Go to fitness center, pool, restaurants and casino. Front staff very nasty, service and hotel need some improvement. Our 2nd time to Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino the first time was better.

We apid extra for "Ocean view" it was on the side of the front of the building over looking a pool that had loud music till 12:00/1:00 and the motorcycles racing up & down at night made sleep hard. The "Private Beach while beatiful was at the end of the Airports runway when planes took off the whole island shook... The Staff was great and the Island had all sorts of wild life but all the watersports they mentioned cost a lot more. The Casino was right out of the 60's and empty the restaurants were good and the service was good. The rooms were small dark and the bathroom dark, dirty and cramped. Aruba was great the people appreciate tourest and the Royal Market Place was fun.

My wife and myself stayed at the Marina tower for 5 nights. Between my wife, and me we spent much time at the Lobby Bar and the Spa. We dined at the LG Smith steakhouse for 3 of the 5 nights. The food and service was exceptional. The staff treated us like royalty and we have some great memory that we brought back. I would highly recommend the Marina suites for couples.

This hotel is literally one corner of a shopping mall and borders the main oceanfront road. The ocean is across the road but there is no beach there, The hotel provides transportation to two beaches (I did not get to go there.) The pool is small and on the roof of the second floor, You can stand at the pool's edge and look over the wall to watch traffic go by right underneath. There are only 27 lounge chairs by the pool, and it can get very crowded. The room was small and dimly lit (not good for reading!) and had a strong odor. The bathroom was small and plain, like any old Holiday Inn room you've ever seen. On the plus side, it is easy to walk from the hotel right into the mall or down the street to other restaurants and shops, without needing a taxi. There is an Internet cafe just steps away with reasonable rates. Also a movie theater just about 1 block away. The lobby is very attractive and appealing, but the check-in desk is on the second floor and both escalators were out of service). The bar area was lively and attractive and had a good feel. Overall, a nice place to mingle. NOT a quiet, spacious, oceanfront resort. If that is what you want, look elsewhere.

I mostly just hung around the pool during the day.. I had an all inclusive package so I mostly enjoyed Blue which was the restaraunt/bar right by the pool.. everything was very convenient and I would reccomend this hotel to others

The staff was lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Location, it was far away from most restaurants and activity. I wouldn't stay here again due to the poor location, although the staff was wonderful it cost us a lot of extra money to take cabs back and forth to most restaurants.

I was recently at the Aruba Renaissance Ocean Suites with my wife and 2 kids. We were held spellbound by the breathtaking view of the ocean from our spacious suites. Kids enjoyed the pool and multiple activities offered by the resort. For my wife, the vacation was also a high-end shopping Mecca since the Renaissance resort had multiple designer stores on its footprint. I enjoyed my time at the 2 casinos and the numerous food and beverage outlets. Their private island, which is only for Renaissance guests, was indeed awesome where you could relax away from the stress of city-life in New York. The family is already considering a return visit to Aruba Renaissance.

Our experience overall at the Renaissance Aruba was awesome. We were visiting the island for the first time, and would definitely recommend it to everyone. The location of the Renaissance is in the city center, downtown, and is within a 5 minute walk from tons of places to eat, and lots of shopping. There is Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Little Cesars, Burger King, Taco Bell, as well as many many local places to dine ? Iguana Joe?s was cheap and delicious. The food, in general, everywhere was great. We did have a few problems checking in. We decided to upgrade, and were told our room would not be ready for an hour. We returned after an hour and were told we would have to wait another 1.5 hours. We returned again, and were told our room was still not ready. Finally, we were put in a city view room, which was not what we had upgraded to, so we were quite annoyed by then. We went back downstairs and spoke to a manager. He said we could use the room to shower, freshen up, etc, and he would have the bellhop move our luggage into the room we upgraded to, which was not ready bc it had not been cleaned. He gave us 2 free drink passes as well. The condition of the bathrooms is not all that great. The tubs are small, and they are not cleaned all that well. They could use a major renovation in that dept. We had a room on the 6th floor which had a cathedral ceiling, so it was very open and airy. The carpet was new as well, and the bed was VERY comfortable! Blue Bar was a great place to eat and hang out as well. The casino was excellent, with Blackjack tables open 24 hours. The busses are a great way to get to the High Rise section of the island. The beaches there are beautiful, but there is not much to do outside of your hotel/beach if you are staying there. The Renaissance is great bc you are downtown, and there are tons of shops, and things to do. You will not be able to take a bus to/from the airport with your luggage, you will have to dish out about each way for a taxi. The privat

Pros: Lots of shopping and dinning choices near by. Private island is fantastic. Adult exclusive Marina hotel, and part of the private island is also adult exclusive. Very nice hotel atmosphere, breakfast at Aquarius, and hotel bar. Cons: Expensive food and drinks. (2 for 1 happy hour though). Not really in a resort part of town, more of a downtown/marina area. No beach without taking ferry to private island. Room had constant mysterious wet spot on the floor. And no TV remote which we left a note about but never got resolved. Pay for Internet in business center and pay for local calls.

