The Ramada San Diego South located in Chula Vista is just 12 miles south of San Diego and 8 miles north of Tijuana Mexico. Considered to be one of Chula Vistas more popular hotels, we offer beautifully decorated and spacious rooms at an affordable price. Conveniently located off interstate 805 or just minutes from interstate 5 with easy access on and off the freeway.
The Ramada San Diego South offers amenities that include, free High Speed wireless internet in each room and all public areas, including the pool area. Coffee makers are also provided in each room as well as irons, ironing boards and hairdryers. Refrigerators and microwaves are available upon request. Splash around in our heated pool or just relax in our Jacuzzi. Free continental breakfast is provided every morning or enjoy a full breakfast menu at Loves Restaurant. At first glimpse we were a bit nervous when we arrived, mostly due to the rental car company said it was a bad area. Well that was completely false asside from the traffic noise from the freeway, the area was just fine. The rooms were extremely clean, maid service super friendly, and on top of things everyday. Would definetly stay again.

The curtain was nice and dark! Room was located next to pool -kids were loud in pool before 9am. Ice machine was broken, drink for juices was broken, needs more parking! - But room was nice and comfy.

Stayed for 4 nights for business in August 2008. Staff was very friendly, everything was very clean - as a matter of fact, while cleaning our room, the staff person stressed how important it was to vacuum the rug in a particular way so as to create a "nice pattern". My electronic key wouldn't work one morning and the staff helped me resolve the issue immediately. Some connectivity problems with the wireless internet - got better signal in the lobby/waiting area than in the room at times. The continental breakfast was nice - as long as you got there early. They have pastries, breads with toasters, all of the condiments - as well as cereal, juice, coffee and home made waffles. The pool area was nice, as was the spa/hot tub. Never heard any of our "neighbors" while in the room, it was very quiet. Very close to highways, short drive to the "main drag" in Chula Vista. Overall, a very nice experience.

Restroom in lobby out of order, when you take a shower the water temp goes from hot to cold. But heard no noise, room average. Close to freeway.

No surprises, no problems. Clean and quiet. Just how we like it. A short drive to just about all the attractions in the San Diego area for about half the price of a comparable room in San Diego.

Free WiFi, prompt staff. Hotel shows its age, but staff did their best to keep it orderly. Hotel is old. Musty smell from carpets. We stayed here for a convention and price wise it was a great. The free WiFi was also a bonus. Close to freeways and complimentary basic breakfast. Downside is the hotel shows it's age. In furniture and design. Rooms smelled musty and enclosed. The beds were ok but could have been more comfortable. We might consider this place again.

The price. Housekeeping came knocking at 8 AM. When I complained to the manager, she was rude and unresponsive. Decent hotel for the price, but housekeeping woke us up at 8 AM, and when I complained about that to the manager, she was rude and dismissive, saying it was nothing to complain about.

Refrigerator was wheeled to the room upon request and no deposit. That I was not given the opportunity to choose smoking vs. non smoking but room was not smelly. This hotel was definitely worth the money I chose to spend. Overall my stay was a nice one.

I went there for my daughter's high school graduation after not seeing my 2 kids for 2 years...I had a great time. The hotel was very nice and clean, they knew we had 4 people in our room but yet each day kept only leaving 2 towels so each day had to go downstairs for more towels, & looked forward to using the spa/jaccuzzi but it was closed the whole time I was there, although the pool was great. When I booked the room I booked there being it said there was a microwave and refrig in the room, my room had none of that and when I asked the girl at the desk said only the suites had those in them, their website does NOT state that otherwise I would've booked elsewhere because I had someone with me that takes insulin so needed the refrigerator.

This hotel was very clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and the free breakfasts were great! This hotel was perfect for us. We are a family of 5 who needed a nice, friendly place to come after a day at the beach to clean up and rest for the next day's adventure. The breakfast was great -with lots of options (such as Belguim waffles, yogurt, fruit, bagels, cereal, and so much more!). There was a coffee/tea machine providing free hot or iced drinks around the clock. This is a great for the price.

the ramada san diego south was a great value. the rooms were clean & beds were comfortable. their breakfast had more than the regular continental selections. location was very good for the sights we visited in san diego.

Relatively quiet, clean, and close to the freeway, shopping. Due to gas prices, it was a little far from places I would have normally visited. Although it was further south from downtown San Diego than I am used to staying, its proximity to I-805 made it easy to get to in about 20 minutes from downtown. It was relatively quiet, very clean, and close to two fair sized shopping malls in the local area. There is a Denny's right across the street, as well as a nice looking Mexican restaurant in the same parking lot with a Burger King and two gas stations.

Great room, shower and all the accessories. No refrigerator. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice room. Spacious, clean and very nice shower. A refrigerator would have been more convenient.

It was right off the freeway. It was not the cleanest place but it was a place to sleep. I liked the fact that we could park at the hotel without paying per day. The pool closed at 10 pm. It would have been nice if it stayed open longer we never had a chance to visit the pool but it would have been nice to. Other than that it was ok.
