Being in Australia for the first time to attend the World Youth Day the hotel made my stay very pleasant. Its location in the center of Sydney makes a walk to interesting places easy. I'm sure if ever I may return to Sydney I'll be staying in the Radisson. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Sadly, I can only write a very scathing review of this hotel! My experiences with the Radisson Plaza in Sydney began a few days before I arrived. I called them to check which room I had been booked into and, after reading a review on another site, requested that the two single beds in the room NOT be pushed close together as I was sharing with an elderly Aunt and wanted a bit of space so we could sleep without breathing into each other’s faces.... I also explained that I would be arriving at 10am after traveling from interstate since 4am, and needed to rest and change before I was due at a function at 3pm. The person on the phone said they would request an early book-in time and indicated that a room would be ready for me when I arrived. I got there a bit after 10am on Thursday 4th December. The RUDEST staff member possible was at the reception counter!! My room had been booked and paid for by the organisation that had invited me to Sydney. The man at the counter confirmed my booking, and then requested a credit card from me. I told him I didn’t have one. He then told me to pay him $100 “in case I used the mini bar”. I told him that I didn’t have $100 and re-explained that the room had been paid for by the organisation and if there were any problems maybe he should talk to THEM! I also asked for the mini bar to be taken from my room as I had no intention of using it. The man then said that I had to wait until 2pm for a room to be available for me. I told him I was very tired and needed a cup of tea and a rest before having a shower, getting changed and attending the function at 3pm. He said I could use the shower at their ‘Health Cub’. I asked if there was a bed there I could rest on for a few hours... The answer was ‘no’. He then turned away and ignored me.... I then told him I NEEDED to rest (NO offer of a cup of tea was forthcoming...) and would do so by sleeping on a sofa in the foyer until a room was available. Within half an hour of me stretching out on one of the lounges, a LOVELY, kind and helpful young staff member, Ravi Singh, approached me and said a room was available and I that would be upgraded to a Premier Room. She took me to this room, which had two double beds in it (placed about 30cm apart). Returning to the room with my Aunt later that night after the function, and wanting to make ourselves another cup of tea, we realised that there was no milk left, as there had been only 3 or 4 single portions of milk provided. After trying to call room service about four times they finally answered the phone and promptly brought 4 more single portions.... Strangely, there were only enough products for ONE guest in the bathroom, so we had to share the shower cap and shampoo... and there was only one armchair to sit on... There WAS an extra sugar packet, I discovered it imbedded in thick dust under the TV... It’s probably STILL there! The next morning we went to check out at 9.30am. The ‘express check out’ counter was unattended and the same man was at reception. He ignored me when I asked him if I could check out until, worried that I would miss my flight back home if I didn’t leave soon, I INSISTED on him taking my keys... He was SO RUDE that I approached another staff member in the foyer and asked him to identify the receptionist, whom he named as ‘Abdhallah”. I told this other staff member that I was going to write a review of the hotel, he looked shocked, then asked me what I was going to say in it.... I was SO disappointed to have this hotel stay almost ruined by the unpleasant Abdhallah. If there were more staff members like Ravi Singh employed to assist guests, it would almost be worth its five star rating....

The rooms were clean and well-appointed, with comfortable beds. I appreciate the complimentary internet access. The staff was very helpful and attentive, providing suggestions for dining and attractions that were suitable for our family. Check in and check out were speedy. Would recommend this place for business or family travel. It was clear that the staff was there to serve our needs.

Clean, elegant rooms and located near many of Sydney's major sights. The electronic key cards were unreliable, especially for activating the elevator. Had to have help several times. The Radisson Plaza, Sydney, is an excellent choice for business or leisure travel. Our room had an enormous, comfortable king bed, marble bathroom with large tub. Staff is polite, responsive and quick to respond to requests. Location is within easy walk of Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Circular Quay, The Rocks, Aquarium, and Fish Market: all major attractions.

Very accomodating for travellers allowing us to check-in early, and leaving to catch a late breakfast without all our bags taken downstairs [Day-light Saving hours caught us unaware ] The conseirge was particularly accomodating with regard information and help to travellers . Lovely decor. Definately stay again.

I really liked this hotel because it was clean, the staff was friendly (especially the concierge who knows everyone) and the food and drink were very very tasty. The location is fantastic since it's on Pitt St. as well, and that's quick walk to Circular Quay as well as shopping. The gym is samll and can fill up quickly, but in this city you can walk so much anyway, that it can balance itself off.

I give this hotel a very bad rating for service because the car valeting facility, for which we paid extra, was non existent. On both occasions we prebooked, well in advance, for the car to be brought to the front of the hotel, confirmed, but it did not happen. The first time we were escorted to the car thru the bowels of the building. The second,we were told it was on its way but the key was still behind the desk. Very substandard indeed.

A great place to stay, close to Circular Quay, railway stations for access to airport and despite being so central very quiet. The room was large, very well appointed and meticulously serviced. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would very happily stay there again

Having looked at the hotels on [website] and comparing prices and bedroom decor with similarly starred hotels I decided upon the Radisson Plaza. A wise choice as this is a fantastic hotel. Having worked in several 4/5* hotels in London this is easily the cleanest I have ever stayed in. I booked a club room on the 10th floor (only accessible by key card) and my rate included pre-dinner drinks/canapes and breakfast the following morning. Although I did not get the chance to enjoy the benefits of the pre-dinner drinks the breakfast was outstanding. The room was very modern and beautifully appointed and the kingsize bed was extremely comfortable. This hotel is ideal for any occasion and is much better value for money than other so called 4/5* hotels in the city. I was shocked to see some of the pictures of the bedrooms in the other hotels which were commanding a higher rate. Book the Radisson and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed in a corner spa suite, the room was very spacious and comfortable, paid the extra for the Club Lounge, well worth it. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is right in the middle of Circular Quay and the shops. We will definately stay there again.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at The Radisson Plaza Hotel the Bathroom facilities were outstanding, we were not that impressed with the view from the room as it was facing the fire stairs. Breakfast was very good not as impressed with the dinner menu overall we will return.

We had a great stay - very conveniently located and nice little extras with the friendly greetings from the men at the door with the top hats (I don't know their official titles!). One in particular, Anthony, was so very welcoming - rushing to help us with the buggy up the stairs and chatting to our 4 year old 'princess' and even taking her hand by the end of the 3 days - she was shyly impressed with the attention!

Only a one-night stay. VERY quiet (spa suite) room, given central location - best I have experienced. However, no opening windows, and an air-conditioning system best left off so as not to freeze overnight, made it a little stifling - with only other buildings viewable through curtains that would not open. At the price, I think these last few points couold be bettered.