The private island was amazing! Room wasn't serviced one day. Clean rooms with empty fridges and room to move around. We had a nice view of the city and were surprised to have a small balcony - nice for morning coffee or afternoon beer. The best part of the experience was the private island where we always found a chair in sunor shade. The boat ride out is part of the fun!

My husband and I just enjoyed our 10th anniversary at the Renaissance in Aruba. We stayed in the adult only Marina Hotel section. This hotel includes a private island with an adult only side there too. We had a couples massage in the cove there and enjoyed watching the flamingos walk around. There are several wide hammocks for 2. At night we enjoyed Martinis at Blue and dinner at their signature restaurant LG Smith's. The area is beautiful at night, especially when a cruise ship is pulling out at sunset. They just finished renovating the shops and restaurant area as well. We highly recommend the Marina Hotel!

I would like to first state that this is NOT a beach front hotel...Its much better than that! Here is my full review of the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino Beach/Pool: The beach was perfect. You take a 5 minute ferry ride to their private 40 acre island with two beaches, a spa, nature walk, and a restaurant/bar. The first beach is called iguana beach (family beach) which is a little bigger and has all kinds of lizards and parots on the beach. The second beach was flamingo beach and is full of pink flamingos that hang out with you as you take in the sun. The boats run every ten minutes so you never really have to wait for a ride. Room/Facilities: The room was perfect. We payed a little extra for the Ocean King in the Marina Hotel (adults only hotel portion). The view was great and the room was very clean and updated. The bar called Blue was very nice and was a great place to hang out at night because it is part of the open-air lobby. Activities: We ended up doing the full island tour, snorkeling, and a sunset sail. All were very easy to book and we loved all three of the activities. The activity desk is right in the lobby and there is plenty of information once your arrive. The casinos are a little small, but they still have enough games to accomidate any player. Staff/Locals: Both the staff and the locals are very freindly. They are all willing to help you out with any questions. Also, the city is very safe and we never felt uncomfortable once. It truly is one happy island! Overall, the trip was great and we are already planning a trip to the same hotel.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well taken care of although on the small side. The beach was beautiful on the private island but it got old traveling by boat to get there every day. Also, there were swarms of mosquitos that would settle in at random times throughout the day. The drinks and food were really over priced at the hotel but everything ran a bit high in Aruba. There were plenty of restaurants and shops and even a market within walking distance. Stay here if you want to be near nightlife and local cuisine, but if you're looking for a strictly beach vacation, head down to Eagle Beach or Palm Beach.

We had a wonderful time. We liked the location of the hotel close to the downtown area. A quick taxi ride and you could be snorkeling off some of the most beautiful beaches. A romantic getaway it was. The private island is a fantastic plus! The adult only side was a nice relaxing location to enjoy the company of the one you love. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for a nice place to stay!!!

The staff was friendly, the hotel was beautiful and in a good convenient location. Room had a view of the ocean, could only see if you strained your neck over the balcony. Very nice. Would stay there again.

We have stayed in this hotel twice. Once in the Ocean Suites and the latest in the Marina Hotel. All I can say is this place is awesome. The entire staff is great. They do remember who you are and help in anyway they can. The private island is beautiful and so relaxing. Being that the hotel is in the downtown area it is the best on the Island. the high rise area is very spread out and you would need a car or use the bus or taxi's a lot. Downtown has something going on all the time with all the shops and restaurants it is just great. We will be going back within the next six months. Aruba is one HAPPY ISLAND. It is well worth staying in this resot.

We had a little mishap when we first arrived as the people in our room decided to stay longer. We ended up in a room with no working toilet and little bugs that hung out at the back of the toilet. Well after we got our room switched within say 15 minutes after arrival, we no more troubles. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent, and sitting pool side watching the night time settle in was awesome. We did horseback riding, the ATVs, the Tattoo (Caribbean dancing on a boat) , Black Hog Saloon, movies, and tons of great eating out places. Check out the Flying Fishbone restaurant at sunset. It is on the water and you can request a table where your feet are in the water while you are eating. Neat experience. I like Blue restaurant right in the hotel lobby too. BTW, the bus will take you to all of the beaches too. Palm Beach is awesome. If you are adventurous, the ATVs are a must.
