Rather garish exterior was a bit off-putting on arrival, but the interior was clean and the room comfortable. Having paid for my room by credit card I was rather surprised that I couldn't use it in the restaurant. As I'd eaten before I discovered this it was lucky I had enough cash on me. Nice and handy for the leisure centre (10 minutes walk) where I was attending a show.

Excellent value for money at £45 for the night. Ideal location for the railway station. Good size for a single room, immaculte ensuite. Very friendly staff.

Food in Papa Gees was very poor. Salmon & accompaniments appeared to have been heated up using microwave. Car parking poor (space for c. 6 cars).

Room 15 which I was in was fine, dated decor similar to a run down Marriot hotel but half the price. Sheets and towels were clean, bathroom was spotless. Free tea making facilities in room with biscuits topped up everyday. Reception was efficient both at check in and check out. Reading station 10 minute walk.

Hotel was of adequate standard. Negative comments - Internet facility was inadequate. Total of only 5 TV channels was not impressive. No air-condition. Missing light-bulb above desk, making evening work difficult. No minibar.Positive comments - Situated off-centre but within easy walking distance to town centre and railway/bus station.

Could only book 'room only', so relied on the hospitality tray biscuits for breakfast. Room small & comfortable but had a huge bathroom. Would use again, but next time hope to discover cost & availability of breakfast!

The hotel is walking distance to Reading Station and was a good price. The car park is a bit small but overall it was very convenient for me. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Hotel was pleasant enough for a one night business stay. Very small hotel more reminiscent of a youth hostel than a hotel in some ways. Room, food and staff were all adequate rather than good. Would have been fine at half the price but not at the current rates.

It felf like a small friendly family type hotel and the food in the restaurant was of good quality. There was a flavour of italian culture which made the stay enjoyable.

Very easy to get to on foot from station, and they called a taxi for me on my departure, when I was travelling a greater distance.
