We stayed at the Ramada Inn in East Orange because of a family reunion in that city. The rooms were clean and neat. Although the entrance to the parking lot was narrow and could become congested, the lot proved to be safe. Continental breakfast included cereal, muffins and/or bagels, orange juice and regular coffee. They did not have decaf coffee. You were able to make your own waffles with a waffle iron. The breakfast staff was not particularly friendly when asked to supply more of anything and became most unfriendly when the waffle iron had to be cleaned because of overuse.

Beds were uncomfortable and bad smell.

This is a very nice Hotel for the price. The area is not great, but we were a stone's throw from the Brick Church Train Station and it was $10 round trip to Penn Station. Breakfast was included. Typical cereals, bagels, waffles, pastries and coffee. If you are not very demanding this is a good, cost effective option. We were able to accomodate 5 of us in a room.

We were surprise by how nice the hotel was due to the area surrounding it. The area is undergoing re-development; don't let it scare you. :-) The parking area is well lite and quiet at night. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very nice. We had two rooms and both were of the same high quality. We would have no problem with staying there again.

The staff was friendly, it was in a great location the NJ transit was just 2 blocks away in great walking distance, i didnt like the fact that i had to go all the way down to the lobby to get ice the ice machine was like 2 rooms away but it did not work and it made the whole floor smell moldy.

The hotel room was very clean, well kept and free of any smoke. The continental breakfast needs to be upgrade to fresh food. Overall the hotel stay was okay, the room was well kept and we got a peaceful sleep, in spite of the location.

The hotel staff was very helpful and check in was a breeze. The room was nice and clean. Trying to find it was another story, but that is more because I am not familiar with NJ. Yes, the neighborhood is not the greatest, but hey, its New Jersey. I wouldn't have a big problem staying there again.

This hotel's staff and services were friendly and attentive. The neighborhood is mostly African-American, so if the color of one's skin does'nt bother you come on in. As far as finding the place: from the NJ Turnpike South, get off at exit 15W; I-280West, take exit 12-A from there. Continue straight for five or six lights to Evergreen Pl., tun left and the hotel is 1-1/2 blocks on the left. travel to N.Y.C. is fast and easy. Also, if you like fast food or Boston Market, there is plenty just blocks away. Not a bad trip at all. Thanks online travel !

The hotel was neat and clean....It was easy off and on the parkway. It's a great place to spend the night after driving all day. It's not a place that you would stay for a week on vacation. It's also not a place to take a walk after dinner or at night as the location was not the greatest............

Nothing at all. It was really shabby looking, uncomfortable to sleep in and embarrassing.

The Hotel is very nice but in a not so pretty neighborhood - run down or boarded up buildings and empty lots. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Ours had a small fridge and microwave oven. It is easy to find - right off the highway. It is close to a train station (2 short blocks) that will take you into NY City. We took it into the City and then either walked or took the subway. It is cheaper ($ round trip for a family of 4) and alot easier than trying to drive and find a parking spot in NY City. There is also a small grocery store within walking distance. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was also very nice - bagels, cereal, muffins, and waffles.

scary location in East Orange, NJ, never in my life, have seen so many cops in lights and sirens, but have good helpful staff, 24 hr security guards, laundry, small gym, good continental breaky, clean rooms, and easy access to major highways, few communication problems, but for the money i saved here to travel in NY, it's not a bad stay

Okay, for a place to use for traveling back and forth to New York city. Did not stay much at the hotel.

Terrible Hotel, ugly people, badly maintained, unfriedly staff. Probably ruined from thousands of tourists, which went through. Only big, big advantage is the 5 Minute walking location to NJ Transit, which brings you directly to Penn Station (20 min ride). So if you just need a cheap bed and free parking close to NY it is OK.

Our room was very clean. Both the bathroom and beds were immaculate. The hotel was in a terrible location. I did not feel safe at all. The hotel was in great condition, probably because it was built fairly recently. The staff was helpful, but tended to be a little short with us. The neighborhood in which this hotel is located is quite intimidating, however. I felt afraid to step outside the hotel and am generally not intimidated by my surroundings.

This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever had the unfortunate experience of rooming in. There were clumps of hair in the sink, all over the pillowcases, as if someone had just pulled up the sheets after the last guests! The entire hotel smelled like a toliet. The location was in a terrible neighborhood as well.We checked out early with no plans of a return ever.

Good for the star level. Location is horrible. Hotel is located in the ghetto area and the hotel's corridors smell like something from India. I guess it matches the star rating. Overall, do not stay here unless you are willing to wait for the trains and put up with the location.

Ramada Inn had clean rooms with seperate bath area, large sleeping area with desk.
