Description:
Experience a comfortable rest at the Ramada Limited Roswell, as you travel through southeastern New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment . The Ramada Limited provides hotel lodging for Roswell and the surrounding communities of Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs, Dexter, Lincoln, Hagerman, Artesia and Carlsbad. Roswell has long been known as the UFO and Alien Research center of the Southwest, and the Ramada Limited Roswell hotel is a great base from which to explore Alien Encounters and all the other numerous attractions of the area.
Although well known for alien activity, Roswell has much more to offer to the inquisitive traveler. The Historic District, which contains the Historical Museum of Southeast New Mexico, provides a glimpse into a simpler era, long since gone-by. The New Mexico Military Institute provides a beautiful campus for strolling, and the General Douglas L. McBride Museum. Nearby Lincoln is the site of Billy the Kid's Great Escape and the commemorative museum is well worth a look.
Although the area is rich in history of all kinds, the Ramada Limited Roswell features its very own attractions. The Ramada is set in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood, with easy highway access. We are just 2 miles from downtown, yet far enough away to be free of the usual congestion, noise, and chaos. The hotel is set around a large park-like courtyard and is centered by a full-sized sparkling Pool - which is enjoyed by both visiting families and business travelers alike. All guests also enjoy our complimentary Deluxe Continental Breakfast, fully equipped exercise room, game room, and guest laundry. All our rooms are larger than usual, contain a coffeemaker, free High Speed Internet Access, large selection of Cable TV channels featuring HBO and Cinemax, Iron and Board, and the new Ramada Signature Shower Experience with the Moen Revolution Showerhead and Citrus Ginger Spa Amenities. Many rooms also contain microwave and refrigerator.

Nice location, friendly staff at front desk. Room had harsh chemical smell. Carpet cleaner maybe? This room was adequate for our needs. Grounds were neatly kept. Room was neat and clean. There was a strong chemical smell in room. Carpet felt like it had been cleaned recently and much of the cleaning solution perhaps had dried on it. Unpleasant to be exposed to this for an entire night.

We arrived at 1:00 AM and discovered two small hand size towels for three people. There were no wash cloths, no bath towels and when we requested linens we were told by the desk to come back the next day as they were all locked up. Unfortunately, we had to be at our destination by 6:30 am, so no shower for us that day. We witnessed a repair of the room next door that had the door kicked in and found a bullet in our floor which led us to believe the room had not been cleaned well. The water was lukewarm at best and shower trickled slowly even at 4:00 am the next day when I attempted a shower. Continental breakfast was good though.

Clean and the sheets smelled clean. Quick easy and clean, didn't spend much time there.

I should have known this wasn't a clean hotel after reading the review about the dirty bed sheets. The carpeting was stained and gross. It looked as if dogs had gone to the bathroom on the floor in various places and it was hastily cleaned up. You'll feel more comfortable wearing shoes at all times in the room as your feet will get filthy if you walk on the floor barefoot. The bathroom had a toilet whose lid wouldn't stay up, so if you're a guy you have to hold the toilet lid up while you use it. To be more positive I will say the staff was nice, and the free wifi was handy, also the free continental breakfast was good. You can make your own fluffy waffles, and they have cereal, milk, bagels, donuts, fresh fruit, etc. It's a shame the hotel has an icky feeling in the rooms, it would be great otherwise.

Good breakfast. Bad location and TV broke, air conditioning so loud we couldn't use it. Would never stay there again.

We picked this hotel because we wanted our kids to swim and we could relax, but the pool was underconstruction and we had to find other activities for the children and its not easy after 5pm. So they were not happy and we weren't either...We even called to verify our reservations and the mangement never mention it.....but we learned what to ask next time....overall the roooms and the manager's attitude were excellent

nothing it was horrible everything the staff, the room the smell in the room horrible i would rate this as a 1/2 star hotel that my animals wouldn't even be fit to stay in. unclean and the odor in the room was horrible. Very scary place to stay

Hotel is very dirty, Sheets are stained and towels look soiled. Pool has about 6"" of green sludge. Staff was polite but this hotel needs lots of improvement, upgrading.

Friendly and accommodating staff, clean room, convenient. The staff was accommodating to make a change I requested, the room was clean and the environment was quiet and comfortable.

For a hotel to advertise pets welcom they have a funny way of showing it - upon check in - yes took my money knowing I had a small dog- they had you a 1/2 sheet of paper telling you that if you leave your pet in the room for any reason they will have the Roswell Pound seize your animal. I even tried to clarify - knowing that they meant if the dog wasnt' in a crate - nope even then.

Really dirty, paper thin walls. This hotel was so dirty that when you walked on the carpet and then got in the tub there were black foot prints in the bottom of the tub. We were woken up at 6 am every morning by the neighbors talking and coughing because the walls were so thin. You could hear every door in the hotel open and close all night and people talking in the hall. If you are single and looking for a cheap place to crash for one night, this is your hotel.

Not one thing. Rude staff, dirty, dated, broken, smelly, bad beds, shower not draining, door lock broken. Everything that you would not want in a motel is everything this motel IS and more.

Friendly staff, old hotel but recently remodeled. Far from town, looked old and not very secured. Good hotel, appears to be an old building with window mounted air condition units.

The courtyard area. Was in the older part of the city. Overall better than anticipated-clean and comfortable.

Pool and continental breakfast. Parking could have been better. This hotel is quite nice and I would recommend it.

The breakfast was great for my kids. It had mold in the bathroom. The hotel had a game room for the kids to play in. It was a shame that most of the games were broken, and the pool was too cold for the kids to swim in. But we did enjoy breakfast. I wish that it was a little cleaner. I don't like mold!

Overall the motel was fine. The cleaning staff could be more effective. Overall a decent hotel to stay at.

Location was close to my meeting, however it was far from everything else. Game and exercise room was not functional. Most machines didn't work, mold in shower, ironing board broken. One star hotel, some amenities (exercise machines, game tables) broken, pool not heated but clean, mold in shower stall.

Nothing, I will never stay there again. Room, service, location, price. Arrived at hotel, nice check, went to room, 13 gun shots down the street, made it to room, room smelled, very old style bathroom, small bath tub, AC smelled. 12 cable channels. Called for wake up call in the morning, glad that I woke up, no wake up call came, very disappointed.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
Quiet. Inconvenient location, older. Didn't like the location, older hotel, was quiet, no problems, seemed much more like a budget motel.
