Overall, great location. Get the buffet breakfast - it is great. Staff is very responsive. Room can be a little small. Our a/c did not work well. Other then that good hotel choice. Walking distance to restaurants, underground and hyde park. Wifi free which is nice, gym is adequate and free.

Good value for location but noisyI stayed in the Radisson SAS Portman last week-end and overall was happy with my stay as my main requirement was to be very close to the centre of London. Being located just behind Marble Arch, the hotel location is great. However the room we were given had windows on the side of the building which were overlooking massive air con fans and the noise level was high and constant (the windows insulation was very poor). It's ok if you're in for a party week-end but not if you're on a business trip and trying to get some sleep. Also you could see that the room hadn't been revamped for the past few years, decoration was quite tacky and the carpet was a bit decrepit but clean. But again, great location if you're in for a city break.

While on average the hotel was satisfactory, especially on matters of breakfast ( excellent ), the first day (1/1/2009) after our arrival the room was not properly serviced (not enough towels, no second pair of slippers, no bathing sets). Apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much.

Stayed in the hotel for two days for business. I've booked a business class room, which was comfy and well equipped. One of my colleagues has stayed in a standard beforehand and wasn't that happy with the size of the room, so I better booked business class which was more spacious. Overall great stay, hotel staff was very helpfull and friendly, buffet breakfast (both hot and cold items) was excellent. Hotel is located just off the Oxford street, but still very quiet.

Good Modern HotelNice rooms, small but nice. Booked 2 rooms one for me and one for my parents. Both rooms were small but had all working mod cons and a good shower. The room was warm but quiet. no biscuits with the tea amking facilities upset my parents! Bar was nice but expensive, didn't eat there. Well placed for shopping as it was only 5 minutes from Marble Arch Tube and Oxford St (selfridges end).

Good valueAt £129 plus VAT and with a free upgrade to a top floor business room, we did well.Beautifully furnished room with every facility. Really good value - only slight grump was the cost of food and drink in the hotel which was certainly not below average. However very good quality everything. Wonderful position.

Great stayHad a lovely stay. The only negative point was that the bedroom (business class) was a little tired looking.

Nowhere to store anything!Pluses were the location and free internet access, but the (double) room was in need of redecoration and tiny (even by London standards) made worse by the lack of shelves or drawers: nowhere to store anything apart from the few things I could hang up. So a tiny room with shoes all over the floor because my T-shirts were sitting on the bottom of the wardrobe. Pure claustrophobia. Won't be going back.

Great hotel to stay in and access from the tube and bus, very close to hyde parkmy husband and i had very pleasand stay in the radisson last week.we will choose this hotel whenever we are in london again.the only thing i notice is the light at the bed side not so good.it would be helpful to have a lamp at each side of a double bed

There was a notice promoting water conservation yet the bath leaked through an ill fitting plug neccessitating regular topping up (Room 252)

We were upgraded to a business class room at no extra charge - although they tried to charge a room rate of 134.50 instead of 114.50 - this was rectified as soon as I pointed this out, staff helpful at check in and very prompt to help with a broken coffee machine. No problems with noise. Room clean and spacious (for London). Very good location - 2 min walk to Oxford Street and lots of lovely shopping.

We arrived at the hotel just after 4pm, we were advised upon booking that we could check in at 3pm. Upon arrival we were informed that there were problems with the system and that we would have to wait. After half an hour of waiting i went to reception to see if i could again check in. We were then informed that there would be a further half an hour wait as our room was not ready! This was now around 2 hours later than the time we should have been checking in! As we had a show booked and needed to leave at 6:30pm, this meant that we were then unable to use the facilties that we had upgraded to use such as the gym and sauna etc. and we had to have room service (which i had to go to reception and order as the room's phone was not working) rather than using the restaurant. My wife was suffering with a bad chest infection and was therefore not really up to waiting in reception for over an hour before we could get in to our room. We were given a complimentary coffee and the price of our meal was taken off our final bill (this was £25.00) but i feel that this was insufficient as we i had booked the business class room to take advantage of the extra facilites that came along with it, which i could not use. Overall the hotel and room itself was excellent but the initial service was not up to standard for the price we paid. I would hope that we would receive some further gesture from the hotel to make up for this.

The standard was what I would have expected from a quality establishment

The staff at this hotel were the best I can remember having stayed with. When I told them my wife and I were there for our 10th Anniversary they gave us a free room upgrade and a tray of fruit. I had asked for some wine and flowers to be placed in the room and the flowers were beautiful and the wine excellent. They were friendly, helpful and extremely considerate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only slight issue we had was the selection on the menu. I just did not feel there were enough choices.
