The hotel served my purpose of somewhere to sleep. The staff was really nice and the rooms were clean however quite dated including the bed. I'll say, sometimes a nice pillows can make a bad bed acceptable. I was there on a weeknight but there were still a few rooms partying, that was my biggest complaint of the place. It could have been quieter. I travel often so I never leave home without earplugs but for the random traveler, they might not be happy.

The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were nice! All of the channels did not come in. I was nervous about this hotel because of the reviews I had read on here, but I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone! The free continental breakfast was good too!

First of all the location is terrible, the first night there I saw a gang fight across the street which I believe ended up with someone getting killed, the room did not fare any better, first off the doors on the outside looked very beat up, the frames on the door were falling off and the door lock had the screws falling off, the door handles on the bathroom were broken, the AC in the room did not work, the iron did not work, the room had roaches (dead) but there was still roaches in the room, the beds were ok, but the constant sound of sirens did not help at all and add to that the horns from the train, I will never stay there again and I would advise others not to, there are plenty of hotels around the area that are in much better shape and look a whole lot safer, don't be fooled by the pictures!!

My expectations for this motel were not very high but even so, the place was truly terrible. The entire property smelled like dirty diapers, and was in a state of high decline. Some efforts had been made at landscaping, but all the walkways and stairs were filthy and run-down. The room itself looked like it had barely been given a once- over and I was just plain afraid of the bathroom. Same disgusting smell but amplified by something swampy. The surrounding neighborhood was grungy and unfriendly with no amenities or services(that you might want to use). The road layout getting to the motel was also incredibly confusing with no easy access to the entrance.

When we arrived there was only 1 set of towels and no iron. We tried to call hospitality but no one answered the phone, there were 3 attempts. My husband had to go to the front desk to get service. We were told we would be contacted once an iron was located. No return call. We never did get the iron. The next day after our room was "cleaned" we were left with 1 set of towels. Same scenario, no answer from the front desk. So my husband went to the front desk again, this time asked for an extra pillow as well as towels. There were no extra pillows available. The next day, we left the room. When we came back, it wasn't cleaned or anything. This time, someone answered at the front desk, there were no clean towels available. We were also told our room probably wasn't cleaned because we had a sign on the door, we didn't of course. So we had no clean towels to dry off with after our showers. Speaking of showers, ours was so stained and we had to wear our flip flops in the shower. Yes! This is a really bad hotel all around!!!

As a woman traveling alone I had a bit of a problem with safety issues. Although the door had the normal lock and the dead bolt the safety latch was only on one side of the door. So I slept with the table (which thankfully was heavy) pushed up against the door. I noticed also that the bathroom window lock was broken off, when I opened it to see why someone would do such a thing(I was on the 2nd floor), I found the screen was torn to shreads. The room was pleasant enough, not outstanding, the bed was comfortable. I was looking forward to a long soak in the bath tub (even bought some bath salts for it). I'm now sure if the tub had been painted and the paint was wearing off or what but it wasn't very appealing. Breakfast the next morning was the usual assortment of dry cereal, make your own waffles and hard boiled eggs (with not salt or pepper).

Had to pay extra for having two beds. The staff was nice, but hotel was only 1 star level. Rough Area. Liquor bottles all over the parking lot.

We went to Merced for a nephew's baptism, and we looked on the Internet for hotels in the Merced area. The night before we left, we chose to stay in the Quality Inn over the other choices because it had the beds we wanted and a good distance from the relative' s house. We booked two rooms with two queen beds at the same price as all the other rooms there. I loved how the hotel was 358 feet from the exit at the CA-99, and even though our rooms very close to the lobby, we did not experience much noise from the freeway. I did not like, however, that our room (104) was not fully made up when I entered into it. However, by the time we came back from the baptism and reception, the beds were neatly fixed. The heater worked very well and kept us warm from the cold weather of the North. The best part of our stay was that the rooms were adjacent and we could all walk from one room to the other without walking outside. Both bathrooms were very clean with new towels and nice soap. One room (103), however, had all the appliances, such as the iron, ironing board, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker with coffee and cups. My room (104) had only the iron and ironing board. The shower did not work well, and when I was finished, there was water all over the restroom. Also, the doors to the pool were improperly locked. But, it was a good place to stay, especially since it had a (delicious) free breakfast. It is a good place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night and if you are on a budget. I recommend the double queen bed rooms.

Convenient location, easy to navigate the area. They tried to charge our account an additional $57. The commotion woke us up around 3:00am. Very unnerving. Also, they tried to charge our account for a false charge. We still trying to get the credit. A bit shady. The adjoining restaurant was filthy. The room did serve our purpose for the night, cheap, easy to navigate. We attended the Michelle Obama commencement event at UC Merced.

My family was visiting the area on a college recruiting trip. We had two rooms. There was no refrigerator in either room. I had called before our trip and been told there was a 'fridge in each room. When I turned down the bed Friday night, I found cigarette burns in the sheets. The complex is supposed to be smoke free rooms. The wall socket next to the bed was dead, not allowing me to hook up an important medical respirator. Upon our return to the rooms Saturday evening, we found both rooms had not been made up. Both nights, at about 3a.m., we were wakened by a barking dog in the room next to us. Maybe management could warn patrons about pets, or give them an option to relocate to another room. On Sunday, as we were about to leave, I looked under the bed checking for a sock. Instead of the sock,I found an opened condom wrapper. Everything was also written on an evaluation form for the motel. When I told the clerk what I had written, she said management would be advised and that she was going to credit part of my balance to my credit card. As of today (4-20-'07)the balance has not been corrected. Our son has been accepted to a university in the area, we more than likely will be staying in another hotel when we visit him.

Easy access to highway. Dirty washcloth in shower from previous guest. Tile in bath scurvy, lock on door got stuck and had to call repair to get into room, and breakfast was OK.

Highly overpriced for what you get. Woke up at 4am to a loud pool party outside my door. No sound proofing. Was on side away from the freeway but could still clearly hear the traffic noise from freeway. Absolutely will not stay at this location again & will hesitate to use the chain elsewhere.

When I couldn't get the my computer to work they let me use their computer. I could not get the internet to work on my computer. The rooms were clean but not overly fancy. The continental breakfast was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Bed wasreasonably comfortable. Bad location, old. I would not stay here again. The location is bad, the hotel is old, etc. I stayed in a Super 8 hotel the next day for only a fraction more and it was much nicer.

I was not shot at. Dirty, mold in shower, shower rest room smelled like a cat litter box, no Kleenex.

The staff was very friendly and outgoing. The hotel was clean and upkept everyday. The one thing that I did not like was the location; opposite the 99 freeway-could hear the noise all night. I enjoyed my stay at this establishment. The staff was accommodating and very helpful. We stayed in the pet friendly section which unfortunately was opposite the freeway and I could hear the freeway noise all night long. This would be my only complaint about this establishment. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.
