my review is not about the hotel. It is about the resturant located in the hotel, Ripples Riverside Grill. It was the worst dining I have ever experienced. The service was very slow. Our waitress didn't seem interested in us,she never even offered us drinks. The food was cold and my order was wrong. Then the next day we noticed that our credit card was charged an extra 12 dollars!! I called and talked to the manager and he never once apologized! It was awful!

The hotel is older and could use some updating, but the location is fabulous. Easy walking distance to Gonzaga and downtown Spokane via the river trail. The key card entry was quite frustrating as it only worked about 30% of the time.

Clean, friendly and convenient. A great hotel, very clean and the staff was great. Beds are comfortable and it is right on the water downtown so we were able to walk everywhere!

I had the misfortune of staying there on Thanksgiving day. My companion and I went to the almost deserted dining room. We both ordered different items. I had prime rib which came on top of mashed potatoes. I ordered medium and received bloody. This left the mashed potatoes bloody also. It was disgusting. My companion had turkey and the meal equalled the quality of a frozen dinner. Service was terrible and the price for the meal very high. Never will I stay there again.

Very nice central location; quiet; near walking trail; room wasn't very clean (found water bottle and other items under beds from previous guests plus toilet wasn't very clean); when I checked out they wouldn't give me a receipt (said I had to get it from 3rd party provider).

Great beds and upgraded furniture. Nice showers. Good beds and coverings. Clean feeling with nice bathroom. Conveniently located, easy to find. We heard the pool was nice but didn't go in it. Quiet area of town right off the river. Staff was friendly and attentive.

In all fairness, it was 12:30 AM on a weekday when I checked in, the bar and restaurant were closed. I was hungry. The room was very cold and musty smelling, the heating/cooling unit was off. The hotel is tired looking on the inside and in need of refurbishing. Breakfast in the morning was terrible, the hashbrowns cold and the omelet swimming in grease.

The Red Lion River Inn is very beautiful in the fall. Quiet, serene and comfortable

The parking was free. Old hotel, noisy, andplain. There is nothing special about this hotel, its a bed. The hallways are noisy and the beds are uncomfortable.

I stayed while seeing my daughter at Gonzaga University. I really had such a great experience with the front desk staff. They even helped me make future resevations for my next stays for the next year! The food in the restaurant was great the service was a little slow but not bad. Their fitness center was brand new with plasma tv's on all the exercise equipment. It was a great stay and I look forward to staying here through this next year!

Very nice property close to downtown. No elevators, so request 1st floor if you have baggage.

This hotel is ok for the price, but we won't stay again. Our bathroom didn't have a fan, so after a shower the bathroom would remain hot and steamy for awhile. The tub hadn't been cleaned before our stay, and wasn't cleaned in the 4 days we were there. The beds were tossed back together every day while we were out, sheets never changed. The restaurant was the worst experience. There were 6 of us and we were shown to a table and had our order taken. Our waitress never came back to our table. Eventually our food was brought by someone else and again we were left with no service. No coffee refill, no "how is the meal", and no check. We eventually gave up and went to the front to find someone to pay. This was a nice looking restaurant, with prices that were too high for the quality of food and service.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful. The hallway carpets were rather dirty. After reading some of reviews, I was afraid about what we would find, but the room was very nice and clean which is the most important thing!

Front desk was VERY helpful in changing our rooms next to each other. The hotel met our standards. The food was good & we sat outside next to the River Walk. Just wish the hallways looked as nice as the rooms did. The rooms were very nice.

The Red Lion River Inn is very central to shopping, walking distance to River front park. The kids had fun in the outdoor pool and playing tennis. The rooms are very clean & roomy. Has a very peaceful walkway along the river.

Great location on the river and close to downtown. In the building we stayed in you had to leave the water running to keep it warm enough to use - It took 5 minutes before it would warm up. Nice hotel in great location on the river. Rooms are spacious but do not have a fridge or microwave. However the ice machine was convenient.

Stayed here on a package deal through Travel online. Very close to Gonzaga...maybe a 5 minute beautiful walk along the river. The room was well appointed, with a nice bathroom (no sink outside bathroom), plenty of reading light, a microwave and fridge, and large mirrored closet. This hotel is multiple builidings, so it can be a bit of a walk from the main office/restaurant. However, if you are driving, you can park your car right next to your building and enter with your key through a locked outside door. The restaurant had excellent, well presented food, and I never wanted for cheerful service. In fact, they printed my boarding passes for me at the front desk for my return flight. Highly recommend to people wanting to visit or connect with students at Gonzaga. The Fairfield and Courtyard by Marriott are right across the river, and I used to stay there, but this one is closer and the restaurant beats the Perkins across the river. On time shuttle to the airport as well.

One gal at the desk went out of her way to accomodate a special request we had (we wanted my elderly mother to stay in a room next to us) Unfortunately, the first person we dealt with really didn't want to help us.When the second gal overheard the conversation she went out of her way to help us. I wish I would have gotten her name, because I really appreciated her. The service in the restraunt was really slow all three times we ate there, but we really enjoyed the food once we got it. Our room was nice, but wasn't cleaned until after 3:00 one day, and one day because we were in the room in the afternoon never got cleaned.Despite these things, I would still stay again.
