a short breakWe had a good journey but it took us nearly as long again to find a parking place....The hotel is situated conveniently near the lanes and facing the frontDo be carefull not to choose a room overlooking the back ally as the students revellris went on till 4.30 so we didnt get much sleep saturday night...food very good and staff helpful...would use again but only if we got a seaview side room...

The room I stayed in was a bit dated and desperately needed an update. The room had tea making facilities which was good, but lacked double glazing, therefore suffered from traffic noise and there was a night club nearby that pumped out dance music until 3.00am (Thursday night). The reception, bar and restaurant were good. The health club was excellent with a really nice pool.

Good Quality 3 star hotel in central brightonStayed here on business for 1 night. Found it to be really good value. Staff very friendly and helpful when it came to recommending a place to drink....also smiled and waved when i saw him later that evening in the same place. Free wifi is a plus......and you can get a broadband cable if the signal is not to strong. Room comfortable and clean and breakfast was help yourself style - all good apart from the coffee!!!Def stay here again!

Good location but can be noisy. The number of corridors, steps and doors to reach room a bit off putting - especially dragging luggage. Parking in parking station - very crowded when we visited.

Queens Hotel BrightonWas pleased with our stay at the Queens hotel. We got a good price for the room so believe it offered good value for money. However on arrival our room had been cancelled for some strange reason. We originally booked a triple room, but a mate could no longer make it, so I changed the room via 'laterooms' to a twin room and cancelled the triple room, but on arrival it seemed that 'late rooms' had cancelled the triple room, and booked a twin room, but then decided to cancell this as well. The staff at Queens were very helpful though and they sorted us out with a family room instead which meant we got our own rooms - even better!!!The place is probably due a facelift now, but it is still clean and tidy and does the job for a weekend break. If you are looking for a luxury stay in Brighton then this isn't really the place. However for a weekend away it is great. The Spa is good, although steam room wasnt working and sauna was a bit old, pool was nice though and seemed clean. If I venture to Brighton again I would stay here, but perhaps not book via 'late rooms'

DicustingOn entering the hotel we were welcomed by cheep hip hop music. I was shown to our room whilst my partner parked our car. What can i say other than disgusting. We were shown another room which was even worse. Of coarse we left and stayed at the thistle next door which was first class and £20 cheaper per night

Very poor roomThere was no air conditioning. The window would not stay open. The heat made it impossible to sleep. The TV remote control and the in-room safe were broken. The room overall was tatty.

Gorgeous Rooms, Nice staffThis hotel was gorgeous, perfectly situated along the sea front. Facilities were fantastic although the steam room was out of order whilst we were there.

The shared accommodation was good, and air conditioned, which mattered as it was 32 degrees! The pool and gym were great. My room, and most of the rest of the hotel, was frankly shabby (though luckily not my bathroom), hot, and even the window didn't open properly so keeping cool was not possible. I could not get the Wi Fi to work, and the staff did try to help by providing a cable. The position of the socket left me sitting my lap top on a chair, not the desk! The cable didn't work either despite my best efforts. I did not raise it as it felt like it was all a bit too much trouble to them - so much so that I gave up. Reception service seemed slow- probably because whilst we queued, staff were sometimes visible in the office behind reception, working but not attending to customers.

Fabulous and a proposal in the offing! This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel in the last two months, for £79.00, what a great deal this is and included is a sea view looking right out onto Brighton Beach and full use of the facilities, including the lovely swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The staff go out of their way to look after your every need and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and the late rooms site. While we were swimming, it prompted my other half of just two months to propose marriage! My only gripe is the bar food, not much of a choice to be honest, more snack food than anything else, but there are lots of restaurants in quite close proximity to this hotel, if you require something more substantial. The breakfast is self service, which is very good and there is lots on offer.I do live in Brighton and I will continue to use this hotel as and when I need to.

Good location but needs refurbishmentRoom 223, near to lift (just a few stairs to get to the room), at back of hotel so city views. Requested non-smoking well aired room (the room stunk of cigarette smoke and was not aired at all), opened window when arrived and left it to air!. The public areas are fine, the carpet in the bedroom and on the second floor (didn't go to other floors) needs replacing, the one in the bedroom old, stained and digusting. Bedroom itself large, blue walls, with pink at the top of the walls, Chandlier lighting in centre, 2 bedside lamps and a desk lamp (lots of lighting, good point), flat screen tv and free wifi access. Tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits provided. Bath with shower over, getting in/out was a problem, even though I am 5'6\" due to height of bath and nothing to hold onto!. The sink had cracks in it. The towels had seen better days. Complimentary shampoo and shower gel provided. Plently of hot water.Breakfast: First day went at 9.30 and got a seat but a lot of people had to wait around to get seats. Breakfast choice (help yourself), cereal, bread you can toast, croisants, fruit (melon, grapefruit segments and pineapple pieces), yoghurt, hot food sausages, bacon, egg, fried bread, tinned tomatoes, baked beans. There was a choice of juices. Breakfast items replaced often. Second day had 7 am breakfast, much more civilised, as you could move about the buffet table better. Breakfast area cluttered with no much furniture and if your chair is out (even though you are sitting close to the table) the person behind has not much room. This is due to styling of furniture. I think they need to offer options for vegetarians, like veggie sausages as other establishments seem to offer. Had one meal in the restaurant, dinner, I had feta cheese salad I asked for dressing to be served seperately, but got a salad with no dressing, asked again for dressing, it never came. Friend with me had cesear salad with chicken (lot of chicken), but

Hotel room was clean and comfortable although there were marks on the carpet of room 206 where chairs had been placed. Room 206 has a sea view which, true to its word, had one. The downside was traffic noise and sirens from the emergency services passing by.The gym was small as was the pool and at the time of my stay the steam room was kaputt. On the whole though I would stay there again and recommend it.

Queens Hotel 27th June 2009Stayed one night only on Saturday. Room large but in need of refurbishment. Very noisy with room backing onto nigt clubs. No sleep until 5am. not suitable for longer stay or families.

generally goodGenerally good. Front reception staff very polite and professional. Bedroom was also clean and although basic was functional, large quality TV and lighting good. Bathroom was not good, some mould around skirting boards and the extraction fan was covered in thick dust, I asked to change room and was obliged and received an apology. Second room was much better although not to usual standards. Staff were all friendly and the food in the restraurant was also good. Pleasent friendly atmosphere though, maybe I was just unlucky with the bathroom.

Once in a lifetimeI had a very nice night in the room I was given, upgraded from a normal room to a tower suite - very nice and not something that usually happens to me!

AdequateRoom spacious, bed firm but comfy, furniture ok, bathroom very nice but everything a little worn. Great location. A room on the higher floors has less problems of noise, despite overlooking sea and busy road inbetween.

Clean but noisyWe were pleased with our room - it was clean and spacious and the hotel in general was bright and clean. Unfortunately, our room was at the back of the hotel on the first floor close to a number of bars and clubs, which meant that - even on a Monday night - we didn't get a good night's sleep due to all the noise outside. For this reason I would not stay here again. I would have told the staff this myself if they had bothered asking if we had enjoyed our stay when we checked out.

So-soToo hot in June at night. Impossible to open the windows. Looks like 3-stars hotel. No more.
