The hotel was very nice. Location was probably the best on the Royal Mile. Right in the center of the mile with a taxi pick up right out front. The business center computers were slow and didn't always work. My key card often didn't work. The staff was helpful.

the pool was not available on the monday morning for a baby splash session. this was not pointed out or advertised, so we had a wasted visit. the hotel staff however provided my wife with a surprise pudding on arrival as it was her birthday. this was a very nice and personal touch. thank you!

We've stayed at hotels throughout Europe, and found the Radisson SAS in Edinburgh to be one of the most enjoyable places we have stayed in. The rooms were well appointed and well decorated, and we were lucky enough to have a fantastic view of the Firth of Forth and cliffs East of the city right from our room window. The staff were very courteous and helpful, & the breakfasts provided great fuel to start the day. I would definitely stay here again.

Great room, great breakfast. First class service. Perfect location for central Edinburgh.

Booked the Deluxe room - very large for London standards. Large bathroom, excellent amenities. Breakfast room was very nice, staff friendly. About a 8 minute walk from the Marble Arch tube stop. Oversized bed with tons of pillows and luxurious bedding. Extra towels, robes and slippers included. Didn't have a tea/coffee maker in room which was annoying. Housekeeping could have been a little more detail oriented.

Great location for seeing Edinburgh.

The Radisson SAS offers a super location toward the upper, castle, end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, two blocks uphill from Waverly Station. It is within easy walking distance of many of the city's principal attractions and museums. Its immediate surroundings are filled with restaurants, bars and nightspots, although the neighboring one can be noisy into the wee hours. The building is designed in a faux medieval style, which at least tries to blend in with the surroundings. The interior can be dark, although that is also a function of location and climate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, sized more typically of North America than Europe. But the carpets are starting to show signs of wear throughout the property, and the bathroom, while acceptable, could have done with a more thorough cleaning. The main elevators are small and, like the rest of Edinburgh, not particularly geared for handicapped access. The front desk staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. I did not use the ground-floor bar/restaurant, which seemed to attract more cocktail drinkers than diners. That may be because there are many good alternatives in the space of a couple blocks. If you are traveling without a laptop or other device, there are two computer terminals off the lobby; they are not lightning fast. There is a charge for morning newspapers delivered to your room.

The location of this hotel - right on the Royal Mile - was unbeatable. Our room was huge, the property was very clean and well-maintained and the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly. Being able to walk out the front door of the hotel and be right in the center of all that is happening in Edinburgh is amazing. Not only is the hotel on the Royal Mile, it is right at the cross street of New Bridge Street, which takes you over to "new" Edinburgh. No doubt about it, we would stay here again when we are in Edinburgh AND we will be back to Edinburgh! Its a captivating, beautiful city with loads to do.

Except for a missing desk light bulb, the room was very comfortable and better than your average Radisson in the States. Free in room internet worked well. The location couldn't be better--an easy, albeit uphill, walk from the train station and right in the middle of everything you want to see. The consierge staff was very helpful and everyone was friendly. We didn't eat there because there were too many pubs all around. We went in August during festival time when rates all over the city are high. We felt this hotel was a good value and would definitely stay there again.

Warning: Breakfast was a huge buffet (no options to order from a menu) cost $31 a person!

The Radisson SAS in Edinburgh was wonderful! The layout of the room was pleasant, the staff was more than helpful, meeting our every need. There even were free computers for our use in the lobby. Being halfway from end to end of the Royal Mile was super, we could always stop and drop off parcels, or take a rest. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone touring Scotland!
