The individuals at the front desk was very helpful when it came to checking into the hotel and answering questions about the hotel's amenities. The doormen were also very helpful by telling us directions. The room was and bathroom were very clean. Four stars for the fluffy towels and crisp sheets. The hotel was very pet friendly. Our two dogs were happy to be with us on vacation. The Radisson Martinique on Broadway was very close to the Polish Embassy. It was also a short subway stop away from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was nice and the staff was helpful. The rooms were large and well kept. I would recommend staying in the hotel but first check on how they will charge. Everyday was a different price.

This is a hotel from the turn of the century which fell into such ruin during the 1970s and 1980s that the City of New York rented the rooms to house its homeless families. It was bought by a developer in the mid 1990s but took him some time to find a partner willing to raise it from its disgrace. Holiday Inn joined him in the project and subsequently sold it to the Radisson chain (never a favorite of mine). It's old with charming narrow winding corridors that reflect its being two buildings joined in the distant past to make one large hotel. It has a lovely spiral staircase and a cozy (translate small but workable) lobby. I liked it for its history and its restaurant. The staff were polite enough but inefficient. I had to search for a working ice machine over a couple of floors. All in all, I enjoyed my stay although I think it helped that I was willing to maintain my sense of humor. Don't expect much but the chance to stay in a lovely old historical building.

Decent. Apparently "great" for NYC from NYC friends who saw the suite I was upgraded to. Seemed slightly above average from a national business traveler perspective. Customer service was attempted but it failed. Had my bag sent to the wrong room which was frustrating. I couldn't change before making my dinner reservation. They certainly tried and had the right attitude generally but they just kept missing the mark.

While the location is amazing (one block from penn station and within blocks of amazing shopping and entertainment) I would never stay at this hotel again! The original room they placed me in was HORRIBLE and nothing seemed to work. The clock, phone and shower didnt work. The paint was either chipping or was splatterd on other items. The tv was very outdated and the chanel changer didnt work. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and although it is not a big deal.... the decor was extremely out dated. After I demanded another room I was surprised that it was better. However the only problem was that after paying 4 for a soda out of the dirty and outdated refreshment center I discoverd that it was not even refrigerated! When I called the front office about this they did nothing and they did not even apologize. Also, since it is the middle of winter I would have enjoyed a warm room.... of course the heater never went above 62 and I walked around my room in sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt with the hood on! Also, for anyone who enjoys working out, the gym was a bit shabby. It looks nothing like the photos that are posted!! In fact most of this hotel looks absolutly NOTHING like how they advertise. I will NEVER stay here again and I highly suggest that you do not either. Unless of course you enjoy rude customer service, dirty bathrooms, outdated decor, trash in the hallways, room heat that simply does not exist and wireless internet service that does not work.

I thought the hotel was pretty nice. This was my 1st trip to New york. I was warned the the hotel rooms are very small and quite expensive especially during the holiday season. The room was nothing much. we were given complimentary breakfast coupons. This was fantastic as we were on the go all day and the wonderful breakfast carried us through until dinner. We also appreciated he champge reception each evening in the lobby. The restaurant was decent and very nice and convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having the subway right outside the door was also a plus!

I felt the manager was a little hard to deal with. He did not want to help very much but the rest of the staff was very helpful.

I was very happy to have landed here. The room and bath were clean and well appointed. Plenty of towels, hot water and nice linens on a comfy mattress. I was on the 14th floor next to the elevator and heard absolutely no street noise (or noise from other guests for that matter). I have stayed in newer, more attractive and more upscale hotels in New York but had to pay the price. Sometimes double or triple the cost of my stay here. Very satisfied.

The look and feel is classic New York, older refined building, well located for Macy's, Soho Village, Nolita, Union Sq etc. Decent sized rooms, clean and well maintained.

Hotel location is great, in very bustling area of NYC within walking distance of many great attractions. Hotel room was clean and bell hop was helpful with baggage storage while we waited to check in. Service was horrible. Housekeeping was unprepared and we waited over 1 hour to check in. There were long lines of unhappy customers - not the way to start a vacation in NYC. Hotel will validate parking in Central Park lot across street but we didn't know this until after we checked out and were at the garage - very inconvenient! Would've been nice if hotel offered us this option during our stay. Hotel bar was ok - need more sitting room.

I checked in from home but was told this service not available because hotel was busy, who would need this service when hotel is not busy? Lobby very run down - uncomfortable seating. Air conditioning problem throughout hotel on hottest day of the year. Slow elevators. Requested non-smoking room yet room smelled horribly of smoke.

Another disappointment is when I first arrived at the hotel; I was having trouble getting my luggage through the door. The doorman was just sitting in his chair watching me struggle with my luggage. After I got my luggage through, then he finally ask me if I needed any help. I think he needs to be reprimanded.
