The hotel was only a few blocks from Riverwalk and the Alamo so it was a nice walk. It could have been cleaner. The staff was friendly.

Perfect location, very clean and good view. It is close to everything in downtown San Antonio. Walking distance and we felt safe walking to and from the hotel. Very clean room, very attractive lobby and food bar, friendly staff, good view and parking free in covered garage.

I was doing a tour of various cities in Texas with some friends and San Antonio was one of the locations. This hotel was absolutely great. The location is only a few blocks from the Alamo and the Riverwalk downtown, which is San Antonio's prime tourist area. Breakfast was included and was better than nothing. The swimming pool was great for the hot temperatures. The hotel was rather quiet for being near Interstate-35 and from our room we had a great view of the city skyline (minus the interstate in the way, but not a big deal). The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

The Red Roof Inn Downtown/Riverwalk is close enough to San Antonio's attractions to sport the price tag of a downtown hotel, but it is just far enough off the beaten path for walking at night to feel unsafe. The beds seemed oddly shaped, and the blankets and pillows were comically uncomfortable. One of our beds had glitter on it. It was clear the area under the beds had not been vacuumed. The front desk was frequently unmanned and one often had to wait several minutes for a representative to come to the front. Reaching the establishment by telephone was virtually impossible.

This hotel was better than I used previously. The only problem was there was only 1 person at the desk. It took a while just to check in because 3 other people were waiting and the clerk was also tending to the phones. I asked for non smoking and my room smelled like cigarette smoke. The hallways were hot because the air conditioners were non functioning. I had to go to all the floors in the hotel looking for ice with non of the machines working.

They did not have a very nice continental breakfast or extra things, such as spoons. This was perfect for a inexpensive place to stay. Very close to the River walk area and other attractions. Would return to this hotel again.

We used a online service to book this hotel for the easter holiday, I booked it a week ahead and it was comfirmed. We got there on friday and apparently the reservation didn't go through and they gave our rooms to other people due to the holiday. We got on the phone right there for 30 minutes just to have them arrange us somewhere else, and they gave us a alternative that's 10 miles away! We chose this hotel because of the location (close to riverwalk) and they just ruined the whole point The people at red roof inn told us THIS happens alot online, meaning their customers always have this problem. They basically ruined our vacation with my family from England and I will never ever use them again.

From the moment i walked up to check in until I checked out The staff was very helpful and courteous. The Inn was VERY convienient to all points of interest in downtown San Antonio. I ended up extending my stay one day longer than i reserved through Travelocity. I would suggest if you decide to stay long find a computer and go that route. Its saves a lot of money.

overall it was a nice hotel. it was in a good location aproximately .5 miles from downtown san antonio. i didnt like the where the pool was located it didnt have any tpe of shade from the sun. the best part was it was an avg. price for the location.

It was very close to the main attractions in San Antonio. The rooms were minimally clean, the bed seemed to have fleas.

I only stayed two nights. It was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. It is so close to the riverwalk, that you can walk to it. There is a bus/trolley pick up right outside, so you don't even need to walk really. For the price, this hotel is perfect. Besides, if you go to the riverwalk, Cafe Ole serves a margarhita that will totally make you forget anything you might not like about this hotel. I would definietely stay at this hotel again.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Room is nice with work stations, fridge and microwave oven. The hotel's overall quality is quite good. But the building is near a railroad crossing. There were trains passing with very very loud horn every 1/2 hour 24 hrs/day. It gets to be quite disturbing trying to get a good night of sleep. It reminded me of a scene from the movie My Cousin Vinny. On a better note, the coffee machine makes Latte 24/7, that's very good when you can't sleep...

We stayed one night at the Red Roof Inn. We pretty much just slept there. We were at Sea World all day checked in at 8:30pm and then we walked to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. I thought it was a comfortable walking distance (5-7 blocks). My husband thought the walk was a little long. The best part of staying at the hotel was the helpful staff. We had the address for returning our rental car, but could not find the street on the map. The staff used mapquest, but got a different address than we had been given. They called the rental company for us and got step by step instructions for us.

Proximity to Riverwalk. Public areas hot and uncomfortable, coffee maker in lobby not functioning. Right on I37 and traffic noise.

The room was clean, but lacked such things as a drainstopper for the bathtub, a second garbage can, and enough towels. We had to substitute the tub rug for a handtowel our first day there. BE WARNED - The hotel is right off of the freeway. If you can't sleep if it isn't dead quiet, you won't sleep. Also, the hotel is on the outskirts of the city.

We got in late, but we called ahead to ensure we had a room. The sink drain was disconnected and when we called to have it fixed we were told it would be the next day. There were no more rooms, so I fixed it myself. The AC was pretty bad and the next day it was a sauna. They gave us another room thankfully. We came back through and stayed one night prior to departure. Again, the AC sucked. It's 98 in SA and the AC sucks. The pool was clear as a bell when we got there on the 7th. When we came back on the 13th it was milky white. The good stuff. Great location. 99-119 per night. Easy walk to the river. Great parking. Decent breakfast and the staff is helpful. If it's broke, don't expect it to get fixed while you're there.

The rooms were clean and roomy in a close proximity to downtown San Antonio. The hallways were a little old looking and breakfast consisted of packaged muffins, coffee, and juice. Overall good hotel for the money. The lobby, hotel exterior was very clean and attractive. The hallways were a bit musty and drab looking. The room was nice and efficient for the price.

location was good close walk to alamo and river walk free parking unheard of everywere else that alone makes it worth the walk rooms were fine shower needed calk around edges but was clean need more house cleaning staff room didnt get cleaned until 5 or 6 pm but called down for clean towels and they brought them right up all in all not a bad place to stay if you dont want to spend alot on the room

Fairly convenient to the Riverwalk area and the Convention Center. It was nice to have secure parking this close to downtown. Very friendly and helpful staff.
