My sister and I visited the Red Rock for a girls weekend getaway. We were lured in by the incredible mid week room rate, but were disappointed from that point on. Shown to our room - automatic drapes won't work and we don't want to force the mechanism. Ask the front desk to repair, but when we return to the room the drapes still don't operate, but the staff has manually closed them so we wouldn't notice. Another trip to the front desk - this time the manager tells us that the drapes are broken and it may be another day or so to fix them. After expressing our displeasure he agrees to upgrade us to a signature suite. The new room was very nice - but looked like it hadn't been dusted in a least a week. After first night there we never received turndown service as noted. First day at pool - hard to find service for food and beverage and music was monotonous electronica. Asked concierge about the free shuttle service on Monday night and was abruptly told that the last shuttle had already returned so unless we wanted to pay - each way for a cab we were out of luck. Absolutely no night life at this hotel except on Friday and Saturday - even the restaurants close at 10 p.m. Dining - ate at Terra Rosa - absolutely abysmal. Primavera risotto consisted of al dente rice with frozen peas and carrots. Spinach pizza tasted like a saltine cracker with steamed spinach. Manager at Terra Rosa was accommodating and brought us some different food - but that wasn't stellar. Also ate at the mexican restaurant - a step above Don Joses. This is not Vegas it is Summerlin! Locals only.

Red Rock Hotel/Resort Casino, while located far off the strip, offered every possible amenity. So much so that we really didn't need to go anywhere else to have great food and great fun. It's all in one lovely place!

Problems: Good luck finding the hotel from the parking garage; as usual in Vegas everything is centred around the smokey casino. The business centre is very expensive to access the internet. Restaurants are nothing special. The pool closes way to early. Positive: Very friendly staff, well maintained, clean, comfortable beds, beatiful rooms, marble bathrooms, close to Red Rock Canyon, shopping and freeway. Great pools. Comments: This place is basically a beautiful hotel in a quiet area. It gets busy on the weekend and there are usually good deals during the week. They have a bowling alley, movie theatres and a food court. Get a cheap rental car if you're staying here, Vegas is very easy to get around in by road.

we have been to vegas a dozens times. and each time we try to make it a point to stay at a different hotel each time.. it's not that bad a drive. during our five days at the resort we must have gone for dinner or shopping four or five trips. more comfortable and so deadly hot. this is our fourth trip to vegas in the summer and everytime we prepare ourselves on how hot it can get. there's a bowling alley on the resort and plus a movie theathre too. so great for family. there's also a food court inside the hotel too if u craving for that kind of thing. i do not recommend the evening buffet there. the breakfast buffet is ok, but then again you're only paying 6.99. good for a fresh omellete, fruit and coffee. there are many resturants nearby the hotel. the decor of the hotel is nice and my kids loved the flat panel tv by the tub when taking a bath. when staying at this resort i do recommend u rent a car, i recommend everytime u come to vegas to rent a car parking is free everywhere. there is one thing about this hotel i don't like is the rooms next to yours is a little thin. u can hear people coughing at night or even using the washroom. so if u have party goers be prepared not to sleep or ask to move. i was lucky because my other part of the family was next door.

Loved the hotal and the pool was great. We had two rooms on the 16th floor. One room was a strip view and one was the mountain view. Try to get a mountain view room, we also had a view of the pool. My kids loved the hotel. The pool is unbelievable!! The kids spent 4 hours a day at the 10 different pools! Loved the fact that the Resort was off the strip. The a day resrt fee plus was excessive, but we loved the apples and the free bottles of water. We will be staying there again the next time we go. The Kids Quest is excellant and my kids wanted to keep going, the bowling alley was a great time and the movie theaters with the stadium seating are great. We loved the Hachi restaurant. The sushi was great. The 24 hour cafe was not good. The buffet was a great value and offer a discount for kids and also for people with the Boarding Pass players card. We went to the strip only once to visit some places the kids wanted to go. You need a car if you want to explore the area around. This was a luxorious hotel for both the kids and for the parents. The shower is great and the sunken tub is wonderful. Also our flight was not until 11:30pm, the hotel let us stay in the room for free until we had to leave for the airport. That was unexpected but a nice touch! I have stayed on the strip many times before, but will now be returning to the Red Rock for my future visits.
