BE CAREFUL! Advice – be careful with this hotel – without my knowing they took more than 50% above the price form my credit card. Only after 4 (FOUR!!!) month and writing the official complain, they returned the amount! Beside this rip-off, nothing much, what they advertise as a Double/Twin Room is small and pathetic. Service at the reception and breakfast are also pretty unwelcome. So beside great location.... you are warned!

Handy Hotel, Good LocationThis is the second time I have stayed at the Rembrandt Classic. My only problem this time was the shower head did not stay where it should and drenched the bathroom, but reported to reception on checkout who said they would get someone to fix it. Room 406 - see if it's been done!

the Rembrandt centrum is situated between 2 canals with a driveway in front and 1 inback of hotel.the cars and bicyclists utilyze these drivways, it seems all night long noise into the morning.the room is very small approx 7ft wide x 12ft long with the bathroom taking up approx 7ft of the 12ft.a very noisy room from outside and the guests inside slamming doors and walking the wood floor hallways.they have a breakfast area buffet style and expensive for scrambled eggs and bacon /toast, 12.5 euros $18.38 us. there is absolutely nothing around the hotel.you have to use the tram to get around and forget the taxis unless you want to get gouged.(taxi to schlipal airport 44 euros $65.00us).

Excellent location, nice and clean rooms, good service. A hotel to consider if you need accommodation in the center.

Hotel charged us 'City Tax' on top of the payment made to Hotel Club. The voucher clearly states that all tariffs and taxes are included in what is paid to Hotelclub. I don't expect free breakfast but I do expect to pay an agreed rate without EXTRAS. Staff when we checked out with cynical and rude - you know who you are! Not recommended to Club Members!

Great location on the canal and a short walk from the Central train station, and to the Dam. The service was professional and friendly. The standard room was compact, but clean and tidy. Thank you.

It was better than basic and really well placed for seeing the sights of the city. Situated on one of the 3 main canals, we got a room overlooking it, which added to the charm of the place. The hotel generally could do with a repair programme to keep up with the fact that the building is obviously very old but it was clean & comfortable.

Extra night in AmsterdamWe had to stay an extra night in Amsterdam and this hotel is perfect. Equidistant from the Centre of the city and Anne Franks House, it is a brilliant location. Good clean and well furbished rooms. Good value for money.

The staff of the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. There were 2 negative points which couldn't have been rectified by the staff, but would have made our stay more comfortable - namely no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and a very badly laid out bathroom, in which there was a shower attachment in a bath which didn't even allow us to stand up due to the adjacent sloping ceiling. Lovely location on the canalside.

Excellent Location. Walking distance to everything on a wonderful quiet street yet completely central. Rooms very basic. No sound insulation. Fortunately guest who stayed in the hotel were quiet so was not a problem. Generous breakfast. .. Did not get my free bottle of water that was indicated on the voucher - I also forgot to ask for it.

Good value and locationThis hotel is a little gem if you want to find a reasnable hotel at a good price. Very close to the centre of Amsterdam and a 10 min walk from the central station. The hotel is close to the centre but away from the red light district by a couple of blocks. ( no funny smells ) I will continue to use this as my default hotel in Amsterdam

My single room was quite small, although i booked double room and paid price for double room ( eur 58). Otherwise room was OK. Staff in hotel is friendly. Location of hotel is very good, to the Dam square is 5 minutes walking. Breakfast is not very goog, scramled eggs should be done in better way and salamies are catastrophic. Coffee from machine is excellent.

We booked the Rembrandt Classic last-minute as part of a mini-cruise weekend. The hotel is in an excellent central location on an attractive canal side. It is a fairly typical 3-star, no frills hotel. The room was small, but clean - we were offered a double-bedded room instead of the twin that we had booked, which was great. The hotel reception/bar area was clean and attractive and the staff helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment on the food.

Too expensive for what it is, plus they charged me 5 euro when my credit card was initially refused!

I booked this hotel for business but it's not a business hotel. There were no traveller amenities in the room - tea or coffee making facilities, trouser press etc. The room was old and tired with cracks in the ceiling and the sash windows would only stay open if held up by planks of wood (provided). I checked out after only one night of a 3 night stay and moved to a different hotel.
