took off to the city. Very comfortable beds and all amenities were very nice. After my daughter went to the airport at 5am I stayed all day enjoying those amenities. Very comfortable. Staff very helpful too.

Beware, renovation under way. Paint on carpets, in sinks.... smell is in the air. Not sure why I didn't know about the daily parking fee ($14).

First of all, I am a veteran traveler. I used to travel for a living, spending more than 200 nights a year in hotels. What upsets me about any poor service experience is that it is relatively easy to avoid with good training and good management.I checked into the Doubletree Newark Airport after 11pm on the 13th of December. If I didn't already know they had a shuttle from the airport, there would have been no way to know they had one running. In the terminal and also at the P4 shuttle pick-up area, the hotel is not displayed on the courtesy phone area. I ended up having to call the hotel to see if indeed there was a shuttle bus available. When I arrived at the property, there were 4 people behind the front desk but no one at the front door or any bell service available. I had numerous bags as I was returning from an overseas trip and had to secure the bell cart myself. I passed several staff members with this cart and no one offered to assist me. The guestroom was fine, although it needed a bit of cleaning. The bed was quite comfortable. As I recall, this used to be a Wyndham and it had been throughly renovated under their management, so the product quality was good.

We walked into the restaurant and were seated right away. The rest was terrible service. Our waitress would rather sit and talk rather than serve us. We had to get our own refills and bus our own table. Will not go back. You could hear everything through your door.

Clean and affordable. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel in general which would include the room, lobby area, and the indoor pool. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very accomodating when it came asking for directions, coordinating adjoining rooms, and providing additional services such as a roll away bed and blankets. Each time we came back to the hotel from our day or evening trips the front desk manager or clerks would ask how our day went. We enjoyed the flat screen, LCD T.V. and the variety of channels available for free viewing. The only downside to the hotel is that it's located right off the highway across from the airport which meant we were pretty much land locked which limited our dining choices without having to drive. The Perkins shuttle never showed so we ended up eating lunch the first day in the hotel restaurant. Being right off the highway also made it very challanging and confusing to get into the frontage road area where th ehotel is located. You needed to learn the N.J.. u-turn system the hard way to figure it out. Great touch to have the computer and printer in the business area for guests to print out their boarding passes. Security wise they have a guard at the gate of the parking lot and you need your room key to operate the elevator.

I arrived at 2 pm only to be told to wait an hour. Upon returning at 3 I was told the room wasnt ready and I could have a double bed. I refused and was told by the manager YOU CANT EXPECT US TO RUSH OUR STAFF. My toilet was broken. I was charged 3 TIMES for the same thing. Then I was told the only thing that can be done is a FREE DINNER....unacceptable treatment and horrible attitudes

I realize that when you renovate a hotel you have to do it while it's being used HOWEVER, the workers started working at 7:00 in the morning. Jackhammers, drills, I don't know what they were using but you couldn't sleep through it. Maybe when the renovations are done I'd recommend the hotel but not now. My thoughts are this: if you are doing this while guests are staying there then do something nice for them such as, free parking. We got nothing but noise early in the morning.

Very clean and nice room with a king bed. No breakfast, need to pay parking and internet. We were a little surprised that parking is additional charge ($15.00 per night). Besides, you also need to pay additional fee if you need to use internet.

Clean, good decor. $12 for parking at an airport hotel is simply a ripoff.

We were very pleased with our room and the staff. When we had a problem with the toilet leaking, it was fixed immediately with a smile. All the staff was very helpful. the restaurant was okay, a little pricey and the staff a little slow in waiting on us, but overall okay. Would stay here again.

The hotel looked old from the outside, but the rooms were great. Having to pay for parking, I thought that was a rip off. The hotel was very nice inside, the rooms were excellent but showing it's age. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Shuttle schedule close to airport. Room service was a real hassle. The bathtub was not clean and all things were very expensive. Not real happy with this choice. The room was good, but the bathroom tub was dirty. Room service became a real issue. I usually pay when I leave but they wouldn't have any part of that.

"This hotel was great. Clean, very hospitible. Service was great. No interruptions, no problems at all. This hotel is a very good and very well priced place to stay."
