I liked the close proximity to the beach. The indoor pool, hot tub, public areas seemed worn, dated and uncomfortable.

We have stayed here for years because we love the parrots. But the last couple of years have been bad. Always something we would normally use at the hotel was not working but we stayed every winter. This stay during March of 2009 the pool was cold, both of the Saunas did not work, one of the hot tub was broken and empty, the other did not work and the water was cold even the hotels only ice machine was empty and out of order. We called two hours before arriving and booked a room at a higher rate than was online. The person that booked stay was not helpful and we were asked by that person if we wanted a king or 2 doubles we requested a king and they said it was available. Of course we lugged our luggage up to 3rd floor to the room they gave that had 2 double beds. We still like the parrots but suggest taking the parrots out of the cages and putting the manager and owner in their place. It is criminal the way this place is run.

This hotel was in a great location. You could easily walk out the back door onto miles of beautiful oceanfront. Plus, traveling to the boardwalk was easy via bus or car. My husband and I enjoyed using both the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as walking around the atrium to view all the parrot "residents". For a romantic getaway to taking your family on vacation, this hotel was well worth the money.

the hotel is pink on the outside, but the rooms are really nice and clean. They should of had an plug outlet on the outside balcony, or equip the room with extension cords. But this trip was better than my last trip. I went to seacrets and it was crowded but i had a good time

Great ocean view, and excellent staff. Older style furnishings in the room, and no continental breakfast. Friendly staff and a great beach location gives this hotel a two-star rating despite the older style furnishings and slightly run-down appearance.

first the good parts: balcony w/ ocean view was nice. private beach was nice also.staff was nice. but thats it. hotel is very dated and old. needs repairs and maintance. the carpets thru out hotel are musty and old. pools & jacuzzis inside were dirty, i mean real dirty. the little atruim resturnat was terrible! the hotel was a good price, however you get what you pay for here- i was actually very surprised how dirty this place was for a quality inn. it needs a deep clean and sanitation. they advertise it to be a tropical retreat- trust me its far from a tropical retreat. there are 100's of choices in oc maryland- keep looking!!

Me, My wife and our 1yr old daughter were here and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are well kept and maintained. Every appliance needed is available in each room (fridge, microwave, stove, dishes, utensils, coffee maker, can opener, etc) The Atrium ( plam trees, birds, a bar, cafe, fish, pool and two hot tubs) sight was great. Our daughter really liked the birds and the play area they have for the children. Our stay was a little too cold to enjoy the Ocean, but the indoor pool and hot tubs made up for that. We will be coming again this summer and will be choosing this same hotel again for our future stays in Ocean City!!!!

I returned from a three night stay at the Quality Inn Oceanfront, 5400 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City MD. The rooms were shabby in appearance; there was mold everywhere in the outdated bathroom! The switch plate was missing on the bathroom light switch, the stove and the refrigerator were dold, decrpit and dirty, with ice caked in the freezer. There was a hole in the wall, the kitchen & bathroom cabinets were filthy. I went out and bought a can of Lysol spray for both rooms. **NOTE: I TOOK PICTURES** One room the TV did not work (but was later fixed). (The sheets & towels were changed daily and the beds were OK)

The swimming pool and hot tub were nice The lobby smelled like vomit Positives: Nice swimming pool and hot tub, nice view, hammock right outside of our room, wonderful staff Negatives: The lobby smelled like vomit, when we arrived, our keys didn't work. We got new keys, and they didn't work either. We had to get the lock changed, the toilet seat was broken, the bird were annoying and loudOverall, I do not feel that the price I payed was worth it.

We had a great time in Ocean City, because we were determined to do so. We called ahead to find out if could check before the 3PM registration and were told to feel free to stop by, but when we arrived a little before 1PM, we were advised that our room would not be ready, and that they'd call us when it was. Once we were actually able to check in the front desk were very pleasant and the cleaning staff very accomodating. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, as the food & the service was awful, the food handlers wore no gloves so we decided to eat elsewhere despite the fact that we were given several discount coupons to use at the restaurant throughout our stay. The indoor pool and outdoor kiddie pool were dirty. The hotel has no beach chairs available free or for rent, although towels are plentiful and always available at the lobby. Our room was on the second floor with no elevator, which made it a little tough to walk up with our baby's things, it did however, have two balconies: one overlooking the indoor pool (chlorine smell was overwhelming though) and the other facing the outdoor pool and parking lot which are both on the opposite side of the beach. The hotel has three stories, and there are elevators only for the rooms with direct oceanfront view. Our room was pleasantly large and relatively clean, but the carpet was the worst I've seen in any hotel, my daughter walked around on it with white socks for less than 20 minutes and we had to change her socks! We did had a great night's sleep as the beds & pillows were very comfortable.

Hotel from the outdoor looks a bit run down, inside it was much better kept. Heat didnt work for us first night, bathroom out-dated. Children threw stuff at us from balcony while in pool, hotel did not take care of this after several requests. They also did not offer any sorry or compensation for my girlfriend being hit hard with falling debris from the children. Indoor atrium was nice, the birds are really mean though. like killer birds. Great beach access, but the fitness room felt like a dungeon, was run down and wasnt comfy, whatsoever!

The hotel was very family friendly, I might go back there with my son. The staff (save one maintenance man and the bartenders) were horrible, they never smiled and were never helpful. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend. We weren't greeted with a smile once, and the people at the front desk acted like everything was an inconvenience. We didn't have air conditioning in our room for a day and only one maintenance man actually cared to do anything about it, the rest of the staff brushed it off. I did love all of the things the hotel had for kids to do, if they get rid of their front desk staff for employees that know what customer service is, I would definitely go back with my little boy.

We only stayed one night. I read some of the not-so complimentary reviews, but decided to stay here anyway. I wasn't disappointed. It has a good location. A few blocks off the Route 90 exit. There is no boardwalk that far up, so the beach is a little more quiet than further down. The atrium is like nothing you've ever seen. Indoor pools, parrots everywhere. Very diffferent...exciting. We requested and received an Ocean front room. It had a large refrigerator and electric stove and sink area with microwave. Also a walk-out balcony with an incredible view. But some of the bad reviews are accurate. The hotel is in need of updating. Worn carpet throughout. Mold covered fixtures in the bathroom and sprinkler heads in the room. Had a few Gnats flying around in the room as well. And I discovered a pair of ladies shoes and pantyhose that were left under the bed. Apparently from the previous guests. Disgusting. However, even after all of that...yes I'd stay again. The price is extremely competitive and as long as you aren't expecting a four star hotel...this is a good place to stay if you are just looking for a place to sleep while you are at the beach.

It was a beautiful hotel. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was even better. The birds were fed better than a lot of bird owners will do for their own pets. It is a great motel to take the kids - ours had a blast even though it was cold and cloudy. The bar in the atrium is an added benefit! On the down side, their is only one elevator for guests so it is very slow and the tanning bed had a lot of bulbs that were out. Our room was ocean front so we were able to enjoy that and also we could walk right out our front door and look down into the pool area to keep an eye on the kids!

Over all the hotel was ok. There was unattended children running in the hall till 2am screaming and playing on the elevators. If you want to set you kids loose on guest then tis is the hotel for you. The size of the room was surprisingly large. The restaurant could be open a little later for travelers that arrive late into the evening. I enjoyed my short stay in this hotel very much. The room was quite large and comfortable. I will stay there again when in town.
