Pleasantly surprised. I was on a business trip and I found a high-end luxury hotel in the middle of no where. Great continental breakfast, pleasant staff, unbelievable suites and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for this level of quality.

Hotel is average - a little run down, but otherwise good. The restaurant, on the other hand, is a hidden diamond. Tommy's menu is impressive, and the presentation and food is even more so. I've eaten here twice, and both meals were the best in recent memory - even when compared against restaurants of higher caliber. There is a complete attention to nuance and details and the play of flavors is incredible. I would drive many hours simply to dine here.

Accommodating. Walls too thin noisy. Staff were very pleasant, very noisy hallways hearing in your room.

Stayed 2 nights. Desk clerks were very courteous, friendly and helpful. Room was large and very clean. Only disappointment was an almost empty roll of toilet paper and no facial tissue in the bathroom when I checked in. This was rectified the next morning. Continental breakfast included, bagels, waffles, donuts, tea & coffee and juice. Tea & coffee was available 24/7. A nice touch!!

The very accommodating staff. There was nothing wrong with the hotel. The hotel was clean, a friendly staff that was very accommodating, and knew the local area, and it was centrally located for convenience.

... but other towns aren't that far away. The paper I was given at check-in said "please pardon our dust, we're renovating", but the renovation wasn't the problem. In no particular order, the problems were: room small with no comfortable chair, doors along corridor slam very noisily, toilet seat wouldn't stay up, thermostat in room actively misleading (set it for cool, you get MORE heat than if you set it for heat) -- front desk not helpful, light bulb blew at first use (all right, that one's a nit), exactly ONE tissue in the Kleenex box, housekeeping crew started (again, noisy) at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday. Given all the indications that they should be spending more on management and supervision, the fact that the newly installed pedestal sink was something I'd expect to find only in a far pricier hotel became an irritant, not a mitigating factor. Next time, I'll stay in Potsdam, or even Ogdensburg.

Very nice decorating. Parking area was awkward. Need better notification for entrances etc. My room was newly renovated, very nice and comfortable.

That I did not lock in for a longer stay. Noisy! I have stayed at at Quality Inns before, this was the first time I was not only disappointed, but felt like it did not matter that I was a guest. It was very disappointing.

One staff person for entire hotel at night. Parking garage not lit well, not enough spaces. One person @ desk who also had to bring towels as there was no staff on duty. She was nice but there are multiple floors this was not a B&B. Lobby dingy and uninviting. Room was clean. In morning look out the window and there is construction worker on lift looking back at us on 3rd floor! Doors bang loudly all night not cushioned for quiet. Ok clean room but not one to recommend.

Lobby was very nice and good breakfast. A little outdated, but I understand they are working on that. Nice hotel with very nice employees. A little old fashioned, but they are updating and what they've done so far seems really nice.
