Hotel not clean, rooms not clean, carpets in room is dirty torn and full of black spots. I requested a king bed I got 2 singles. I was solo. After many calls to change my room they combined my beds. Not very comfy. The lady answering the service calls will not connect me to the duty manager. It should be a 3 star or less. The only plus is the location and good for family with kids.

The location is terrific for a getaway from the bustle of the city. The hotel is partially in the jungle which offers a great tropical feel. I would highly recommend this hotel for families, there are endless options for family entertainment with the children's pool and activities center. Also easily accessible attractions on Sentosa. Service is incredible, the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and meet your needs. Nearby restaurants are terrific and affordable, particularly Coasties which has numerous tables on the sandy beach and outstanding food, although not Asian choices, still terrific. Hotel does not include breakfast which is advertised in some travel books about Singapore. Perhaps it is in the more expensive rooms, we stayed in a Deluxe Sea View room. Free buses and tram on Sentosa make it easy to explore Sentosa, and free bus from Hotel to Harborfront make it easy to get to the city. Use the SIA hop on bus which is the easiest way to navigate the city taking you directly to the most popular places including museums, Chinatown and Raffle's Hotel, then directly back to the resort. If I ever travel to Singapore again I would never stay anywhere else!

I liked this hotel, and I enjoyed to stay there. the only dissapoitment was the buffet breakfast, very poor choice of fruit and other dishes,i was not frechly prepared and they charge something like 34.Dollars..that's very expensive...for that money I would expect a better quality..

The room was okay. It is in desperate need of updating. At first I was disappointed when I saw the room but opened the window and saw the view of the water and it was all okay. We did not spend much time in the room as the resort is wonderful! We spent most of our time in lounge chairs overlooking the sea. We saw lots of monkeys, peacocks and huge lizards. It was very relaxing. Don't expect a lot from the room but you won't be disappointed by the location.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the room for the price. Room did not meet my expectations. Our rooms had views of the back side of the hotel grounds instead of the lovely ocean view we were hoping for with a balcony like many others had. It was in need of paint and some repair. We were not informed of transportation options to the hotel so we carried our luggage on a bus and got dropped off at the bottom of the hill below the hotel. At this point we were directed by a hotel employee with a walkie talkie to carry our luggage to the top of the hill or take it through the pool area to get to the desk. We ask for help with the luggage but he would not send anyone. This is a first for me in Asia as well. The location was excellent and the restaurant by the sea was lovely.

Would recommend for family vacation. Nice rooms with connecting door.Friendly staff. For being in Singapore, nice beach (you don't go there for the beach).

"Bring your small kids here! I couldn't get my son to come in off the water slides. He wore himself out all day on the water slides. EXCELLENT small kids pool areas. The package deals work well but are really expensive. Fun place if you have the money. The hotel is ok, the service is very good, the pool is awesome!"

Very nice resort with grate facilities. Fairly expensive and service lacked in some places at times. All in all for what we paid I expected what we got. Good place for families and relatively close enough to Orchard Road and surrounds.

This hotel did not rate 5 stars in the true sense but was quite satisfied with our stay. Booked the vacation rate with ocean view room that included breakfast and dinner, activities credit, and unlimited laundry. I am big fan of pay once and enjoy. With the constant heat and humidity, the facilities will always need attention but I will say that the staff more than made up for any shortcomings. From our welcome to check out, every staff member we came in contact with could not have been more friendly and helpful. The staff as a whole made this stay great. I was traveling with my 2 teenage sons and the nightly dinner buffet allowed them to be really adventuresome with quite an assortment of western, oriental, and Indian cuisine (to include grilled stingray). Plenty to see and do on Sentosa and the location allowed us to get an early start to the island's activities (highly recommend the swimming with pink dolphins). The hotel has a shuttle that takes you directly to public transportation off the island numerous times a day. We stayed here at the end of our 2 week vacation and made great use of the unlimited laundry service included with our nightly rate (what a change coming home with clean clothes). Highly recommended for families, pool was wonderful, and plenty of activities to keep the family from getting bored!

"Hotel staff gave us promotional room rate @ S$250. Suppose to be on 3-5 floor but upgraded by staff to 7th floor. Room undergoing revamp, strong paint smell. Painters painting balconies at past midnight! Room of acceptable size but not up to Shangri-La standards. Pool is great! Slides are fun for children. Don't really notice people obeying the 1.2m sign for the slides. Food is average, spread good. Staff really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable.Tip: Request for late checkout during check-in at busy periods."

"This hotel is situated in a lovely position, the exterior looks nice, and well looks the part until you arrive in the rooms!!! The rooms were old with 80's decor and we had a higher balcony floor which was nice but the gardens outside were neglected and the floor filthy. It is not what you would expect from a Shangri-La esp. at those rates. The pool is fantastic and the food is ok, room service food isn't fantastic. I would stay here only if I brought my family with small kids."

How this hotel classes itself as a 5* property is amazing! It is extrememly rundown and desperately needs a complete overhaul. Way too expensive.

This hotel seems quite run down. The rooms seem very old. This hotel charges top $ so you expect a high standard. I think there are much better deals available in Singapore.
