Location. Carpet. A good motel for a family.
Date of Stay:
February, 2009
everything was great. nice room, clean, friendly staff. ONLY NEGATIVE THE DOOR CAME OPEN DURING THE NIGHT. WE HAD THE STAFF CHECK ALL KEYS
Date of Stay:
October, 2008
Thought the facilities were very nice, you didn't have to leave if you really didn't want to. It was also centrally located to many things. N/A I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only negative thing I could say with that we heard the people in the room next door quite clearly. Other than that everything was fine.

We stayed at Ramada in Altoona, PA & I was pleasantly surprised at what I got for the money. The pool was GREAT- very warm, clean, & also had a kiddie pool & a nice hot tub. The receptionist was friendly & I even locked my key in my room & she was happy to get me a 3rd one. They gave us adjoining rooms so we could share with our other room when we wanted. They were clean despite some of the previous comments made on this site. For breakfast we went to their restaurant (Complimentary). We had 2 choices of meals for free: 2 scrambled eggs, toast, hash browns, sausage, & your choice of beverage OR 2 french toast, hash browns, sausage, & your choice of beverage. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It was beautiful. Thanks for the great price.

The beds were extremely comfortable. Very nice mattresses. Carpet in the hallways was discolored in places. Otherwise a clean and comfortable hotel. We have stayed at this Ramada several times in the past, as we have family in Altoona, PA. We have always been pleased with our experience here. The rooms are clean and the non-smoking rooms are truly non-smoking rooms. The hotel lounge has been remodeled and updated. It is modern and comfortable and the staff is attentive. I am sure we will be returning to this Ramada in the future.

Room was dingy, AC too loud to sleep with while running, toilet ran all night, place need serious updating. Hallways dark and smelled, no security from outside.
Date of Stay:
June, 2008
Dining options within the hotel. Some service levels. The hotel was ok, for business travelers the wireless internet service was spotty at best. I tried to call for room service 4 days in a row with no answer the entire time I was there. The first night I called for about 30 minutes before giving up, the rest of the time I kept calling, just to see if someone would answer. The hotel amenities were good, dining options and the pool were nice.

For the price I expected more...rooms were dinghy and sheets were pilled. Hallways smelled. Night Front Desk Staff was mediocre at best. Day staff was much better. Workout room was available but most of equipment did not work and no one available if had a question. Would not stay here again.
Date of Stay:
March, 2008
The staff was helpful and courteous. The entrance ways were shabby looking. Different places in the hotel need updating or decorating. The lighting in the room and bathroom is poor. Dinner was good. I received a coupon for a free breakfast. I choose the French Toast. It was awful. It had the consistency of cardboard and no taste. I don't know if it is on the menu. I wasn't give the opportunity to see it. Glad I didn't have to pay for it.

Have stayed here many times before, but the last time was the worst. We were in a room that had a door into the pool area. They were working on the area--and were making loud mechanical noises in there at 7 AM! The corridors in the hotel are also not very sound-proof--you can easily hear people in the hall and your neighbors. The VERY BEST thing about the hotel is the Sunday Breakfast Buffet--one of the best I have been to.

Christmas tree display. Room needs re done. Room was in need of work. Window Curtin was broke. I had to prop it shut with a chair for privacy.

"This is a nice motel with clean, nicely furnished rooms, lots of parking and low rates. It's a good value for your money."
Date of Stay:

Quiet and close to highways. Room service. Room was not cleaned on the Saturday we were there. Show would not turn off unless excessive force was used. Coffee pot did not work; it was replaced. Large floor lamp did not work; this was fixed.
Date of Stay:
July, 2006
If you are traveling with kids who will want to walk around the room barefoot you may want to find a place with cleaner carpets. My daughter's feet were completely black after walking around our room...disgusting.
Date of Stay:

Had an indoor pool and kiddie pool. Never gave us enough towels. One complaint I have is the construction guys were sawing & using a nail gun at 8:30 at night right beside our room. Our two small children were trying to sleep. The other complaint is we had 4 people staying in the room and they only gave us 3 towels. Don't the cleaning people know how many people are staying in the room?

I enjoyed their indoor swimming pool. The hotel's rooms were extremely out dated. It met my basic needs, but it was not the nicest place I have ever stayed in.
Date of Stay:
April, 2007
Public areas. Noisy air conditioner you cannot turn off and smelly non smoking room. The entire hotel needs a renovation and I would never consider staying there again. I have been staying in hotel rooms 70 to 80 times per year throughout the world for the past 30 years and for the price I paid this is the second worse hotel after a thistle hotel in London.
Date of Stay:
April, 2006
Breakfast Buffet. No supervision in pool area. Neat & Clean.

We liked the set up and warmth of the pool and hot tub. The pool could have been a little cleaner. We had a nice stay.
