Very old hotel, rooms are very dated. Nothing justifies a 4 stars rating for it. I only had breakfast, also not as expected, very low quality products. Take care, there is NO park area, they only have a parking behind the hotel which costs 10€/night.

I stayed in Palermo for three days and I really loved it! The excellent hotel took it's part in this general good experience! Only "bad" feedback is that the front office staff wasn't well informed about car rental companies (Europcar). When asked they gave us a wrong information which caused serious problem to us. She didn't even care to double check her answer. But well, shit happens!

Quality Hotel President - Fantastico. My wife and I stayed for three nights and all staff were excellent. Reception staff spoke very good English and were very helpful. The room was very clean and decor was bright and welcoming. We ate in the hotel resturant and the food and service were excellent. The waiters made us feel very welcome and the breakfast buffet choice was good. We had a fantastic time at this hotel and value for money makes this choice a no brainer. We are looking forward to staying again next year.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise as we did not expect anything as big and professionally run as this was for the price. The rooms were a good size with all mod cons including Air Con that worked beautifully. Location was a little seedy being at the port but it was really close to everything we needed. Especially loved Emanuela in the bar where we had our nightcap before retiring each night. There were three of us all in single rooms and all just as pleased. Breakfast was a buffet with a good selection and included in the price.

Very good location - easy to reach by car and foot. A parking lot for the night till the next afternoon for 7 euro, which in stuffed Palermo making life easier. One can also parks for free in the opposit side of the steet infront of the hotel. Some Pizzerias and Tratoria nearby were open till late, which was good for late arrival. An ATM neary. Good full breakfast (the coffee was a disapointment - after all it's Italy...). One important improovment - a night lamp near every bad (with a bulb sufficient enough for reading) is realy something one expects in a 4* hotel.

Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful in assisting me in getting to a small town south of Palermo. The breakfast was the best I have seen in 3 previous B&Bs. Conveniently located to pizzarias and tratorias. Directly across from the port if traveling by boat, just steps away. I would defintely stay at this hotel again.

As with all accomodation in Sicily, you don't get quite what you'd expect from the same rating elsewhere in the world. The President was a 4 star hotel, and I'm sure it was when it opened in the 70s, but it could do with a bit of a makeover to bring it up to scratch. Having said that, for the price by comparison to other places in Palermo, we were more than happy with the hotel. The service was great, with the reception doing everything they could to help us when needed. Most of the reception staff spoke relatively good English or were willing to try and work it out, again, something you don't often find in Sicily. In a country and city where tourism is only just kicking off in full force, and service often leaves a lot to be desired, the President Hotel was a really pleasant surprise. I would definitely consider staying there again next time I'm in Sicily!

The room was very large and spacious, as was the bathroom. The hotel staff spoke VERY limited english, which made making any arrangements very very difficult. Also, and this is something not indicated anywhere, the air conditioning is shut off every night for the entire hotel at 3am, and not turned back on till afternoon sometime. Which made for sleeping in a very hot and sweaty room. Overall, I would not stay in this hotel again. The view was also not as nice as we had hoped. Our window looked directly into the port area, which is not all that appealing. The area around the hotel was rather sketchy looking at best. The nicer areas seemed to be a few blocks away. Definitely not an area to feel safe in walking around during the night.
