The hotel is fine - clean, modern, spaious etc. The location is interesting, however. Don't get me wrong I love Docklands but if you haven't been before you may be surprised by how spread out it is. At odds with Central London there is loads of empty space down there. The Ramada is very close to London City Airport (don't worry no noise issues) but very little else in nearby. You are between two DLR stations which is useful but restuarants / entertainment within walking distance is very scarce. There is a great chinesse restaurant in the boating club house, however, just up from the hotel. It overlooks the airport runway and Albert dock.I would also question how safe this area is for wandering about from dusk onwards. Maybe check with reception / friendly local.

I would definately stay here again. Great location and excellent friendly service.

There was no lighting over the dressing table we were going out for the evening to a show with friends but it was difficult to look in the mirror with no lighting. We also had to ask for another chair for the twin room as we were having room service and did,nt want to sit on the bed to have our meal. The receptionist who bought up the chair said it was policy to only have one chair in the room, which i thought was rather odd.

My husband and I assumed that since it was a Ramada, it would be a great place to stay. The staff was somewhat helpful. The rooms are very small, but clean. The beds were not as hard as other European hotels, but I could feel the mattress springs and it was noisy. Breakfast is not included and there are no places nearby to eat at. The really bad part is that it takes about an hour to get into downtown London, so a lot of time is waisted trying to get into London. It also a five minute walk from the hotel to the actual train station, so if it is raining it is not a fun walk. It is also a long trip to get to Gatwick airport. We ended up paying over $100 for a cab ride because there is not shuttle to take you to or from the airport. I think if you are there just for business, it would be a great place, but for vacationers, it is not a good choice. I would have rathered paid more to stay closer to downtown.

Great hotel for the priceWe had a fantastic stay at this hotel, helped by a complimentary upgrade. The room was lovely but it was the staff that made this hotel. Every staff member I passed whether they were cleaning or on reception said hello and could not do enough for you.We also got free parking for both days we stayed at the hotel saving us £24!If you are looking for a hotel to explore London and don't mind jumping on the tube for 25 mins then it is not too far out either. Would have been perfect for the eXcel centre.Very impressed and would be likely to choose Ramada over similar hotels in the future.

"Very clean! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only downside is the location but it is a short metro ride to major attractions. We would stay here again, it was that nice and since away from city very quiet at night. Highly recommend!!"

Family stay in docklands areaStayed in a suite as there were four of us, two separarate rooms with microwave fridge etc in the lounge, was excellent. Hotel location was further out than than i expected but only a short walk to DLR Royal Albert station (Hotel suggested prince Regent as closest but i thought Royal albert was a nicer stroll along water side).

A good choice!Great for myself, my partner and our 5-year old. Room was good for three - with a fold-out sofabed for our daughter. Family friendly - bar/lounge was welcoming to children so we could relax a little after a busy day in London. And kids eat for free at breakfast. A fabulous award-winning Chinese restaurant nearby above the rowing club was a lovely evening out. As was an evening at the O2 which is just a few stops away. Just bear in mind that this hotel is a little way out of central London, but easy enough from Tower Gateway (about 10 stops on the DLR). And there are no shops nearby (for water etc.) so plan ahead. But great value for money on the 20% off for 3 nights Laterooms deal.

Good value but remote locationStayed 3 nights in a junior suite at Ramada Docklands - best deal we could find in London with a separate bedroom for the children. The Fold-down sofa-bed was really only suitable for children so they got the main room, we got the bedroom. Aside from that - very comfy suite in a modern, spotless hotel and excellent value at 84/nt. Staff weren't very clear about cost of adding breakfast, so we only did this for first morning @9gpb. Turns out that was for all 4 of us, so would have been good value had we known. About the location... it's way out east of Docklands, between Excel and London City Airport. Take the DLR to Prince Regent, and from the platform you'll see the Ramada next to the Premier Inn. It's a 10-15 minute walk away. For central London attractions, allow a good hour for travel to/from Ramada using DLR, underground and walking. The hotel restaurant was OK but pricey (that's London). There's another restaurant at the nearby Premier Inn and the pub adjacent, but other than that there's nothing else near this hotel.

Good, but mainly for London City AirportPerfect for London City Airport but a little out for central London. Would have been impossible to find without GPS and coming from Heathrow was really on the wrong side of London. Was clean, and friendly, adequate for a short term stay, especially if flying from London City. Value was ok, internet charge reasonable although free lobby access would have been good. Air conditioning in the room turned itself off every 15 minutes or so which was a real pain, would have been more so if it was hotter. If I was coming to the area again would certainly return. No room safe or fridge which I feel was a major disadvantage, especially for a longer stay.

A good location for the Blackwall Tunnel and leaving London going East. Staff friendly. I will NOT be staying at this hotel again. The car parking charges are not welcome in view of the room tarriff. This is unfortunate as all other aspects were good.

Docklands stayWe were extremely pleased with the high standards of cleanliness and quality of our room.We have stayed at this location twice before and enjoyed the experience apart from one problem with noise from a couple on the same floor which we reported to reception and it was dealt with it very efficiently.Although we didn't dine in the restaurant for our evening meals this visit, the breakfast was very good and we have actually visited the restaurant as non residents when we've been to Docklands at other times in the past.We will definitely use the hotel again in the future.

Very comfortable hotel with excellent customer service. Convenient for Excel (10 - 15 min walk along the main road or use the DLR). Not a lot to do in the evenings around the hotel for a single traveller. Taxis need to be booked through reception as there are no passing cabs.
