We stayed at this hotel to visit the university and were mostly satisfied. It was in the heart of downtown so you could walk to the school, restaurants, and bars. The rooms were roomy and comfortable and very reasonably priced. I had read that the pool wasn't very clean so I didn't bring swimming trunks but when I arrived I was supprised to see how nice it was. Another added suprise was a good size refidgeraton and a microwave. The hotel had a few downsides depending on what you're looking for. The second we walked in the door the desk person began demanding our information and seemed as if we were inconveniencing her by being there. You could hear into the adjoing rooms rather easily and though the rooms were nice, they are in need of updating. Over all I would recomend this hotel for convenience, price and comfort.

I am a frequent world-wide traveler and this hotel had simply the worst customer service! You really do get what you pay for. The hotel's evening staff has obliviously no control or management skills. The continental breakfast included some stale bagels and awful coffee. There was no parking in the hotel's two parking lots. The hotel's parking fills up with college club hoppers. If you want a spot, plan on waiting till after 1:30am. The manager is extremely argumentative and condescending.

The night we stayed there it was impossible to sleep. The noise from the pool and in the hallways were terrible. Drunken strangers banged on our door. An alarm went off at 2 a.m. . It was a horrible experience.

Check in was easy, and we were able to visit comfortably with our daughter. We have stayed in Columbia several times and this was one of the best Hotels we have spent an overnight stay.

This may be the worst hotel experience I've ever had. When we arrived, many things in the room were not working (lights, phone, tv remote) and it took hotel staff almost 24 hours to address after repeated phone calls. The rooms are old and dirty (had to look behind the bed to plug in the phone, which was why it was not working--big mistake--disgusting) and the pool and hot tub shown are not in working condition. The worst part of the entire experience--we were charged for our stay twice. We paid in advance with online travel website and confirmed that we had paid in advance when we checked out. A day later I noticed my credit card, which we had to put down upon check-in, had been charged. We stayed there more than a week ago and I have spoken with a manager several times and they still have not managed to reimburse the charges. So many reasons to stay somewhere else--we'll never go back.

I blocked rooms at this hotel for my daughter's soccer team. We had 2 families leave because of the room conditions. More would have left, but all the hotels were booked because of the Show Me State Games. Our room had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the carpet was filthy and damp and to top it all off, when we pulled down our sheets, there was a pair of underwear in our bed. Other team mates rooms had body hair on the sheets, doorknobs would not stay on the doors, and the vent fell out of the wall in the bathroom onto the floor when they walked in the room. The hot tub had no water in it and we drove around for one hour to try and find a parking space. There was a pair of dirty underwear in the basement sink that had been there for a while with ants crawling all over them. We and our entire soccer team will NEVER stay there again. Many guest from other teams were in the lobby complaining about various things while we were there. The picture of the hotel on their website must have been taken 25 years ago!!!

my stay was OK. It is an older property - but well maintained. Convenient to U of Missouri campus.

The Regency Hotel Downtown is a nice, older hotel right in the center of downtown. The only complaint we had was that the air/heating system didn't seem to work well. The room was really warm and when we called down to ask for some additional pillows, the gentleman who brought them up showed us how to open the vent above the door to let in some of the air from the hallway. That worked well as the hallway was air conditioned, however, it also let in all the noise of everyone walking in the hallway. The staff was very courteous, the room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was adequate and the location was wonderful. All in all, a place I would recommend.

The hotel has no amenities. It is not particularly clean. The bathrooms were updated in 1960, but not since then. You are paying 70+ for, AT BEST, a bargain basement motel. The walls are VERY thin. You will hear everything, and it is difficult to sleep at night.

The stay at first went great. We checked in and everything went fine. Then I went to the batheroom, noticed how there was a big crack in the back of the bathroom door, when you closed the bathroom door you would have cold air coming in from the crack. And the beds, were like sleeping on plywood, and there was stains on the side of the beds. My mom went to lay down on hers, and the springs popped up on her. I finally got to sleep after 2am, my mom did after 3am. And then when we woke up to get dressed and eat breakfast we could not get out. The dead bolt would not unlock. So they had to take the big window out so we could get out. That is a stay I will never forget.

This hotel is in no way shape or form a 3 star rating. The rooms were crowded and cramped, carpets dingy and stained, furniture chipped, fixtures rusty, and half of the plugs were falling out of the electrical outlets. The other half of the electrical outlets didn't work at all. Other then the sheets being clean and the staff being friendly there is nothing else good to say about this place. They call it a three star rating so they can charge more for a two star room. What a rip-off. I know what a three star hotel room is and this isn't it because I stopped staying at anything less than a three star room several years ago and this is the first time a room didn't measure up to a three star rating.

The hotel was better than expected, hotel was a little aged, but that didnt make too much differnce. It was located in the heart of downtown and was walking distance from Mizzou which was nice. Also being able to use the Golds Gym around the corner was also nice. All in all good hotel and would stay there again

This hotel has a nice swimming pool and a great location, near the downtown nightlife and the MU campus. The room, although basic, offera comfort and the standard necessities. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the TV was great with lots of channels, and the room had a fridge and microwave. Overall a great value and a good experience.

Yes, it was inexpensive. Booked 4 rooms for family function. My Dad's room had bed bugs, every room's vents were so clogged with lint that no A/C or air came out -no fresh air available. Sister's kids feet turned black from walking on the carpet with no shoes. Springs popping out of the king beds in 2 rooms. You can hear everything in the hallways even when people are talking at normal levels and the room doors are all windowed to the hallway so whenever anyone goes in thier room it makes a slamming noise and shakes your room too. The rest of my family went to another very nice hotel for the same price but because we booked with a online travel agency and it was already paid for we stayed...plus our bed did not have bugs in it but we just had to wear our shoes all the time in the room and the shower. I have stayed in some cheap places before but this by far takes the cake on dirty. Plus, they told our family what room we were in over the phone and when they arrived...we all have different names. No security whatsoever. They obviously do not reinvest in the rooms and for goodness sake clean the mold out of the shower cielings and the filters in the A/C to the rooms once in a while. This place is a pit and a joke but for now the only place in downtown Columbia. I predict it will be out of business as soon as something else opens in that area. It is worth it to stay a mile or two away from downtown just so you don't die of some filthy disease. Horrible!!

We left even though we were booked for four days because the room was so dirty. Hair on the sheets, springs sticking out of the beds, sticky carpets in the rooms, dirty shower, what looked like a throw-up stain on a chair at the little table, no A/C and the non-smoking room smelled of smoke.
