The Refuge Inn was very comfortable, the room was fine. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area though with 3 adults an extra sink would have been useful. In room ironing equipment and hairdryers would have also been welcomed. The location was very good -- very convenient to Assateague by bicycle.

The staff was great and gave us maps and tips for the national park and made great dinner reservations for us even though a tad expensive.

The Reguge Inn provided us with a comfortable space to stay while we explored the wildlife refuge just a short drive away. Our room overlooked the pony corral and we enjoyed watching some of the island's famous relatives frolicking. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The continental breakfast included Belian waffles as well as fresh fruit and pastries. The staff was very friendly and I was impressed when a member of the staff offered to help me with a suitcase I was struggling with. My only disappointment was the area itself was junky touristy. This was not the fault of the hotel, but a good sign ordinance would go a long way on the island. We were disappointed to see that little planning had been done to preserve the beauty of the area.

The location and the quality of the rooms also the cleanliness. Nothing. We have stayed here before and will again. Their deluxe rooms are just beautiful. It is the closest motel to the beach area. It is very clean and they have a wonderful breakfast.

Well appointed rooms, on-site bike rental, close to wildlife refuge, ponies on site. Room had a slight musty smell. Family friendly motel with very nice, shady picnic area; definitely the best for families with small children that want to bike to Assateague. Bike rental is on-site and bike trails begin just a short way down the road from the motel. The kids loved to visit the ponies that are penned on the motel grounds and the indoor/outdoor pool was great for sun-sensitive guests.

Closest hotel to national park/beach. Hallways smelled moldy and smoky like cigarettes even though non smoking hotel. No elevator, bad for seniors and parents with young children. I will recommend the Refuge Inn for a stay. It is clean, modern and close to the National Park. Bike rental right next door and free light breakfast.

Location, rooms, relatively quiet. Frig didn't work. Nice motel in a good location. Rooms and staff are nice.

Location and ponies. Musty smell in room on arrival. Felt rushed out of breakfast area. Good location close to national park entrance. Very close to McDonalds and adjacent to bike rental. Reasonable prices for vending machines and laundry. Damp and musty in room because AC was not left on when we arrived but cleared up for the most part after a few hours.

Aesthetically pleasing! Liked everything. The Refuge Inn was delightful and much lovelier and inviting than2 stars. We plan to go again and hope our experience is as wonderful as this first visit!
