We were there on emergency leave we had to two Grandchildren flown from Colorado to the Shriners Burn Center in Galveston, when we arrived in the Lobby it smelled like an out house and smelly.it was already after 11:00 in the evening and when we walked up 3-flights of stairs, w/luggage yes no elevators and open there door to the room it was like welcome to hell it was undescribable, nasty as hell, smell of urine My spouse went into a severe asthma, we got the hell out of there it is a shame that the health department has not close the dive down, the roomrate should be free if you dare to stay....... shame on you for even having this place on your web site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the hotel was quite nice. The young lady checking us in was extreamly friendly. I always got a friendly smile from the staff. I have six children and they ALWAYS left me fresh towels for everone. It was close to the beach and easy to get to. It's not an extravagant hotel but it's nice, cozy and CHEAP. Due to our economic times I was under a budget for our vacation and I picked the cheapest hotel I could find thinking it was a sacrifice we were going to have to make if we were going to take a vacation this year. What a pleasant suprise! The rooms were clean the bathroom smelled like bleach ( Always a good sign in a hotel! It means they are clean), friendly staff (I think it was family owned, but I could be wrong), and great location! Thanks Red Carpet Inn!! Manuel

When we checked in we immediately went back to get our money back becuase there had to be another motel that was safe or at least clean, when we returned to the office there was other customers that were doing the same thing we were and they were denied a refund so we didnt even try since we already paid for the room...this is a non- refundable motel...when you pay for the room you are stuck. The rooms were distgusting, there were feces in the pool i was seriously concerned about my families safety...do yourself a favor and find another place to stay in Galveston..trust me its worth the extra money....i would have paid double what i paid just to stay somewhere else

The staff there were super nice. They furnished me with a map of the city and suggested various things for us to do. They checked on us when we arrived late to our room. The are was quiet even though the ferry was right next to us. Overall stay was good.

It is not kid friendly unless you want to risk your child getting the Nile virus. The mosquitos are as big as roaches, we thought there were roaches until we killed them & there was blood everywhere. The AC did not work & they would not put us in another room or have someone fix it or give us a discount unless we stayed another night. That was never going to happen. The beds were very hard. They claimed the beds were new & I told him he needs to send them back while he still has the receipts then. I will never stay at the "Risky Inn" ever again. I would rather sleep in my car than here ever again. Dirty people own it, the office is nasty & stinks too. The rooms smell like mildew. The pool was even green in the middle of the summer. You can not walk out of the door without getting attacked by mosquitos the size of wasps. SO whatever you do, reserve a better room at all times when traveling to Galveston even if you think it is not necessary, just to avoid staying at this hotel.

The desk clerk told us to "get off my [*] property-I don't like your [*] attitude little girl," when I tried to show him my reservation email that showed the price that I booked was $70 less than what he wanted to charge me. Be was in his cell phone the entire time I was trying to check in, he got huffy when I had to go double check the plate numbers off of my car, and instead of using my name he kept calling me little girl-I'm 28. I would not use this place if it were the only room left on the island.

I didn't feel safe at all in this hotel. It is off the main tourist areas and feels like a drug area. I did not sleep at all.

First of all let me say that the pictures dont look anything like the hotel. The "breakfast area" only has two tables. The property itself looks like it was taken out of a sesame street show. We checked in just about 3pm and the front desk was nice and friendly when we were paying them. To start it off they gave us the wrong room, 2 double beds instead of 2 queen beds and it was smoking when we reserved a nonsmoking because we had a toddler with us. We went to the office and got switched to our right room. We had the room for 3 people but we came with other family to Galveston which were going to leave after dinner. We were going to the beach together so we brought in our food and went to Stewart Beach until about 630. We then came to the hotel and decided to take a swim in the pool while the manager kept circling the premises starring at us. Two by two we went in to take showers and around 8:30 the owner comes banging on the door and starts to yell at us. Saying we're taking advantage of him that we're using up his utilities and our family that came with us need to leave, pay for another room or he was going to call the cops. He was rude and loud and demanded a response that second. And said he would make the decision for us and called the cops. My sister came to the door asking what was going on and the manager told her he wasnt going to argue with her and walked away. We were in the hotel an hour to an hour and a half. We were going to go eat after we all had showered and my family that came with us was leaving later that night. We wanted our money back and he refused. He was so rude and was terrible they were just money hungry. He was complaining about us using his utilities which was probably $3 we used in water. That was terrible and I am warning you dont go there. You'll regret it. I never knew there was a rule about having guests over. Oh and they dont have wi-fi. Even the police officer said they do this sort of thing all the time.We still want our money ba

The Red Carpet Inn at Galveston,Texas was not good. The beds were hard as rocks. The building was very run down. The only plus was that the pool was clean.

Very inconvient location unless you are catching the ferry to Crystal Beach. Nothing close by to eat. The bed was too firm. The rooms were clean. But they need snack machines of some type. The Continental Breakfast is a joke- cheap grocery store donuts! Very few television channels- you do get free HBO, but no tv guide to be found. Our comforter was torn. The doors to the rooms need to be painted. The front office had a weird smell and wasn't very inviting. Great location if you are planning on visiting Crystal Beach, as you can walk to the ferry. Definitely not worth the price.

This hotel was nothing I will ever return to I thought I was at some cheap inn.

Our first room had an extremely noisy fan in the bathroom, so we were moved to another room. This room had some very cheap and ugly curtains at the window. The bed and tables were probably new, but that is all. The bathroom was the worst I have ever seen in any motel room. The toilet rocked back and forth and the floor was wet due to the leaking at the base of the toilet. The baseboards were rotted and molded. The room and the bathroom had been painted--but a third grade child could have done a neater job! We spent the day after checking in looking for other accomodations, and we left! The desk clerk was very rude when we checked out.

The hotel was a great place to stay for the night and at a great price. There was no dining facilities at or near the hotel. Without transportation, we had to order in pizza. The rooms were clean but needed a little maintenance.
