We were traveling and this location was very convenient. It was right along 101 and easy to find. The room was clean and equiped with microwave and refridgerator. My only criticism is that I feel we paid too much for the room. It is overpriced for the location.

Nothing really. Stained carpets, 1 little bar of soap, burned out light bulbs. This place is worn out. Stained carpets, 1 little bar of soap for the room, no garbage can for the bathroom, vanities are too short, burned out light bulbs in the vanity light, mold in the grout in the shower, etc. I won't stay here again.

The good part. Extremely good and friendly front desk staff. Nice two-room room for the family. The front desk upgraded from standard bay view room without a problem. The upgrade was $. No hidden fees like "resort fee" or "parking" or "fitness room." Some plumbing had been done one the sink and it was not cleaned up. The carpet was wet in front of the sink. A used coffee filter was in the maker. Front desk clerk was sorry and embarrassed. These are nice rooms and a nice hotel. Would definitely stay again.

We have stayed at this hotel twice now, and I will say that honestly, I am quite a picky person when it comes to places to eat and/or sleep! The Red Lion in Eureka is a good value for the price, as there aren't many nice places to stay in Eureka (that we have found). My only complaint was that during our 1st stay, the 1st night, we were in a room that was on the parking lot side of the hotel (aka freeway side) rather than the bay side. It was so noisy, that even with ear plugs and the tv on at a high volume, I got no sleep. They moved us the next morning, but is always a hassle to repack and move rooms. As long as you are on the bay side, it is a quiet and comfortable nights sleep. Also a pet friendly hotel which for us is great as we like to bring our little dog with us. We are always leary of "pet friendly" hotels as you never know what you might find (fleas, dog hair, odor, etc), however you would never know that this hotel allows pets unless you were traveling with one or saw one in the hotel! Great place to stay.....although we have not eaten at the hotel, the breakfast in the morning always smells fantastic! We usually venture over to the cookhouse, but we are going to try the hotel restaurant next time.

The Motel itself was very nice. Rooms were big, clean and quiet. Restuarant seemed overpriced, but nice to have lounge on location. Very disappointed that the advertised Jacuzzi was a "seasonal" only Jacuzzi. We never saw mention of that anywhere. I do feel it is a bit overpriced unless able to secure a discounted room rate. Still, would consider staying at this motel in the future if the "price" was right.

Great location. The hotel is getting old and it shows mostly in the building itself, not the furniture, etc.

What started off as a frustrating circumstance that turned out to be more online travel website problem than Red Lions turned into a pleasurable experience thanks to the front desk staff at Red Lion. They accomodated us with an upgrade when they realized that online travel website had made a mistake on booking. The room was great. All of the staff were very helpful, even down to the request for extra coffee for the pot in the room. I would definetly stay here again, because of the staff. The only thing i would change is that i would skip using online travel website next time and call Red Lion directly!

I had a laptop and was able to use the internet with ease from my room! I didn't need to go to another room to have access to the internet. The clerk was very friendly and helpful.

It was right off the 101, not difficult to find. The staff was not responsive to request. The wireless did not work, had to get some box to do Internet through a cable. Notified the hotel four times that the toilet did not flush properly and they never fixed it.

The Red Lion Inn was, in general, a great choice in Eureka. In my opinion some of the best features were: friendly staff, large comfortable size rooms, clean and modern bathrooms, exercise room, business center, restaurant and bar in hotel. We did not utilize the swimming pool or jacuzzi as they were outside and it was too cold and rainy. I have only two small complaints. It would have been nice if there were a coffee available in the lobby for patrons. The bed was not all that comfortable as their were sink holes where people lay and the mattress was not firm. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Clean room. Air conditioning didn't work well in the room.

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel for our family vacation was due to the fact that the website listed that breakfast was included in their restaurant. When we arrived we were told that breakfast was no longer included. Being that we stayed a total of 6 nights, we would have chosen a different hotel. They currently do not offer any type of complimentary breakfast. Also they did not have a laundry facility on site.

Friendly staff. Room was dirty, smelled funny, hotel extremely outdated. Nice staff but gross hotel. Our room upon arrival smelled funny like urine. The room was not clean. There were hairs on the bathroom floor, and the hotel phone looked as if it had never been cleaned or sanitized, disgusting. My husband woke up with bites all over his calves, ankles, and forearms. There was definitely something lurking between our sheets. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I recommend the town of Eureka. Overall this trip fell far below our expectations.

It was very nice, clean and comfortable. There was nothing to dislike. This was a very nice place to stay while on our trip to CA. It was updated, modern, quiet and I loved the view looking out onto the ocean a few blocks away. We were spoiled after two days of luxury in this hotel.
