Leeds, England, United Kingdom

Description:
Quebecs is carved from a brilliantly fashioned red-brick building which dates back to the Victorian era. The building was the famous Leeds & Country Liberal Club and has been stylishly refurbished into a polished boutique hotel. As a Grade II-listed building, the hotel has preserved its grand centerpiece, a magnificent, broad winding oak staircase that is illuminated by five ornate, stained-glass windows. The hotel has been lovingly restored with Victorian oak furnishings, intricately handcrafted wood panelling, dramatic stained-glass windows and a crackling fire with sofas to sink into. The hotel has 45 individually designed guestrooms including nine suites. Luxurious touches are central to this hotel's in-room experience, with crisp Egyptian cotton linen on the beds and cozy robes and slippers provided as standard. Guests can make their own tea and coffee while relaxing to music on the CD player or watching a range of satellite TV channels. With its evocative atmosphere of an elegant bygone age and its stunning Victorian interior, it is no surprise that Quebecs was voted one of Cond? Nast Traveler's top 80 hotels in the world. Handicap Rooms, High-speed Internet, Handicap Rooms, Room Service and Smoke-Free Property.

Location Description:
You'll find Quebecs inside one of Leeds' most famous landmarks, the former Leeds & County Liberal Club. A stunning Victorian building, in its day it was the setting for feisty debates and grand dinners. Leeds itself is one of the country's fastest growing cities, and the town centre's Victorian arcades are now filled with stylish shops, bars and restaurants. There's a huge range of superb nightlife for you to dip into, and of course, you're only a short drive away from York, Harrogate, and the stunning natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.

the best room fabulous, very spacious (although least expensive), most comfortable bed (a rarity as I am very tall). Breakfast delicious fresh fruit and sausages were Yorkshire's best. Staff excellent. Wish I had a reason to return to Leeds as I would love to visit Quebecs again.

tired roomi have stayed at this hotel several times and have been very satisfiedbut on this last occasion i was given a room on the 5th floor and the roomneeded updating. The bathroom had only one tiny shaving mirror which you had to stand stooping as my head was hitting the ceiling whilst trying to shave.Thefurniture was looking tired and the search for a socket to dry my hair in front ofthe mirror was an accomplishment.

Shopping In LeedsFound this hotel on laterooms just for a night away after a days shopping in Leeds. Never been before but will definately go again. Hotel was amazing, beautifull room, big, spotlessly clean and very comfortable and no outside noise. Staff were really helpfull, showed us on a map where to shop and where to eat. Hotel has an 'honesty bar' between 530pm-11pm. A large comfortable lounge room with fully stocked bar, they just ask you to write in a book what you have had and they charge it to your room when you leave. Breakfast not included, but if you eat before 945am it's half price, great quality food in a beautifull big conservatory looking over the town centre.

The lovely Quebecs!Quebecs is a lovely, warm, comfortable, classy in an an old school kind of way, hotel, the lobby is beautiful with huge stained glass windows, the carpets are thick and luxurious and the bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful. It excudes charm on every level.

Got the disabled suiteGot a good price £69 but probably as a result got the disabled suite which lacked a head board on the bed and had specific additional facilities that were not required by my girfriend or I. While I commend them for having such a suite I am disappointed that they use it for people who don't require additional assistance.

Quebec Hotel.Very nice room and convenient central location for hotel. Bes was wonderful and great bathroom. Traffic noise was detectable (room on front of hotel) but not a problem as I was on the fourth floor. Good breakfast in relation to the special offer price - would baulk at the full price. Someone at breakfast was complaining about too much noise and faulty air-conditioning such that they had been moved twice - was I lucky or were they unlucky? I suspect he was unlucky as I thought it was a nice place to stay for a city centre hotel.

Weekend In LeedsVey good hotel, Rooms excellent with Air Con that actually works! Massive Bathroom. Very Good rates at the weekend. Struggles with Breakfast though, tiny room not enough seats long waits at peak times. But that's the only negative everything else excellent.

Great hotel - friendly staffRoom was very comfortable and the hotel building is very interesting. The central location made it ideal. I give this hotel a 10 out of 10 except for one very small point - my wake up call was late for which I received an apology. I will definitely recommend to others and hope to stay there again.

As a regular business traveller it takes quite a lot to make an impression. However Quebecs certainly did! By far the friendliest hotel I believe I have ever stayed in. I even had assistance carrying my bags over to the venue I was training in.The room was beautiful and food delicious.Would thoroughly recommend

A relaxing break in the heart of leedsWe stayed 2 nights -the staff were all very helpful which contributed to a relaxing break. I couldn't fault the service. The room was large and well furnished--with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in

A great stay once we moved roomsThis hotel is slap bang in the centre of the city near the train station and bolted on to the end of the infamous Majestic Nightclub (thankfully closed when we were there). At first we were given a ground floor room with a night time taxi rank outside our window and a 3 lane busy road 3 metres away. Whilst a lovely room it was noisey despite double galzing and we feared that with a taxi rank outside that it would get even noisier for our Saturday night stay. My wife asked reception to move rooms as the hotel clearly wasnt full. She was told the hotel was full. Knowing that to be a lie we rang the hotel from our mobile and suprise suprise there were rooms available. Once we informed reception of this we were moved to a room in the same price bracket on the first floor which was much much better (and bigger) and not so noisey. This review may sound like we had a bad stay. We didnt. The hotel is lovely and the location is great and the room we had (208) was very big and well kitted out with DVD players etc. However you dont get breakfast and at £15 a head for a full english its expensive. Instead we went round the corner and had the best (and al fresco) breakfast at the Restaurant and Grill inside the old post office building opposite the train station and it was half the price of the hotel. All in all I would say its a good hotel in a great location but only if you get the right room.

Fantastic relaxed modern designFantastic rooms, spacious (although we were given a complimentary upgrade) and the most comfortable bed ever! Food was first class although staff were slightly lacking in charisma at Reception and Breakfast (Room Service however was very good). Highly recommended hotel experience.

Perfect choiceI stay overnight in Leeds approx every 2 months and decided to make a change from my usual hotel. Really pleased with the choice. Quebecs is one of the Boutique hotels thatvreally lives up to the description and delivers the goods. Will certainly stay there again.

BeautifulThe hotel has a near perfect locationa nd we were lucky enough to get there early to get the first come first serve parking beside the hotel (only abut 5 spaces). We were also lucky enough to get the only room wth a balcony which was oerfect this bank holiday because it was so sunny. The room itself was lovely and spacious and the shower great. Oh, and the honesty bar-not huge but still a nice relaxing lounge type area.
