The location of the hotel is excellent, 500 yards from the sea and 5 minutes walk to the town centre. The hotel offers reasonable quality rooms. Cleanness is a slight issue. Breakfast is fairly decent, food is reasonably good. The pool is nice, steam room is also available but was out of order during my stay. The gym is a BIG let down as it only as 4 items in there, no free-weights and NO CARDIO equipment. If you can get a good deal for this hotel and aren't too fussed with using gym facilities this is ideal for you!

Better going with a B&BWhere to start......Arrived and walked straight into three coach loads of OAPs, but possible to be expected at this time of year.Check in was easy, and we were put in a room at the furthest reaches of the hotel with a sea view and a balcony (covered in cigerette butts). The room was large, with 2 beds in it, although neither a double. No heating on (this must have annoyed the other guests), and the room was freezing. Hair in the bath plughole that looks to have been there for months. No kettle (although there was a kettle base!!!!!), nor mugs, although tea, coffee all supplied. Breakfast was a noisy affair. We were walked past several tables for two and seated at a table for four. Within 2 minutes the waiter was attempting to seat another couple at our table without even asking,,,,, thanks. And finally, they don't have tea pots for tea (unless you are old, then they will happily retrieve them from where they are all hidden - yes - the manager told me this)All in all...... you would do better with a B&B. Or maybe a sleeping bag on a bench by the harbour.

Why do staff not speak English in a hotel in England!Very good value hotel but let down very badly by staff at reception speaking about your check in/booking to each other in a foreign language (not English). This does not put guests at ease which they should be when spending money on a night away!!!

Rainbow OK HotelRoom was good size and comfortable -curtains could have been longer. Indoor pool is too small to bother with and stean room was not that hot.

Even though it was out of season for the hotel, we had a great stay. Rooms are dated and cleanliness was reflected in this, but you get what you pay for! Service was always of a great standard from check-in to check-out. My only negative comment would be that you could not get "anything" to drink after hours (after 11pm). There was no access for the night staff, which I think could have cost them some revenue and will continue to.I would go back as long as the rate was as good again.

I found the cafeteria style 'restaurant' to be rather expensive for the meal on offer. I would eat out if staying their again.

Good Location for the Riveria centre, good hotel with reasonable rooms. Clean and Friendly service.

The Rainbow hotel was very dirty and smelly. the hole of the hotel needed a lot of TLC. It is not worth the £100 per night. I stay out a lot with my job, the hotels I stay at are not as big as the Rainbow but a lot cleaner and do not smell, Al of our cloth had to be washed as soon as we arrived home due to the smell

Hotel was very nice but in need of a major refurbishment the reception staff were excellent and breakfast was good with plenty of choice the indoor pool was very good but a bit on the deep side

This hotel needs a makeover. It's cheap for a single room but over priced if you go for a double.

the locationis good handy for the amenities. the hotel is in need of updating, lots of peeling paint and cracked tiles, definately in ineed of a face lift. It was value for money @£39 per room and would stay there again on that price basis. The pool indoors was beautifully warm and relaxing but the changing rooms were cold, and yet again cracked tiles etc: entertainment every evening which is unusual so that was nice.

we arived at 5.30pm and found what use to be a hotel bar has changed to a bingo hall, no where was avaliable to have a drink or a snack so we had to go to the hotel over the road. very disapointed with this

The hotel rooms are in need of repairing some minor faults that occur during wear tear i.e T.V remote controls not working properly, shower heads unable to be fixed in holder ,the floor [in my room] by the bedside felt like it might collapse and the heating [radiators] could not be adjusted [left window open in attempt to cool the room]
