The Ramada downtown Calgary is what it is, tired and outdated, but a great location. The chef is a genius. I had the butter chicken, the rice bowl with shrimp and the bacon wrapped beef with peppercorn sauce during my stay. They were all excellent and reasonably priced.

I always book at least a 3 star or better when I travel and was disappointed with the quality and service of this hotel. Rooms were plain, beds were uncomfortable. One of them sank in half when sat on. Small TV. Had to jiggle the cable cord to get a clear picture several times. Coffee maker did not work. Heater did not work first night there and went to sleep freezing. They sent a maintenance man to fix which he had to come back twice and then spend about half an hour fixing the thermastat. He was very pleasant though. I asked a worker where a convience store was to get some cold medicine and he just pointed "down that way". I had to ask people on the street where to go. When I checked in the hotel, I was not given any information when breakfast hours were or that the pool was closed. Called front desk to get hours on a local restaurant which they gave me wrong closing hours. No information on anything to do with the hotel. Will not stay there again!

Pillows were awesome and beds were good. Needed help with internet but didn't happen. Good location in downtown Calgary.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. I didn't like having the pool right out my window, and that was really my only complaint. The parking was reasonably priced and even after we checked out, we could leave our car while sightseeing. You can walk to most of the important parts of town from this hotel or catch the free public transport.

Theroom was comfortable and the location was convient. I could walk to all my appointments. I enjoyed my stay!

Location. Restaurant was like part of the lobby. Comfortable hotel with free wireless internet in a good Downtown location an easy walking distance from anywhere Downtown.

Getting to any downtown hotel from airport costs 30-40, but had shuttle arranged for return trip. Rooms not fancy but clean, adequate. Has free internet access. Close to downtown, can walk to most places and around the block is the train which is free for the downtown strip. Reception desk people not as helpful as could be, but not rude. I did not use room service but did use the 24 hour-open gym, which was again nothing fancy but all I wanted was a treadmill anyway. In summary, this is not the Four Seasons, but a clean hotel with good people that will meet your basic needs.

Thermostat was not working and the room was too hot. Had to crack open the window to cool the room.

I checked out. Bed, internet connection, bathroom. A below average bargain basement hotel stay that can only be credited with being Downtown Calgary.

Convenient location and good room service menu. This hotel needs an indoor whirlpool and business centre. Because it was winter, it was cold and boring at night mid-week. The restaurant was closed in the evening when I got back at 8 p.m. The pub was shabby! The swimming pool was closed. The public computer terminal was in the corridor near the lobby - too public, no printing facilities and in this day and age, shocking that we have to pay 1 for 10 minutes of internet use in a hotel. Reception wasn't too friendly but David the room service guy was great!

It's a very old hotel but maintained in an ok condition. The A/C did not properly work. Its a central a/c, so they gave us a air cooler instead of increasing the a/c. They are in a process of renovating the hotel. Local calls are free with in the room but once you are checked out they don't even let you make free calls from the front desk. So overall its not a great hotel for the amount you spend. Unless you don't have anyother choice you may choose this hotel. The convenient thing about this hotel is its close to 7th avenue (free train service within downtown).

Friendly staff, good down town Calgary location. Parking is expensive, delivery food is hard to get due to location & parking expenses on suppliers. My over all experience was very good at this hotel. Bathrooms needs some kind of additional cleaning. Details as well as the carpet, staff were helpful and accommodating.

My husband and I were in Calgary for a conference for 5 days. We loved the location of this hotel because it's right downtown. The train stops a block away and everything else is close by. The Red Fox Bar downstairs is a nice place to relax in the evening... lots of really nice people and the fries with gravy was good! The breakfast in the restaurant was pretty good and reasonably priced. The room was pretty clean. The front desk people were not the friendliest.

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel, for a 2-star hotel it exceeded my expectations (I'd rate it at least a 2.5-3 Star) There was no fan in the bathroom and the bathroom was quite small and the room did not have a fridge or microwave. I enjoyed my stay at the Ramada Hotel. It was clean and comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The staff was really friendly and courteous.

Clean, generally helpful staff except the front desk. Cards are keyed for 48 hrs making it necessary to re-key them at all awkward hours. Not acceptable. Generally OK, except why the cards are not keyed for the entire stay.

They upgraded to suite. They charge for parking $15/day. Nice and safe location in the downtown near to US embassy and restaurants.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing comes to mind. A clean, reasonable hotel in downtown Calgary. Not fancy but certainly nice. In-room free wireless Internet connection a plus. Very helpful staff.

Location. Mediocre beds. Fair price for what you get. Which can be summed up in one word "location!"

Good central location. No access to printer for business travelers. The hotel is within a block of the c-train station and there are plenty of stores nearby, all within a block or two. Wireless internet is available for free, but there is no access to printers. Addition of a business center with printer, fax and pc would be great! There is also no alternative location nearby which has printer facilities. These are essential facilities for business travelers. Otherwise service and cleanliness was great.
