My stay at The RamadaI stayed at the Ramada on the 20 June for 1 Night specifically to attend the Katherine Jenkins concert at The National Indooor Arena. I was not attending as part of the Rotary International Conference. Hotel was excellant for my requirements in all aspects.

Difficult to Find but well situatedThe hotel sits behind the Mailbox building and gives its address as Upper Wharf Street which is an enclosed area of the canal again hidden bhind the Mailbox. Even Sat Nav won't find this one you need to park in the Mailbox and take the lift to the 7th floor before you can get close to finding the way in. Once in the hotel is abour average for this type of business hotel. All areas are clean and in good decorative order. The room was big enough but the bed was too soft and the noise from the Quayside meant opening the window was a No No.Overall, as a stop over I would be happy to stay here again but I'll be wiser next time.

Only down side to the hotel and I heard many other guests saying the same it was far to hot. They should consider air con. Staff where very helpful, and it was a fantastic location.

city centre accomodationLovely staff made this a very enjoyable city break - located behind the Mialbox in Birmingham, close to the shops and a wide variety of bars and restaruants from pizza to sushi.Possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel!

Not good If you want a good night sleepStaying at the Ramada Hotel on a busy saturday night was the biggest mistake I've made. The reception was proud and pleased to tell me that the've given us a room facing the canal...but it was very very noisy as there were lots of bars/restaurants just below the hotel room. My partner and I found it difficult to get sleep because of the noise and very loud music coming from below. Room was clean, but everything is very basic.

RoomsThis is the second time we've stayed here. It's right in the middle of numerous restaraunts and bars at the Mailbox. Rooms are clean and have great facilities. Staff are friendly. Also, the rooms are quite well sound proofed so we were'nt unduly disturbed. We like this hotel. if you want to be off the noisy streets but close to the canal then this is the one for you.

Standard modern hotel close to city centreBetter than average hotel of its type; recently built so everything's pretty new and all works. Very busy desk at checkout time - long queue, but they have an \"express checkout\" box so I dropped my key off rather than wait. Slightly difficult to find for the first time - you walk through the shopping/restaurant mall of the Mailbox to get there, and it's not signposted at all until you see the entrance which looks just like another shop/restaurant.

room was lovely with a great view accross the canals. but the bed was too soft for me we both kept falling into the middle so had to sleep on the very edge also it was very noisy as the bars etc are just underneath

Front of house greetingI found the front desk staff very curt and rude. I had booked the room and I had paid for the room but the young lady talked directly to my partner and chose to completely disregard my presence. Rather sexist.

ValueThe hotel is very well placed for activities in Birmingham. Had a good room overlooking the canal basin. Room was airy and very clean, with good shower and facilities.The only down side was the bed which had seen better days with quite tunefull springs fighting to escape the mattress! Was comfortable once laying down. Breakfast was of a good standard. Feel this hotel offers very good value for a city centre establishment.
