Quality Inn was a good value for the money; the rooms were a nice size, friendly staff, smooth check in. I know it's a little thing, but they had decent vending options for a late-night check in like me. It wasn't spotless, but not overly dirty. The hardest part was getting to the entrance with all the one-ways in the area, but all of Des Moines downtown is like that and I've spent ten minutes getting to other places there, too. Still, a larger, clearer entrance sign, and maybe some signage on the surrounding streets, might help.

Location for basketball games andrestaurant. Bigger bathroom and an additional sitting chair in the room. We loved the convenience in traveling to the Iowa State Boys Basketball Tournament. We also had a great time in the restaurant/bar.

The doors for our room were too thin, I could hear everything outside my room including the cart from the room service. The breakfast was not hot enough, they call it hot but no steam to be found even on the food just brought out. The breakfast area is unclean and rude staff in there. I would never stay here again.

Price and Location were my draws to thid hotel. Driving into and out of the hotel was stressful. They were a great place for large parties. I always saw hotel staff cleaning and stocking supplies. I was there for a relaxing weekend but 10 busses of teenage girls do not allow for that experience.

Generally clean and well kept outside and in. Room was spacious enough and clean. AC/Heat worked great, no bathroom fan, tons of TV channels, no ppv. Great view of river and downtown from the upper floors. Needs to expand hours (at night) of dining and fitness room."

Rooms were nice and clean, staff friendly. We had a great stay at the Quality Inn & Suites. The atmosphere was great, the room was clean, the location was perfect, and the staff were friendly. Would stay at this location in the future!

We wanted a non smoking room and didn't have one. People in the restaurant were very RUDE and non accomodating.

The rooms were okay, nice size beds and clean bathrooms. The staff at the bar area were terribly rude to our entire party. We stayed at this hotel as we were in Des Moines for a wedding. Upon coming back from the reception a group of us went to the bar area for some drinks and conversation. When I went to the bartender and ordered a drink he refused to make it, gave me a bottle of beer and told me to go to my room and drink it. Another member of the party tried to order a drink and the bartender refused him service. There was another wedding party in the bar who was sitting around the bar. The bartender claimed he called last call and that is why he would not service our party, which would have been fine but he continued to service the other group. Our behavior was not warranted for this by any means. We were sitting in a corner conversing amongst ourselves.

It was easy to find and close to my place of business. I did not like the barking dog in the next room and the hotel needs many repairs. My room was above the restaurant and every night it smelled like grilled meat. The hotel allowed pets so I had a yapping dog next door for 3 days. I found fleas on my bedspread. The free breakfast consisted of stale bagels, cold cereal, and weak coffee. Parts of the hotel building badly needed repair. The only thing good about this hotel is the location, easy to find and close to downtown.

Close to where we were going. NA. NA.

It accepted pets. It didn't have cots for kids, it didn't have shuttle service to downtown (which was about 1 mile away) and my room smelled gross. Was disappointed that they didn't offer cots for children. Was further disappointed that they did not offer shuttle service to downtown.

Great Location, central to Downtown attractions and very easy exit from the interstate. Small elevators created long waits for service. Hotel amenities were exactly what I would expect for the price. Full breakfast was a nice extra and all staff from the front desk, restaurant staff to the maid staff was all very friendly and helpful. Central location and easy exit from the interstate were just icing on the cake.

Location. I am sure we would have enjoyed the hotel more if we were in a non-smoking room.

Fairly convenient location, bright, and no-frills hotel. Need to up-grade their maintenance programs. This hotel was in a fairly convenient location, right by convention center and arena, but a little far away from better restaurants, shopping, etc. I also ran into several maintenance-cleaning issues in the room. The drain stopper did not function, a piece of duct-tape was caught and making noise in the ventilation system and the string from someone's tea was left in the in-room coffee pot. They didn't offer anything amazing for the price, nor did I expect it.

It was convenient for where I was going. It had nothing in the rooms as far as fridge, micro, for the price I paid. For the price I paid I expected a little more like maybe a sauna or hot tub, spa, in the hotel.
