Nice Clean Bright HotelRoom Small but adequate - had phoned ahead to book twin room as travelling with friend, but had a sofa bed made up instead ... a bit like a hospital bed!If travelling as a couple or alone room would be absolutely fine. Great power showers!

overnight stayGood clean accomodation, a large walk in shower and bathroom with modern German equipmentThe hotel is recently built so is in excellent condition nice furnishings.We stayed overnight while going to a relatives birthday so this hotel was to sleep in only, although we had a drink at the bar on returning at midnight friendly service and open all night.one minute from Junction 37ten times better than a typical overnight business type hotel

Excellent Boutique hotelStayed at this new boutique type hotel for the first time early July 2009 and was impressed by the clenliness of the rooms and public araes. The rooms are comfortable although not over furnished (sofa and table but no wardrobe - just hanging area). The hotel is located conveniently for the motorway, the glazing is exceptional and keeps out the motorway noise.There is a single track railway line that runs past the back of the hotel but the basic slow urban train service starts around 0700 and the last train around 1000 or 1030 - only two cariage trains. There is a Toby Carvery adjacent to the hotel, but plenty of other eating places within a short drive. I have rebooked for aditional stays.

Pleasant stay but hot!!!Nice accomodation but only 6 months old and no air con given the current heat wave slightly uncomfortable! If window open too noisy, other wise great.

Raising the standard in South YorkshireAll the staff at this lovely new hotel were of the highest standard, friendly, helpful, hardworking and efficient, making us feel welcome and valued as customers. The buffet breakfast had plenty to offer in the way of variety, with all tastes catered for. It was kept fresh by staff constantly restocking and was very well cooked. Lunch was also excellent and not overpriced, and again there was plenty to choose from on the menu. The hotel is ideally situated for Barnsley, Sheffield,Doncaster and Leeds.However, being so close to Motorway, there is obviously some noise, but we did not find this a problem. Our room alsooverlooked the train track, which was a bonus as far as my husband was concerned. It certainly was not a problem for us as trains ran so infrequently.We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.We visit South Yorkshire regularly and have stayed at many hotels in the area. This is without a doubt the best we have tried, mainly due to the staff. All credit to the Manager for recruiting them and for the smooth running of the hotel as a whole.Thankyou.

Ramada Encore Barnsley. First rate hotel and staffA first rate hotel with good facilities, nice rooms and friendly staff. Very convenient as it is right by Junction 37 of the M1. Free wired internet in all rooms a big plus for a business traveller.

Definitely worth a visit!Although my stay was very short (I was visiting my daughter for the weekend), I found the ultra-modern room/ensuite facilities excellent. The shower/wet room was nicely laid out and the free use of an internet connection proved very useful as I was awaiting an important email. I'd thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel to anyone and hope to visit again myself soon.

Barnsley dodworthvery easy to stay here , all staff helpfull and friendly , good toby carvery across the carpark which is cheap and cheerfull . still need to fix the soap dispensers correctly throughout hotel , but apart from that i am happy to return anyday .

Great hotel, would highly recommendThis is the fourth time I have stayed here, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable, the food is great, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Encore Ramada luvly stayFrom the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for you. The rooms are very nice and modern and the food is very good. If you don't want their food there is a Toby jug Pub less than 50 yards away. Only down side is that the rooms at the back of the hotel are near a train track so a bit noisy during the day. Trains stop at 11pm so no disturbance during the night. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

Barnsley Ramada EncoreAt Late Rooms prices, this was a fantastic deal.; even at full price, I don't think you'd feel disappointed. Although right by the M1, it faces away from it, so you are relatively unaffected by traffic noise (with windows closed) and surprisingly there is a reasonable view of hills. It's really not far from the Peak District, so for holiday makers, it's definitely worth a stop off or maybe even a short break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very nice, with a wide selection of hot and cold things to choose from. The rooms are contemporary and comfortable. You can even make free landline calls if you want. There's also a Toby Pub at the same roundabout so if you don't fancy eating at the hotel, you can eat there (reasonable food). We liked it so much we have already returned. It's very, very easy to find (forget the SAT Nav - it's absolutely obvious at Jn 37 M1). I should think for business use it's also extremely popular; I would be more than happy to attend business events at this location. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay very pleasant.
