This hotel is old and needs some TLC. The rooms are remodeled but the hotel exterior needs some rennovations as well. Our room door had been kicked in at one time or another and was not completely repaired. We could see daylight through the cracks in the door and were unsure that the locks would hold. On a more positive note, the check-in staff was friendly and there are nice restaurants within walking distance.

Location; and nice room. Definitely not a three star - 2-2 1/2 max.

This is the furthest from a 3 star hotel that I've ever seen. Did a online price deal for a 3 star thinking I would get the hilton or the valley river inn. Nope, got the dump of a motor inn. Crappy rooms, average restaurant, location bad. Really, don't go.

From the outside, this hotel looks run-down and scary. The family was pleased with the location, so I gave it a chance ... and we were pleasantly surprised by a very large, tastefully decorated and updated room. Queen beds were very comfortable; large bathroom with spa-grade toiletries was a treat.Front desk service was below average. When checking in, I asked if there were a better rate and the manager was almost rude in reply. He also would not give us any information on local restaurants other than to recommend their on-site facility (we looked at the menu -- not much variety and overpriced).I might stay again ... but I'd rather not.

Room nice, comfortable. Outside looks old, dated, somewhat unkempt - very off-putting at first. Nice, comfortable rooms - surprising considering the initial impression given by the somewhat dated and unkempt exteriors. Realizing this is an older property, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room.

This place is awful for what it claims to be. It is in no way worthy of a three star rating. We had three rooms, all had problems. One had a toilet that ran all night and flushed on its own. The other had a bathroom door that could not be opened all the way because the toilet was in the way. The third had a moldy a/c unit and stained ceiling. If you're traveling with people that cannot climb stairs or carry their luggage up, be warned that although the property has only two floors, there are no elevators. The windows, walls, floors and doors are paper thin. You will hear everyone's everything staying here. They allow pets, which some people see as a plus; I am allergic so I was miserable most of the time spent in my room. The rooms look nice at first glance, but they really aren't. They appeared clean, but it was surface clean only. There were noticeable dirty spots like the coffee maker (complete with coffee in the pot and used grounds from previous guest), mold around the bathroom window, grime on the counter, errant hairs and a strange smell in all three of our rooms.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and in fact, would go out of my way to tell people to avoid it. If it was billed in the same class as a Motel 6 or something like that, then ok. It would be decent for that. But when it is billed as three-star and as having luxurious accommodations, I feel like that is blatant false advertisement and a disservice to the Red Lion brand and to unsuspecting travelers.

The helpful people. After almost checking in, we needed a room on bottom floor and they scrambled and found one. Nothing. Good place to stay.

Enjoyed my stay. Clean & comfortable room. Good breakfest.

The bed was very comfortable. The Red Lion hotels have the best beds and great amenities. Very helpful and pleasant staff. The restaurant/lounge area was a little 70's Vegas, but the food was actually really good.

I was a guest here BEFORE the renovation, things now are great. Better rooms, great beds, new furniture, refrig's & microwaves..nice pool and hot tub. Stayed with a large group, hotel did a fine job and taking care of us. Nice access to running paths, close to downtown..and wonderful shopping across the street.

With a business meeting I attended, noticed the rooms are tired...the rest of the hotel looks great since the remodel. The restaurant and lounge look great...the desk is very nice with the granite counters and the staff was superb!. Our resvrvations were messed up from our office and the great staff went out of their way to make it all right, what could have been a disaster truned to a wonderful stay. I will come back often and recommend this place to others.

Comfortable bed, good internet access, clean room. Unattractive outside, nees much updating, pool area old and not so clean. Convenient location, room was comfortable, shabby looking outside, unattractive pool and area around pool. Closer to a 2 star motel, definitely not a 3.

Not much to like. Location, orientation of rooms to parking lot, apperance, overall cheap looking decor. It would take a far stretch of imagination for this establishment to be 3 star. It would more likely be 2 star at best. The carpet in room was heavily stained from all the patrons tracking dirt and oil from parking lot directly into rooms. Our room was "refreshed" not too long ago, but decors are Walmart quality. The rooms are dark once curtains are drawn (even with all lights on).

"I travel to eugene once a month, the Red Lion has done a great job in improving there room, spaces and staff. Everything is cleaner, nicer and more friendly will staff. Love the new beds, microwaves and refrigerators. "

Nothing. Dirty rooms. This is a 2 star at best and when we got there they gave us a room that wasn't even cleaned. The cable in the next room didn't work and the hotel was very out of date.

"i was expecting the worst with all the poor reviews, but turned out to be a very comfortable stay. my room was clean, tidy and fresh. front desk and resturant service was kind and speedy. abit expensive considering it looked like a motel, but i had a good night sleep. will stay again on my visit to eugene."

Close to freeway, shopping and dinning. 2 star at best.

The room met our needs. Landscaping in public/common areas was lacking or ripped out. Not quite a 3.5 star, would consider it a 2.5 or 3 when the landscaping is improved.
