Location was great with easy access to Trains, Historic Downtown, Mt Vernon and Arlington Cemetery. Compared to prices at other hotels/motels in the area this was the best deal. We had an easy time catching trains to D.C. and was right off major roads to get into and out of the area easily.

The decorations were kind of OK. Checking in through bullet proof glass. It is clean, but it is by no means fancy. I stayed there for one night, not even many hours, from 1 am till check-out at 12, because I was going to visit a college nearby there. It was good enough for that. What really turned me off was having to check in through a bullet proof glass wall, because it made the place seem dangerous, and it was also hard to hear the guy behind the counter to deal with everything.

This hotel has very poor quality. It faces the busy street. My family had terribe experiences staying this hotel. -Paul

Our second day there we found a small roach in the bathroom. We saw two more the next day. We stayed in other Red Roof Inns during our trip and they were much better and cleaner than this place. The area behind and around the hotel is dirty and run down. The metro (Huntington station) is over a miles walk from the hotel through a questionable neighborhood. The last 0.2 of a mile near the hotel doesn't have a sidewalk and is on a high speed, multilane road. There is a bus that stops 0.2 miles from the hotel that goes to Huntington and Pentagon stations. We took this bus most days. When going to Pentagon station, the bus runs through old Alexandria which seems like a nice area. Even if we hadn't seen roaches, I would find a hotel closer to the metro or with a shuttle to the metro next trip.

When I arrived I realized that the price was $30.00 a night cheaper on the front desk than what I paid Orbits. The room was extremilly small the tv did not work properly. The wireless service was through a paying card(not free). The room was dark and the furniture looked old and in a way abandoned. My expirience was disapointing and if you look at my reciept I stayed there one night and cancelled your services and moved to Days Inn two blocks away where I found a beter hotel for less than what you were charging me. Days Inn had free continental breakfast and free internet. If you honor your warranty please refund me my money because the price was not what you warranteed.thank youRod Estradaph [@]

Broken smoke detector, heating permanently on. Arrived and checked in. Clerk sent me to third floor where he thought the room was located, but he didn't point out the elevator. Got to the room that was clearly occupied or recently vacated and trashed. It was in a line of rooms that were permanently occupied by families from India. Got to new room in the location where clerk thought it might be. Smoke alarm dangled from wire in wall. Heat was permanently on so I had to run air conditioning on max to cool room off (it was 35 degrees outside). Took morning shower and bathroom flooded. TV speaker was broken with very poor volume. Don't send your worst enemy to this.

The area has seedy hotels nearby. There are no sidewalks to walk on and the traffic speeds by, making walking to the the train station [15 minutes away] kind of dangerous. The room had nasty carpet that never was swept, lint on the floor that never moved. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The staff did fix a light that did not work and they would get a cab very quickly. The hotel is in a poor area for restaurants and/or shopping. At night when we returned from D.C. on the train [Huntington station] we took a cab because we were afraid to walk after dark. There is free hot chocolate and coffee in the lobby, but nowhere to grab breakfast. There is a small laundry room on the third floor where the ice machine was located but it is a place where a person could get assaulted or robbed because no one can see in and there is no camera for the lobby staff to see what is going on. I was afraid and nervous when I did laundry there.

I just want to say that i had a great time. this was my first time out on New Years and i had an awesome time. the stay was very nice, it was too cold to swim, but had lots of clean towels and received hot coffee in the morning. i will be back real soon...

The day staff was very accomodating and friendly. The night staff made me feel awkward. There was no coffee pot in the room and I travel with my own coffee. The night staff acted as though the creamer's cost came out of their own pocket The linens were not clean enough for me. They were old and over used. The staff day staff was great. The night staff was very stingy with the creamer.

Please don't make this mistake!!! Keep away from this dirty, noisy and very bad keeped inn. All, I mean ALL rooms smell terrible (mix of smoke, humidity and cheap cleaners), mattresses are at least 30 years old, same age for the AC units and chairs. The worst is the staff, very rude and "I don't care" culture. It was the first time in one Red Roof, anf for sure, the last one!!! Please, don't make the same mistake!

The Red Roof Inn Alexandria was a decent hotel. I got what I paid for even though I don't think it is worth the price. The location is VERY close to the interstate so that made it convenient. I only stayed over night so I wasn't expecting any special amenities. It seems like a safe neighborhood, but I only stayed one night and I was by myself and left and returned at odd hours and did not feel threatened. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it. However, I don't know whether or not I felt comfortable enough to stay for a long period of time (i.e. a week)

Nothing. It was way overly priced for the accommodations. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for 5 days while doing the DC tourest thing. Motel was convenient to downtown(about 15 mins). Not a fancy place but was clean the staff was helpful and lots of places to eat. If you go to DC hit USDA cafeteria at C & 14th st, great food and cheap.

The first room I went into had to have the heat set at 100 degrees. The next room was cooler but just as worn as the other. Small rooms, dated insides, no amenities.

The hotel was clean, pleasant and convenient to downtown and the airport. This hotel was a good value for the cost, it was clean, pleasant and convenient to downtown and the National airport.

The Red Roof would have been a good value except the location is challenging, unless you rent a car. The motel is a about a mile from the Metro, and getting to the bus involved walking near a busy highway, without sidewalks for two blocks. The interiors of the motel were somewhat modernized and what would have been a cheap motel complete with 70-80's decor was saved by some good color choices and a few nice touches. My room was small and the large window had to remined draped due to the breezeway connecting all the rooms, and the fact that anyone walking by would have an excellent view of the entire room. Staff were friendly, and helpful the room was clean and the bed firm without being stiff. There are very few nearby restaurants, and snacks can be found in vending machines in the back of the motel.

The room was coomfortable but older. Location did not appear real safe at night but easy to get on/off the expressway. Hotel staff were not able to help with getting directions, etc to tourist attractions.

The room was clean and comfortable, close to restuarants and malls and i also liked the fact that bathroom was seperate from the vanity area.
