visit with family , wish they had a hot tub and pool water was not clear but the water was warm maybe the pool should have underwater lights also they should offer free breakfast for the price of the hotel room all the other hotels in the area offer free breakfast.

June, 2009
Good water pressure in the shower. No breakfast, no coffe/tea in the lobby.

I was very unhappy with our hotel stay. There is NO HOT TUB despite fact that all the advertising states there is.. even down to the envelope w/the room keys...the pool water was very cloudy and cold. My room had ants in it and the beds were horrible. The restaurant was the only bright spot to this stay. The sauna was not on ... and some of the equipment in the fitness room was not usable. Overall, I was not satisifed.. not the Red Lion quality I am used to frankly.

I am a stickler for clean. This room was clean and neat, no problems there. And everything was fairly new which was nice. The staff was nice and friendly. The problem was when I walked into my room and noticed a smell, I am very sensitive to smell. It smelled like oily scalp. I know that sounds weird - but I quickly pinpointed it to the pillows! There were a total of 7 bed pillows between the 2 beds and after peeling back the pillow cases, although everything else in the room was fairly new, the pillows were visibly stained and used. I did leave a note to the housekeeper for a new pillow but did not receive one and figured that they probably didn't have any on site since all 7 of mine were old. I just slept on a few bunched up towels the next night. Everything else was fine, my recommendation is to bring your own pillow if you can. Hotels should use allergen reducing pillow cases which can be washed between stays, it would reduce dust mites and smells!

The bed was so comfortable! I slept better at the Red Lion than I have in my own home in a long time! We spent some time in the lounger, and the bartender was great. He was happy to take pictures for us, and they even had Wii bowling going on! The location made it very easy to find.

Friendly staff. Older rooms, had to change rooms, AC didn't work. Friendly staff, room was adequate for our large family.

I have stayed here before and they have upgraded everything - the exterior of the hotel, the rooms which are now really nice. They have wood floors as you enter, then carpeting, a nicedesk, and a very comfortable new easy chair even if the chair is a lime green color. The restaurant is also quite nice. It's a steakhouse in the evening and has breakfast/lunchuntil 2pm. Had breakfast and dinner and both were good. It was a good, comfortable place to stay before they remodeled, and now it is a really nice place with pleasant staff and a good value for the money. Highly recommend.

The Salem Red Lion was very comfortable. It had a cozy down comforter/bedspread and soft padding covering the mattress on the beds. The room was pretty small, but the large bathroom and cozy beds made up for the small room. It is centrally located near the capitol area, hospital and lots of great dining places. The freeway ( I-5 ) is very close, but no noise from the traffic was heard. A good place to snuggle in for the night!

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Hard to make left hand turn onto highway. This hotel was an excellent place to stay. They were helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate our wishes and requests. I would stay here again and again.

The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff was very courteous. The hotel was well kept and the staff was courteous. Room service was also prompt, but a little expensive.

Nothing. This place is a dump. Dirty, old, mold smell. Beware this is not even close to being a 3 star plus hotel !
